BIOGRAPHY
Stephanie Schecter is a young singer/songwriter who
blends her heartfelt lyrics with beautiful melodies.
Stephanie is from Rome, Georgia but currently
resides in Charleston, South Carolina.
Stephanie liked writing lyrics from a young age and
has always been very involved with both acting and
singing. During her high school years she studied
voice under the instruction of Dr. Linda Lister at
Shorter College. When she was sixteen years old, she
picked up her dad’s guitar and asked him if he would
help her learn how to play. Within a few months
Stephanie had written two full songs. The first was
called You-less and it was quickly followed by
Butterflies. Both of these songs can be heard on her
debut album, Capturing A Moment. The summer
before she went off to college, she recorded a full ten
track album produced by Ben McRee at The Temple
Studio. The album was released in December 2009
and is available on iTunes, CDBaby, Amazon, as
well as many other distribution sites.
This young artist is currently a sophomore at the College of Charleston where she is majoring in Music
Composition and Theory as well as Communications. She is also a member of the college’s elite Concert Choir
and has studied classical voice for several years.
Past performances include Underground Atlanta’s New Year’s Eve 2010 Peach Drop, Eddie’s Attic, Paws for A
New Year Benefit Concert, Rome’s Summer Benefit for the Aids Resource Council, Cave Spring’s Fourth of July
Concert in the Park, as well as various venues in Rome, Atlanta and Charleston.
