Our manufacturing and construction affiliates are strengthening
their core competencies in the high-tech area. We are one of
the world’s leading manufacturers of industrial explosives, military applications, and aerospace equipment.
We have aggressively accelerated the expansion of overseas
operations since 2007. These efforts culminated in the resounding achievement of winning a USD 8 billion new city development
project in Iraq in 2012.
Our fully vertically integrated solar value chain positions us as
an emerging global leader in the photovolatics industry. Hanwha’s
strategic investment in photovoltaics and biotechnology will pave
the way for greater growth in the decades to come.
Our financial affiliates continuously evolve their customer services to reflect today’s fast-changing capital markets and address
individuals’ diverse financial objectives. Leveraging over six decades of experience and expertise, we provide reliable life insurance products to customers in Korea and Vietnam.
In addition, we began operations of Sino-Korea Life, a joint venture of Hanwha Life and Zhejiang International Business Group,
in December 2012 and acquired a life insurance company in
Indonesia in late 2012.
We also established a solid foundation for becoming a top-tier
player in Korea’s securities and asset management industry
through a series of mergers and acquisitions.
Our services and leisure affiliates are constantly creating new
innovative ways to improve our customer experiences at our
various venues. Our resort business is now in the middle of a
major ongoing renovation that will include a new premium resort
chain and a group of world-class aquariums across Korea. Hanwha
Galleria enhanced its status as a premium shopping venue by
opening Gourmet 494 and Masterpiece Zone. Gourmet 494 brings
a grocery store and restaurant together, introducing the first
“grocerant” operation in Korea, and Masterpiece Zone is a permanent exhibition area for high-end products.
Combined with our recently renovated hotel, resort, waterpark,
and convention properties, this will ensure that our reputation
as Korea’s premier leisure group continues to grow in the years
ahead.

Social Responsibility
Our
focus on
community is
making
a brighter
tomorrow.
Sponsoring sports
We believe in positive forces and a sense of community that sports bring to our community as
sports help people unite through collective team
spirit and good spirited individual competition.
For this reason, we actively sponsor various team
sports and less popular sports, and operate a
professional baseball team. Now we are extending our sponsorship programs to include soccer,
basketball, and baseball in Europe, North America, and other parts of the world.
Sharing energy for life
We are committed to fulfilling our corporate social
responsibilities in such areas as social welfare,
arts and culture, public services, and foreign aid.
Led by the Hanwha Social Responsibility Center,
we take our corporate citizenly duty to our communities seriously and operate our community
outreach programs transparently to support
more than six hundred programs at over seventy
workplaces across Korea and around the world.
Going further, together
Sharing expertise in
solar energy
We have become a leader in educating, sharing, and installing of solar panels and systems
around the world with the goal of lessening the
threat of desertification. We have installed solar
power generating systems at a number of community service facilities as a part of this effort.
At Hanwha, we believe in going further together
rather than alone. Over the past six decades,
we have built mutual respect and trust with
many of our partners as we share our expertise,
resources, and success with them.
