Chorus Coaching Clearinghouse
Nathan Ogg is our New "Chapter Chorus Coaching Clearinghouse Coordinator".
He is the assistant director of the Alliance Chorus. His email address is [email protected]
Nathan will be the person to contact (by JAD chapters) to get coaching. He will determine, from
them, what type of coaching, when it's needed, and who to contact to do said coaching. There will be

Nada Clue Quartet

at the Lake County Captains' game on July 19th.
Tenor - Bill Dickey, Lead - Chuck Whitaker,
Bass - Dick Hills, and Bari - Paul Hopkins
A Quartet Moment in JAD History - Generation Gap Quartet
The very first (unofficial) singing of the National Anthem at Great American
Ballpark was performed by the Generation Gap quartet (Rick Howard, Jerry
Wallman, Bill Cates, and Chazz Lavely) a year before the park was opened
to the public. We had been hired as wandering entertainment for a Reds
season ticket-holder event to presell premium seats for the new stadium.
During our tour of the ballpark we walked out onto the rough ground to where a
stake indicated home plate would be and we asked if we could sing. The
project manager suggested we dedicate the singing of our National Anthem as
a tribute to his fellow Turner Construction team members lost in the World
Trade Center Towers on 9-11. Rick Howard

Barbershop Trivia Answer
Barbershop Trivia: A: On the front cover of the September 26, 1936 issue of
the Saturday Evening Post. The foursome was singing in a barbershop,
naturally. (From P.R.O.B.E. BARBERSHOP HISTORY QUIZ # 42 author: Mark
Axelrod, editor of "Blue Chip Chatter," Teaneck, NJ)
Warmup Technique Video
During the 3rd day at Harmony University, Don Campbell (one of the
instructors doing morning warmups) referred to this gentleman's research on
using a straw instead of a hum to get the voice ready to sing. This will be well
worth your time to watch.
