Nordstrom Rack joins lineup
Retail destination scheduled to open year-end 2014
By year-end 2014, shop till you drop
in Summerlin will take on a whole new
meaning. That’s when The Shops at Summerlin opens to much anticipation from
community residents who look forward
to a top quality retail destination in their
backyard.
Nordstrom Rack will join the growing retail collection, opening an approximately 36,000-square-foot off-price
store. The new location offers loyal Las
Vegas shoppers a location close to home
along with previously announced anchors Macy’s and Dillard’s — all of which
are set to open in fall of 2014.
“We’ve known for a long time that we
wanted to be in Summerlin,” said Geevy
Thomas, president of Nordstrom Rack.
“The Shops at Summerlin is a great fit
for the Rack and we’re excited about this
opportunity to bring our take on the ultimate treasure hunt to customers in the
western Las Vegas Valley.”
Conveniently located just off the West
Charleston Boulevard exit on the 215
Beltway, The Shops at Summerlin is a
106-acre, 1.6-million-square-foot regional retail destination that will encompass
more than 125 stores and restaurants in
an open-air, pedestrian-friendly environment.
“Nordstrom Rack is a favorite among
shoppers in the Las Vegas Valley and will
serve as an outstanding addition to The
Shops at Summerlin, one of the premier
regional retail sites in the U.S.,” said
Kevin Orrock, president of Summerlin
and vice president of master-planned
communities for The Howard Hughes
Corp. “Retailer response to the project
has been tremendous as we work to create an unrivaled shopping, dining and
entertainment hub for downtown Summerlin.”
The Shops at Summerlin will also
be home to a nine-story, Class A office
tower unlike any other in Las Vegas today. The Shops at Summerlin is part of
a 400-acre planned urban center where
commerce, entertainment and retail activities are seamlessly integrated with

Andorra in The Paseos offers seven floor plans starting in the low $300,000s. The Woodside Homes neighborhood is one of four popular developments blossoming in Summerlin’s
westernmost village.
Summerlin new-home sales are heating up
As fall temperatures cool down the
Las Vegas Valley, new-home sales continue to heat up in Summerlin. According to
national real estate consultant RCLCO,
Summerlin ranks ninth nationally among
master-planned communities for home
sales year to date, another indication
that interest in the Summerlin lifestyle
remains high.
“Demand for homes in Summerlin is
strong at all price points,” said Kevin Orrock, president of Summerlin and vice
president of master-planned communities for The Howard Hughes Corp. “The
value of master-planned community living continues to resonate with buyers
who appreciate and desire quality of life.
That’s why buyers are clamoring to get
into some of the newest neighborhoods
here.”
Five Summerlin villages are selling
a variety of home styles, offering more
than 40 floor plans ranging from 1,500
to 5,900 square feet. Prices start in the
low $200,000s and top out at more than
$2 million for custom home lots in The
Ridges.
Before bulldozers graded the ground
in The Paseos village, new-home buyers
were signing up for a look at Santaluz.
The Toll Brothers neighborhood sits in
the cascading elevation of The Paseos,
Summerlin’s westernmost village. This
gem offers three single-story floor plans
and is the only new development in Summerlin made up entirely of single-story
homes.
Just across the street are neighboring
developments Esperanza and Catalina
by Lennar. Like Santaluz, these neighborhoods are designed with Mediterranean and Spanish influenced architecture and offer eight floor plans in both
single-story and two-story homes.
Also in The Paseos is Woodside Home’s
Andorra neighborhood. There are seven
floor plans available at Castille at Andorra and Seville at Andorra starting in the
low $300,000s.
The Mesa village, Summerlin’s southernmost village to date, offers popular
home styles designed by KB Home, Pulte
Homes, Richmond American Homes,
Ryland Homes and Woodside Homes.
The 18 floor plans in the neighborhood of
Amado start in the mid-$200,000s and offer features such as roof-top decks, up to
six bedrooms, dual master bedrooms and
energy efficient appliances.
Summerlin Centre village offers some
unique home options, including West
Park Villas town homes by William Lyon
Homes. The four floor plans offer twoand three- story designs that include a
third-floor mezzanine and optional tech
center.
Next door is Villa Trieste by Pulte
Homes, the state’s first LEED-certified
neighborhood. Residents in Villa Trieste’s single-family detached homes
boast of energy bills that are so low, they
are almost nonexistent — one reason
why this property is almost sold out.
The luxury golf course condominium
community Mira Villa at The Canyons
village has three remaining floor plans,
including the 3,850-square-foot penthouse starting at $1.05 million.
For an even more lavish lifestyle,
Summerlin is selling custom home lots
at Azure in its exclusive guard-gated village of The Ridges. Custom homesites at
one-quarter to three-quarter acres are
selling, priced from the low $300,000s to
more than $1 million. Fewer than 65 lots
remain.
The Ridges also offers products from
world-class builders, such as Christopher Homes and William Lyon Homes.
The nearby Boulder Ridge neighborhood by Christopher Homes offers four
floor plans starting at 4,300-square-feet
custom built on one-quarter to one-halfacre home sites starting at just under $2
million.
Sterling Ridge by William Lyon Homes
will be opening later this year with six
floor plans ranging from 3,546 to 4,871
square feet.
Details about each neighborhood are

Signature events popular with all valley residents
Weekend Summerlin Art Festival to
feature popular chalk art exhibit
The annual Summerlin Art Festival includes more than 100 artists as well as stage
performers, live music and a chalk art competition. This year’s event is from 9 a.m. to 5
p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Community Park on Town Center Drive between Sahara
Avenue and Charleston Boulevard. It is free and open to the general public.
Thanks to a robust calendar of familyfriendly events, residents of Summerlin
enjoy exclusive access to year-round
activities planned just for them. But the
general public can get in on the action at
three of the community’s largest events
that are sponsored by The Howard
Hughes Corp.: Summerlin Art Festival,
Summerlin Half-Marathon and Tour de
Summerlin.
This weekend, Oct. 12 and 13, is the
Summerlin Art Festival, at Summerlin
Centre Community Park, 1800 S. Town
Center Drive. Sponsored in part by CBS
Radio, the event features more than 100
artists and craftsman from throughout
the Southwest. Their fine art collections
include paintings, glasswork, pottery,
jewelry, metal works, sculpture and
mixed media pieces.
“This isn’t a craft fair; it’s a fine art
exhibition with activities everyone in
the family can enjoy,” said Danielle Bisterfeldt, director of marketing for Summerlin. “We’ve hosted this event for 19
years, and it’s become a fall tradition for
everyone in the valley who appreciates
and loves art, especially in a fun, outdoor
environment.”
The Summerlin Art Festival includes
a popular chalk art component. Sponsored for the first time by the Discovery
Children’s Museum, the chalk art exhibit
features a competitive division for those
interested in having their chalk art creations juried, as well as a noncompetitive division for those interested in just

Shriners Hospitals for Children Open brings weeklong lineup of golf, events
As the home of Nevada’s only two
Tournament Players Club courses and
seven other golf courses, Summerlin has
long been known as a golfer’s paradise.
In fact, the golf world’s eyes will soon
shift to Summerlin Oct. 14-20 when The
Shriners Hospitals for Children Open
takes center stage at TPC Summerlin.
Now a part of the FedExCup regular
schedule this year, this PGA Tour event
is expected to draw more than 130 of the
world’s top professional golfers to the
city to compete for a player’s exemption
into the 2014 Masters and a share of a $6
million purse. The tournament features a
week complete with unique events for all
to get involved in the action.
Beginning Saturday, the Las Vegas
Golf Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony
presents the 2013 class, including Brenda Knott, Bob May, Ray Norvell and Bill

On Sunday, the Goodie Two Shoes
Foundation Rockin’ Walk encourages
participants to put their best foot forward to help thousands of disadvantaged
children by providing them with new
shoes and socks. More than 775 children
have benefited from the event over the
past three years.
The tournament also features new ad-
ditions to the weekly lineup, including
Clark County School District Day on
Monday. Clark County School District
Day seeks to educate local youth in subjects such as health and wellness, financial literacy and renewable energy. The
course will be closed to the public as
the tournament staff welcomes 200 students from McWilliams Elementary for
an enjoyable afternoon of instruction
and entertainment with support from
NV Energy, The First Tee of Southern
Nevada, UnitedHealthcare and Wells
Fargo.

ceremonies.
Golf fans will have the opportunity to
get inside the ropes and play alongside
the pros during the MGM Resorts International Championship Pro Am on

of the second and third rounds of tournament play Oct. 19 and 20 inside the tournament’s expansive and remodeled hospitality venue. The sounds of Jared Lee,
The Jeremy Cornwell Project and The
Dirty Guv’nahs will amp up after play.
All tournament ticket holders are invited
to stay and enjoy two nights of live music
along with wine and craft beer tastings

Children, the PGA Tour event supports
the hospitals’ mission to provide innovative pediatric specialty care, world-class
research and outstanding medical education regardless of a family’s ability to
pay.

West Career and Technical Academy is one of eight five-star public schools in Summerlin. Eleven out of 12 public schools received four or five stars in an official report released by the
Nevada Education Department in June.
Amenities include top-ranked public, private schools
Twenty-two schools opened their
doors in Summerlin this school year to
more than 35,000 valley students. The
12 public and 10 private educational institutions in the master-planned community include 10 percent of Clark County’s
highest ranking public schools and many
of the valley’s top performing and nationally ranked private schools.
According to a report released in June
by the Nevada Education Department,
six of the community’s 12 Clark County
School District public elementary, middle and high schools received the top
score of five stars in the state’s new critical performance assessment scale. Five
Summerlin public schools received four
stars.
“The vision for Summerlin began with
goals for a hallmark quality of life that
included a quality education for the children here,” said Kevin Orrock, president
of Summerlin and vice president of master-planned communities for The Howard Hughes Corp. “These goals continue
to be met, as is evidenced by the state’s
high rankings of the community’s public
schools, as well as the accomplishments
and reputation of many Summerlin private schools.”
Summerlin public schools that received the top ranking of five stars are
Bonner Elementary, Givens Elementary,
Goolsby Elementary, Staton Elementary, Rogich Middle and West Career
and Technical Academy. Summerlin’s
first public school, Lummis Elementary,
received four stars, along with Richard

Bryan Elementary, Ober Elementary,

The five-star ranked West Career and
Technical Academy opened in 2010 as the
only school in the district with a Google
pilot program. It allows students to create an electronic portfolio, use Google
apps and maintain a Google calendar for
class and homework.
The nontraditional school offers nine
career and technical program areas,
including sports medicine, premedical
sciences, engineering, business, information technology and digital media. It
incorporates an on-campus biological
field station where students work alongside scientists on campus as well as hosts
a greenhouse for biotechnology and botany classes.
“We are unique in that we are both
a career and technical academy and a
college preparatory school,” said Amy
Dockter-Rozar, principal of West CTA.
“The Clark County School District is a
national model for urban career and tech
academies, and West CTA is one of the
flagship schools in that model. Despite
more rigorous criteria, we again earned
five stars by maintaining a comprehensive and targeted curriculum while
building in structured supports for students to succeed.
“That, coupled with offering students
competitive student organizations and
service learning activities has kept us on
top,” she added.
Being on top was part of the blueprint
mapped out by Summerlin’s original
planners and developers.
“They were so committed to education
that they donated 40 acres … to build
Summerlin’s first school, The Meadows
School,” Orrock said.
Meadows, a private college preparatory academy, opened its doors in Summerlin in 1988, three years before the
first family moved into the development.
“The Meadows helped to set the bar
high for education in this community,”
Orrock said.
The school was established by the
founding board president, Carolyn G.
Goodman. The Las Vegas mayor has a
building on the 40-acre campus named in
her honor.
The school offers a variety of advanced placement courses, general education courses and a long list of cultural
and athletic programs. The Meadows
boasts a 100 percent four-year college
placement rate.
The Meadows helped to set

the bar high for education in
this community.’’

President of Summerlin
Other top-performing private schools
in Summerlin include The Adelson Educational Campus, which has produced
consecutive years with 100 percent college graduation and college placement
rates since it opened in 2009; The Alexander Dawson School, a nonsectarian,
coeducational school offering a rigorous liberal arts program for children
in prekindergarten through 12th grade,
as well as a year-round college preparatory program; and Bishop Gorman
High School, a Catholic college preparatory academy that boasts a 100 percent
graduation rate and 96 percent college
enrollment rate, and hosts a strong athletic program that’s earned more than
84 state championships in the school’s
59-year history.

In 1990, when the newly constructed Summerlin Parkway opened, news reporters
dubbed it “the road to nowhere.” Today, the
road to nowhere is the road home for more
than 100,000 residents and thousands of Las
Vegans who golf, shop, dine, work and attend school in the community.
But just exactly where does Summerlin
start and end? Many Las Vegans aren’t clear
on Summerlin’s boundaries because the
community is so expansive, creating the erroneous impression that Summerlin is synonymous with the entire western side the
valley. But in fact, the community is generally bounded by Red Rock Canyon National
Conservation on the west; Hualapai Way
on the east with small fingers extending to
sections of Rampart Boulevard and Buffalo
Drive; Cheyenne Avenue on the north; and
Maule Road on the south.
“But it’s not that simple,” said Julie Cleaver, vice president of planning and design
for The Howard Hughes Corp., developer
of Summerlin. “Within those general guidelines, the boundary takes many twists and
turns to exclude places like Tivoli Village
and Boca Park, which are often assumed to
be in Summerlin, when, in fact, they are outside of the community.”
Thanks to a 23-year branding campaign
that sustains the community’s reputation as
one of the valley’s best places to live, Summerlin has become a household name in
Southern Nevada, according to Brian Gordon, principal of Applied Analysis, who has
conducted considerable market research for
the community.
“Given the community’s name recognition
and impressive resident demographics, it’s
not surprising that businesses that fall outside of the Summerlin boundaries yet cater
to its residents refer to themselves as Summerlin businesses,” Gordon said.
Residents in communities neighboring
Summerlin also claim the master-planned
community as their home, according to
Cleaver, who added that it’s flattering that
so many aspire to claim Summerlin as their
business or resident address. “At the same
time, we want the public to have an accurate
awareness of what is in Summerlin,” she said.
A map is not necessary to determine when
you’re in Summerlin, according to Cleaver,
who cites the community’s iconic monuments, heavily landscaped streets, medians
and sidewalks and signature street lights as
landmarks that help to distinguish the community from adjacent areas.
“Summerlin’s consistently styled and
blended architecture, roundabouts, strategic
signage and plentiful parks give the community a very distinctive look,” she said. “It’s
obvious when you’re in Summerlin, thanks
to the community’s hallmark aesthetic.”
If, however, you’re still wondering where
Summerlin is, here’s the boundary map.

The Summerlin Half Marathon, produced by Desert Sky Adventures, returns in spring 2014 for the fourth annual foot race. The April 12, 2014, event
partners with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Southern Nevada to organize the 13.1-mile run. Participants will

The staff of John Cutter, a restaurant in The Vistas, enjoys the camaraderie of working at
a local restaurant frequented by community residents. From left are Sarah York, Heather
Carpenter, Kristie Morrison and Taylor Christensen.
Summerlin resident builds successful
businesses in his own backyard
In 1995, Las Vegas native Adam Corrigan and his wife, Leah, bought their first
house as newlyweds. It was in the newly
developed Trails village in the thenfledgling Summerlin community.
“I remember when they built the ‘road
to nowhere,’ ” said Corrigan, referring
to the now heavily traveled Summerlin
Parkway.
Corrigan, who attended Bishop Gorman High School, now lives with his wife
and three children at Red Rock Country
Club. He owns, among other commercial
properties in the valley, John Cutter restaurant and bar in Vista Commons shopping complex at West Charleston Boulevard and Desert Foothills Drive.
He describes the business as an early
1900s tavern that serves high-quality,
never frozen ingredients including handcut steaks and homemade burgers. The
venue is detailed with an ornate bar with
video poker but includes a kids menu
and coloring books.
You may have heard the Corrigan
name before. The family is responsible
for popular restaurants across the valley
including the Road Runner chain. Corrigan’s brother operates Vintner Grill, a
high-end Summerlin eatery also on West
Charleston Boulevard.
“We’re all serving the same customers,” said Corrigan, noting the varied restaurant styles and cuisine. “We just want
to be there for the different occasions.”
Corrigan opened John Cutter five
years ago just before the economy
crashed, yet the family-oriented, nonsmoking venue survived.
“We ran it as if there was nothing
wrong,” Corrigan said. They ran it, he
said, grateful for their customers and for
their dedicated employees.
Most of the restaurant’s original staff
is still in place, and Corrigan credits General Manager Kristie Morrison for helping to keep John Cutter afloat. She has
worked for him for more than 12 years.
“I believe the staff tenure comes from
an environment that is professional and
providing, which comes from a family
that has been in the restaurant business
for over 25 years,” Morrison said.
The Corrigan family’s restaurants have
employed as many as 650 people. This
month, 35 more people will be employed
in Summerlin, thanks to Corrigan. In the
same Vistas village complex, adjacent to
John Cutter, he is opening Toros, a Spanish kitchen featuring tapas and paella.
Corrigan says like John Cutter, Toros
will offer only fresh cuisine. Neither restaurant will have a freezer and no smoking is allowed. It’s how the family runs
its restaurants.
“We just kind of do the right thing,”
Corrigan said. “It’s important.”
It was an easy decision for Corrigan
to open another restaurant in Summerlin. Aside from it being close to home, he
says it brings another independent restaurant to the heavily residential area.
“I think Summerlin has a very masterplanned vision,” Corrigan said. “We believed in it, and I think we believe the
same thing for our businesses. Summerlin is a success. Well-planned products
are successful.”

Residents enjoy active lifestyle with neighborhood amenities
A big draw for those who call Summerlin home is access to a numerous amenities that create a culture that encourages
healthy living and an active lifestyle.
With more than 150 parks and more than
150 miles of trails for running, walking
and cycling, Summerlin is, by design,
built to give residents opportunities for
exercise right at their doorsteps. In fact,
in resident surveys, Summerlin trails
consistently rank as the most popular
amenity with more than 70 percent of respondents indicating they hit the trail at
least once every few weeks.
“The planners and developers of this
master-planned community consider
a variety of amenities to help enhance
lifestyle and build a culture of active
outdoor engagement for residents,” said
Julie Cleaver, vice president of planning
and design for Summerlin.
“Nowhere else in the valley will you
find so many parks with such a variety
of activities for children as well as adults
to enjoy.”

parks to larger community sports and

of choices for outdoor activities: organized T-ball and baseball leagues as well
as unstructured play on the many lighted
tennis and basketball courts, sand volleyball courts, soccer fields and tot lots. Several community centers offer residents
activities such as Pilates, martial arts
and fat-burning and sculpting classes.
And for the hot summer months, Summerlin residents have exclusive access
to several community pools as well as
the Pavilion Center Pool near Palo Verde
High School. Pavilion Center Pool is operated by the city of Las Vegas for the
general public.
Also open to anyone in the valley are
Summerlin’s nine public and private golf
courses. These include the state’s only
two Tournament Players Club courses,
TPC Summerlin and TPC Las Vegas,
both hosts to PGA tournaments. TPC
Summerlin will host the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open FedExCup tournament this month.
Indoor exercise opportunities also
abound in Summerlin, home to the
valley’s only Life Time Athletic, a
200,000-plus-square-foot fitness facility
that is part country club, part exercise
facility. It includes more than 400 pieces of cardio, resistance and free-weight
training equipment, as well as a rock
climbing wall and a pool with a two-story
water slide. 24 Hour Fitness Super Sport,
named Best Big-Box Gym by Fitness
magazine, also gives area residents a serious workout with a variety of exercise
equipment and group exercise classes.
Both Life Time Athletic and 24 Hour
Fitness Super Sport in Summerlin are
finalists in the Best of Summerlin 2013
competition.
Culture meets community
at Nevada Ballet Theatre
Cultural life and opportunities are often overlooked in a tourist destination
such as Las Vegas, where the myriad
entertainment offerings tend to overshadow local cultural institutions that
exist beyond the glitz and glamour of
the Strip. The 42-year-old Nevada Ballet
Theatre is a clear exception as the state’s
oldest and still thriving performing arts
company. Fortunately for residents of
Summerlin, Nevada Ballet Theatre’s
headquarters are nestled in the heart of
the master-planned community.
Although Nevada Ballet Theatre is considered a resident performing company
at The Smith Center for the Performing
Arts, all other company operations are
in Summerlin, including management,
marketing and administration. Because
dancers rehearse and take daily classes
at the Summerlin facility, they are a
common sight in the community.
“Their presence, alone, adds an air of
culture and sophistication to our community,” said Danielle Bisterfeldt, mar-
keting director of Summerlin. “NBT is
a major contributor to the arts scene in
Summerlin, and we are delighted the
company calls our community home.”
Lauded for the quality of its dance facility, considered among the very best
in the nation, Summerlin has been home
to Nevada Ballet Theatre’s professional
company, affiliated academy and education and outreach programs since 1999
— providing the necessary foundation
and nurturing suburban atmosphere
needed to grow. From participation in
the Summerlin Arts Festival to other
community-based initiatives, Nevada
Ballet Theatre remains focused on educating local audiences through premier
dance collaborations and providing community exposure to internationally recognized guest artists from the national
and international arts scene.

differently.
The Summerlin Council functions similarly to a parks and recreation department. Among
the council’s many responsibilities is planning and executing more than a dozen annual
events and seasonal celebrations, such as the Pumpkin Festival, exclusively for residents.
Council at heart of community
Buying a home in Summerlin offers
much more than four walls and a roof. It’s
a package deal that comes with a robust
calendar of seasonal celebrations and special events; classes and workshops; youth
and adult sports leagues; and 5k runs and
walks — all planned exclusively for residents through the Summerlin Council, the
nonprofit arm of the Summerlin Community Association that functions similar to
a parks and recreation department.
Each year, the Summerlin Council
plans and executes more than a dozen
annual events, offers nearly 100 community classes and youth camps, and assists
local volunteers with the organization of
11 youth and adult sports leagues including T-ball, softball, soccer and tennis. To
keep residents informed of these opportunities, the council maintains a residentcentric website and prepares and distributes monthly and quarterly publications
to the 100,000-plus residents living in the
master-planned community.
“And that’s just the short list of the many
functions performed by the Summerlin
Council,” said Randy Ecklund, executive
director of the Summerlin Community Association and Summerlin Council management operations. “Dedicated to the social,
cultural and physical enrichment of residents, the Summerlin Council is responsible, in large part, for the quality of life for
which the community is known.
“The extent of the council’s work and
impact on the community is immeasurable,” he said.
The council was created in 1997 by The
Howard Hughes Corp., the community’s
developer, to plan and execute activities
and maintain parks and other common
areas for residents.
“As a result, the Summerlin Council is
at the heart of the community in many
ways,” Ecklund said.
For many Summerlin dwellers, the
annual events coordinated by the Summerlin Council have become family traditions. Seasonal celebrations such as the
Egg Hunt, Pumpkin Festival, Firecracker
5k, Hometown Holidays and Snow Day
give residents a reason to celebrate just
about every holiday and season.
The Summerlin Patriotic Parade, which
began 19 years ago as a small community
event for residents only, has grown into
the valley’s largest July 4 parade that
is open to the public and draws nearly
40,000 attendees.
“Every year, our family goes to the
Summerlin Patriotic Parade,” said Mark
Hutchison, who has lived in Summerlin
with his wife and six children since 1992.
“It’s an honor to celebrate the values of
America and the enjoyment of our civil
liberties with our friends and neighbors
in our community.”
Classes offered by the council cover a
variety of subjects, including health and
fitness, arts and crafts, continuing education, personal enrichment, and home and
family. Classes are available to residents
of all ages.
Residents are kept informed of the
class schedules through two publications
printed by The Summerlin Council: a
catalog called Experience and a monthly
newsletter called Summerlines.

Located high above the Las Vegas Valley, where Desert Inn Road meets the
mountains, The Ridges is aptly named.
The area’s dramatic rocky ridges and
nearby Red Rock Canyon form the foundation of the community’s elegant design aesthetic while creating a stunning
backdrop that’s impossible to replicate
in Southern Nevada. Today, The Ridges
is one of the most spectacular custom
home sites in Las Vegas.
Homes in The Ridges are required to
embody the community’s desert contemporary style and design guidelines, ensuring consistency and quality throughout. Yet, creativity is beautifully and
uniquely expressed in the designs of the
region’s premier architects.
According to Marc LeMoine, principal
of Marc LeMoine Architecture, who is
responsible for designing no fewer than
15 homes in The Ridges, the guidelines
help architects design substantial homes
that become part of the enhanced desert
environment.
“I am always looking for a unique architectural expression of my clients’ design goals and the opportunities afforded
by their property,” LeMoine said. “The
Ridges is a community without aesthetic
design or construction, and sales of custom lots are brisk.
At the center of The Ridges is Bear’s
Best Las Vegas, a Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course that features replications of his most famous holes from
courses throughout the Southwest; and
Club Ridges, a private health, fitness,
tennis and swim facility designed exclusively for Ridges’ residents.
The Ridges is home to many of the valley’s top influencers — from CEOs to celebrities. Among those who call the area
home are famed guitarist Carlos Santana
and renowned nature photographer Peter Lik.
Interior designer Cary Vogel of Interiors by Vogel, and his partner, Lance

years and are still exhilarated by the
magnificent views each time they drive
