(7).
Furthermore, we would like to tell you
about the participation in a DAAD
network conference (8). You can also
take a look at our recent graduates (9)
and the upcoming events (10) on the
bottom of the last page.
Do you wish to improve your German skills? Then take
part in our “Deutsch-Café” which takes place once a
month! You will be invited via e-mail.
|
The aim of this event is to offer our students a platform
to apply and improve their German skills whilst talking
with members of the International Academy and their
fellow students in German in an informal get-together.
There were several topic proposals that could be
discussed at different tables accompanied by some
drinks and sweets.
Students with all kinds of German levels are encouraged
to join the event – so please don’t be shy!
Wir freuen uns schon sehr!
Bis bald!

Best of Class Award
Career Day
The RWTH International Academy’s ‘Best of Class Award’
is established a scholarship of excellence to honour
young talents with outstanding achievements. It is
awarded each semester. In the winter semester
2015/2016, students from the following programmes
could apply:
(1) CAME
(2) MME-EPS
(3) MME-PS
(4) PSE
(5) Textile Engineering
It is our pleasure to honor our excellent students in their
first or third semester in each Master's degree
programme with the Best of Class Award. Our warmest
congratulations go out to you and do remember the
parental advice: "Keep up the good work"! The official
award ceremony will be held later this summer.
The RWTH International Academy’s annual Career Day
took place on June 9, 2016. It provides our international
master students of mechanical, electrical and industrial
engineering as well as physicist insights into career
perspectives, ranging from industrial positions to an
academic path in Germany and the Netherlands. Here
are some impressions of the event:
Mayur Hole (CAME 2015)
Suren Shashikant Saptasagar (MME-EPS 2015)
Omkar Dhikale (MME-PS 2015)
Venkataramanan Segar (PSE 2015)
George Joseph Thomas (Textile 2015)

SuS “Automation and Simulation”
SuS “Systematic Product Innovation”
This year´s Summer School “Automation and Simulation”
started on July 11 and ended on July 29, 2016. The
international students both participated in German
classes and engineering classes which were held by The
Institute of General Mechanics (IAM) and the Language
Center (Sprachenzentrum). Our students enjoyed events
such as the CHIO horse show, a day trip to Cologne,
cooking night, karaoke night, visit of the Research
Institute Jülich, soccer tournament and many more.
Our “Systematic Product Innovation” Summer School
2016 ran from July 4 to July 15. Students were exposed
to such topics as the principles of product innovations,
product design and construction, machine design and
cooperative product development. Social events such as
“Cooking at your Buddy´s place” were arranged. Every
student is allocated to a Buddy who is already a
registered student at RWTH. The cooking event is
especially popular to get best insights into Aachen´s
student life.

This year´s Summer School “Mechatronics System
Engineering and Product Innovation” took place from
July 18 to July 29. The Summer School topics were
conceptualized and conducted by the Institute for
Engineering Design (IKT), the Institute for Theoretical
Information technology (TI), and the Institute of
Mechanism Theory and Dynamics of Machines (IGM).
Our students also participated in an intercultural
workshop and enjoyed their time in Aachen and its
surroundings to their fullest. Organized day trips to
Monschau and Burg Vogelsang were attractive to learn
more about Germany´s history. Moreover, a day trip to
Maastricht, soccer games, a scavenger hunt in Aachen
and many more activities were organized.
DAAD Networking Conference
The IntAc team took part in a two-day DAAD
networking conference this July which was very
successful. Lots of representatives of DAAD
information centers worldwide came “home” to the
DAAD headquarter in Bonn in order to exchange ideas
about new developments in university coorperations,
conception of new study programmes, marketing
activities and funding opportunities. The Master Office
team had very fruitful meetings with representatives
from Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Mexico,
Taiwan, Cuba, Chile and Peru. We hope that we can be
welcoming new students from these countries in the
future batches soon.
