Welcome back! We have been anxiously awaiting your return. While you have been gone there has been a lot going on… Your Board of Directors has been busy meeting with engineers and working for the building’s 40 year certification. For the most part, electrical, plumbing, elevators, and fire systems will pass the certification. However, we do know that there is a concrete blemish and the eleven (11) line still needs to be done. The Board of Directors has been meeting with Thadeus Hamilton who is running for Commissioner of Agriculture to discuss exploring grants for conversion of the outside lighting to solar power. Of course we have been hard at work always thinking of ways to improve your homes so that you will be pleasantly surprised by all the nice changes. Here is an update of what your Board, janitorial, and maintenance staff have been up to while you are gone: • All carpets on every floor have been sanitized and shampooed. • All floors have been buffed, polished, and sealed. • All elevators have been replaced and remodeled. • All elevators now have security cameras. • There are brand new security cameras around INSIDE THIS ISSUE the complex including by the bicycle rack (several bikes were stolen). Continued on page 2 Community Photos........... 5 Page 2 Lake Point Tower October 2014 President (cont. from page 1) • The rear entryway has been resurfaced and cosmetically updated with a protective canopy. • The freight button now responds independently so you should press the elevator button for your carts and when in wet bathing suits. • There are brand new pictures throughout the building thanks to Myriam Brandenburg our resident interior decorator. • All irrigation repairs have been completed and there are fresh annuals planted outside the building. • There are 32 light fixtures in the parking lot and we are looking to convert solar energy on each light post. • The garbage dumpsters have been relocated to the visitor parking lot so that residents are not bothered by the noise of the garbage trucks and the smell of the dumpsters. • There is a brand new Weber barbeque grill for your enjoyment. • There is a new golf cart for security patrol and maintenance use. • Roof repairs have been completed in the penthouse units. • Drain lines have been repaired. • Sink holes have been filled and repaired. • A new insurance policy has been negotiated with lower rates. Page 4 Lake Point Tower October 2014 Shopping Carts There have been several times when residents have come home with packages only to find that there have not been shopping carts to use to for bringing up their items to the unit. Please remember that shopping carts which to be returned after their use immediately to the new shopping corral. Trash Chutes Please remember that only household garbage is permitted down the trash chute and recycling is carried down to the recycling area on the first floor. One of the residents reported that there were large pieces of wood jammed down the chute. This causes damage to the trash chute and is very expensive to repair!! Halloween The office will be closed on Friday, October 31st due to the fact that we have all been requested that we need to be at a court trial on that date and the Board and the Property Manager will be at the trial.
