Project Rationale/Background
Pakistan is a developing country with very low development indicators, more than 37% of people
living below poverty line. In last ten years, many natural and manmade disasters occurred in
Pakistan, like earthquakes, floods, and IDPs issues. Still there is armed conflict in some parts of the
country. Due to all these reasons, country is becoming poorer. Due to disasters and other reasons
many children have become orphans. There is lot of need to support to continue education and
livelihood of the orphan. RHDF, from its inception, working for the betterment of the poor and
ignored segment of the society. RHDF has orphans support program having comprehensive approach
to caring for orphans. Under this program, we support orphans children and make various significant
strides to meet their multiple basic needs such as education, food, health and psychosocial needs as
we believe that orphan children are entitled to be educated, clothed, healthful and confident in the
same as the other fortunate children in the society.
Keeping all above in the view, RHDF identified 50 orphan and families of UC Kirpa, Farash Town,
rural community of Islamabad and provided them Ramadan/Eid gifts/food packages to meet their
