Teddy Bear Class
February was a great month full of
wonderful opportunities to show
love: Dad’s Day, Coin Drive to help
those less fortunate, Valentine’s Day
& Preschool Sunday at IUMC. What a
great month we had! Now… March is
the month to begin thinking SPRING!! We will be
studying the color green, the diamond shape, and
the number 7. The weather changes will be a big
part of the month of March, as well as St.
Patrick’s Day.
The Art Gala is in April and we will be creating
artwork for that special occasion so you may not
see a lot of projects come home this month.
A big thank you to Elliot’s Grandma for the
picture frames and Ava’s Grandma for helping
Miss Maeve for the last 30 minutes of the day so
Miss Lisa could leave for a doctor appointment.
Joyfully,
Butterfly Class &
Caterpillar Class
February was a lovely month for the
Butterflies & Caterpillars! We worked so
hard on our Dad’s Day gifts during the
month of January. We were so happy to
finally celebrate Dad’s Day! We made
stepping stones for our dads. Valentines
were a big hit, too!
In March, the color is blue, and the shape is the diamond.
We continue working very hard to prepare all of our
artwork for the upcoming Art Gala in April.
Don’t forget spring break is coming!! We are looking forward
to warmer temperatures. As the
weather improves we will be going
outside more so please bring
appropriate gear for your child.
Miss Linda & Miss Shannon
Miss Lisa & Miss Maeve
Hi, Turtle Friends! Thank you for all of your awesome efforts in the February Coin Drive!
We continue working on our letters and will enjoy a “Dr. Seuss” thematic unit. This will incorporate word recognition and rhyming words. Rhyming fun has just begun! Dr. Seuss was a
master at rhyming. We would love each Turtle to bring in his/her favorite Dr. Seuss book to
share with the class during the month of March. Please be sure to have your name somewhere
on the book so we can keep track of who the books belong to.
The month of March also brings St. Patrick’s Day. We will go green with our fun “Luck of the Irish” activities. We will also soon be sending home progress reports. Our time in Chapel usually involves a story, songs
and open discussions about characters from the Bible and our love for God. This month in Chapel, we will
be concentrating on Jesus, His life and preparing for Easter. We will work on Easter activities both Christian
and secular (such as the Easter Bunny, Easter Eggs, and Easter Bonnets). In Australia, where Mrs. McKiernan
grew up, they have an Easter Hat Parade each year. We will make bonnets and parade through the school
wearing them. This will take place prior to Spring Break.)
We will be taking a field trip to fire station #10 this month, check our parent board for details!
We are anxiously awaiting the Art Gala, and we cannot wait to share the wonderful artistic talents of the Turtle class! We look forward to seeing you when you visit our classroom.
Thank you to our parent volunteers who helped make our Valentine's party fun!
Slainte,
Mrs. McKiernan & Ms. Walk

Bunny Class
The Bunnies are getting to know each other better each week. Some are
calling their friends by name. Routines are an important part of school life
and the Bunnies are very aware of the order of our day. Verbal skills of
listening and speaking are a main focus in the Bunnies class so we ask the
students to name objects and repeat words as best they can.
The Art Gala is in the April and we will be creating artwork for that special
occasion so you may not see a lot of projects come home this month.
Joyfully,
Miss Lisa & Miss Maeve
Lion Class
Tiger Class
Hi Lions!
We are
gearing
up for
our unit
on fairy
tales,
shamrocks and spring. If
your child has a favorite
fairy tale book, please bring
it to school, and we will read
it during circle time. On
March 24th we will dress up
as our favorite pretend
characters as we celebrate
fun stories that might teach
us valuable lessons. We will
also learn about our
community helpers. We are
preparing for the Art Gala in
April. The children are
working very hard to create
wonderful masterpieces!

Penguin Class
The color for
March is green, and
the shape is a
diamond. Some of
our themes for
March will be St. Patrick, fire
safety, and lots of art to prepare
for our Art Gala.
With the Art Gala coming up in
April we will become famous
artists through history. Watch us
become Michelangelo and paint
laying on the floor under the
tables, which will become our
“ceiling”. We will also finger
paint to the sound of Mozart.
Please keep in mind that, with
the changing weather we will be
going outside whenever we can,
so please send your child in
appropriate clothes and shoes as
well as jackets, gloves, and hats.
With your child growing so fast,
you may want to double check to
make sure that your child’s extra
clothes kept at preschool still fit!
Happy belated birthday to
Zeruiah!
A BIG shout out to all our
parents that went on our field
trip! Thank you.
We are going to the fire station
in March—check parent board
for details!
Thank You!

Dolphin Class
February was wonderful with our
Dad’s Day Celebration and Valentine’s
Day Party. The children were
wonderful on Preschool Sunday! In March, we will
cover units on Noah’s Ark, Art & Artists, which, of
course, will lead us into the Art Gala, and Easter.
The Dolphins have been very busy preparing many
beautiful works of art for the Art Gala and Open
House coming up in April. Please plan now to have
the whole family attend.
Mrs. Steuer & Mrs. Walk
Owl Class
Thank you so much
for taking time away
from your own churches and spending
Preschool Sunday with us at IUMC.
Your children are always a joy and a
blessing to us all.
In preparation for the annual IUMC Preschool Art Gala,
the children will be working on many kinds of art to
display for our friends and families. We will focus on
how we are all love.
In order for your child to have enough frame-able art, as
well as classroom displayed art, being on time is
essential. Other than, of course, sickness or vacations,
please remember making up an art project is not always
possible.
Thank you to all of our brave parents who have planned
and run our Christmas and Valentine parties.
As well, thank you for your generosity in our coin drive.
The kiddos have had a blast dropping their coins in the
wishing well.
