Fruitport High School Honor Grads
Lindsay Rachel Armstrong,
daughter of Darryl and Karen
Armstrong, will attend Aquinas
College to pursue a veterinary
career. Lindsay participated in
soccer and volleyball. She also
participated in mission trips,
National Honor Society, and
Student Athlete Leadership
Team.
Rachael Nicole Folkmier,
daughter of David Folkmier
and Teresa Folkmier, will attend
Michigan State University to
become a surgeon. She was
active in track, volleyball,
and basketball. Rachael was
a member of student council,
National Honor Society, and
Spanish Club.
Ryan Scott McKellar, son
of Scott and Kathy McKellar,
will attend Michigan State
University to study chemical
engineering. He was active
in soccer, snowboarding, and
basketball.
Andrea Ruth Ritz, daughter

daughter of Tim and Lori
H a g g e r t y, w i l l a t t e n d
Muskegon Community
College to pursue a degree in
psychology. Sara was a member
of Business Professionals of
America and National Honor
Society. She also participated
in tennis and band.
Caitlin Josephine
Hegenbart , daughter of
Michael and Lisa Hegenbart,
will attend the University of
Michigan to study foreign
language and linguistics. She
was a member of National
Honor Society and participated
in Tae Kwon Do and after
school drama productions.
Lauren Hazekamp, daughter
of Dave and Julie Hazekamp,
will attend Hope College in the
fall to study physical therapy.
She was active in volleyball,
soccer, and basketball. Lauren
served as president of the
National Honor Society.
Carly Ann Hoekenga,
daughter of Richard and
Kelly Hoekenga, will attend
Muskegon Community
College to pursue a degree
in nursing with a minor in
Spanish. She was a member
of student council, National
Honor Society, and DECA.
Carly also participated in
varsity golf.
2012
of Don and Teresa Ritz, will
attend Central Michigan
University to pursue a business
degree with a Spanish minor.
Andrea was a member of
Business Professionals of
America, student council and
National Honor Society.
M a l l o r y J o e l l e Ve s t ,
daughter of Joseph and
Myriam Vest, plans to attend
Cambellsville University. She
was active in DECA, SALT,
National Honor Society, and
student council. Mallory
volunteered in many church
activities. She was a member
of the cross country, basketball
and track teams.
Taren Keith , daughter of
Rodney and Mary Keith, will
attend Grand Valley State
University Honors College to
study special education. Taren
was a member of Imagery,
Upstagers, and National Honor
Society. She also volunteered
as a Sunday school teacher.
Calvary Christian School graduates
Patrick Thomas Asdell ,
the son of Thomas and Judith
Asdell, will be graduating with
honors. He was on the all-A
honor roll for four years. He has
played varsity basketball for
four years and will be attending
Cornerstone University in the
fall to get a degree in secondary
mathematics education.
Joelle Clarisse Byers will
attend Faith Baptist Bible
College in Ankeny, Iowa to
pursue a degree in elementary
education. She is the daughter
of Scott and Rosanne Byers.
Joelle participated in her
church youth group, student
council, and Talents for Christ
competition. She was also
a member of band and is
passionate about music.
Guthrie Austin Collins
is the son of Jerry and Ruth
Collins. He will be attending
Ferris State University in the
fall to pursue a degree in
professional golf management.
Guthrie plays varsity
basketball, varsity soccer,
varsity track, and varsity golf.
Guthrie also works at Arby’s.
Matthew Galen Newton
is the son of Kevin and Carol
Newton. He plans on attending
Muskegon Community College
in the fall. He participated in
his church youth group and
volunteers at the Muskegon
Rescue Mission.

David Carl Thomas
Borgeson, the son of Greg
and Kim (Tozer) Borgeson will
be graudating with honors
from Calvary Christian School.
He plans to attend Muskegon
Community College for one
year and then transfer to the
University of Michigan to
study pre-medicine. David is
the president of the Calvary
Christian Schools chapter of
the National Honor Society.
Throughout high school,
David has participated in varsity soccer, varsity
basketball, varsity track and field, and is a member of the
concert band and choir. David has served as a volunteer
at Hackley Hospital for over five years, and is very active
in his church.
Sydni Jo Elise Clark will
attend Indiana Wesleyan
University to pursue a degree
in illustration, art education
or graphic design. She
is the daughter of Richard
and LuSinda Clark, and has
participated in varsity soccer,
cheerleading, basketball,
volleyball, and track. Sydni has
also been part of her church
youth group and plans to go
on a mission trip to Newark,
New Jersey this summer.
Jade Alan Kroening, the son
of Scott and Jodie Kroening, has
been involved in soccer, band,
and numerous community
and missions works through
his church. He plans to
attend Belmont University
in Nashville, Tennessee, to
pursue a major in audio
engineering technology, with
a minor in music business.
Randy Lee Ortquist is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Randy
Ortquist. Randy plans on
attending Muskegon
Community College in the fall
to pursue a degree in business.
He has played varsity golf
and soccer for three years. A
member of student council, he
also volunteered at many nonprofit organizations around
the Muskegon area.
Drew
Anthony
Rosencrants is the son of
Scott and Nancy Rosencrants.
Drew has played varsity
soccer for four years and was
awarded “all conference” and
“honorable mention” each
year. He has been a member of
the high school band for four
years. Drew has also been a
member of and co-captain of
the Calvary golf team for the
past three years. Drew plans on attending Muskegon
Community College in the fall.
Patrick Jonathan Stewart,
the son of Joe and Chris Stewart,
plans to attend Muskegon
Community College in the fall.
He plans on transferring to
Ferris State University to study
sports management.
Katie Lyn Vander Velde is
the daughter of Pamela Vander
Velde. Katie plans on pursuing
a career as a medical clerk or
nanny. Throughout her high
school years, she served at her
church and in the community.
Katie was president of the
senior class and served on the
student council committee.
