Terrorism and healthcare were the two most talked-about topics Thursday night at a town hall meeting with U.S.
Rep. Scott DesJarlais at the Westbury House in Columbia.

But the conversation between DesJarlais and his constituents kept reverting back to a single topic: dissatisfaction
with the Obama administration.
“President Obama should be impeached,” DesJarlais said. “It’s not easy to impeach a president. But if you tell me
how to do it, I’ll do it.”
Citizens of Tennessee’s 4th District, which includes Columbia, Murfreesboro, Winchester and Cleveland, criticized
both the president and Congress and asked DesJarlais how and when he would address their concerns.
“I don’t think there’s any doubt that America is war-weary,” DesJarlais said when the discussion turned to the
Islamic State. “But do you feel that you would be receptive to boots on the ground if it got to that point with ISIS?”

“Throughout history, there have been only two effective ways of dealing with
radical Muslims,” one man said. “Kill them or convert them.”
Another audience member suggested there were more pressing problems on the
home front.
“Before we send our military out, Congress needs to get serious and deal with
our treasonous president,” the man said. “He has turned his back on the military
and veterans.”
There was also buzz at the event about the failure of Gov. Bill Haslam’s Insure
Tennessee proposal, which would have used Medicaid expansion funds.

“Medicaid expansion is an extension of the president’s healthcare plan, simple
as that,” DesJarlaid said.
He ended the discussion on healthcare by saying, “Our best chance of repealing
Obamacare must fall to the Supreme Court.”
