Year 9 In
Search Of
Cup Success
The boys from Year 9 kicked off their
cup run against Hartsdown with a
comfortable win on a difficult pitch.
Two weeks later, in round two Harvey
Grammar provided a far sterner test.
Scoring early put Harvey in the
driving seat and despite multiple
efforts from Lewis Doyle, DC were 1-0
down at half time. The introduction of
Nick Terziyski up front livened things
up and finally produced an opening
and Dane Court drew level. The game
progressed into extra time and
eventually Dane Court converted
their pressure into another goal to
produce victory. However the
celebrations were short lived, when
the minibus broke down leaving the
team stranded for three hours.
Our next opponents were Herne Bay
High and again we found ourselves
losing, letting in two sloppy goals.
Once more the team rallied together
and produced some excellent football,
scoring four goals through Walton,
Moir and the excellent Powell and
Bullard to win 4 - 2.

Year 9 Boys with a great win against Harvey Grammar
Chris “Cooks” Up Interest...
Our Year Seven students were very fortunate to have the opportunity
to listen to Olympic swimmer CHRIS COOK on Tuesday 26th
November. Chris is an inspirational speaker and the delivery of his
message-‘ set your goals and even if you hit an obstacle, learn from
it and don’t give up’ was very well-received. Chris was very
impressed with the welcome and attention he received from our
students and is looking forward to visiting us again.

January 11th at 10am will see a
quarter final at Dane Court, please
come along and support.
Sport Leaders Invite...
'Aren't they *ny' was the cry from the Sports Leaders as Haddon Dene turned up for a fun a9ernoon of ac*vi*es organised by Miss Riley's group. A9er a quick change of equipment to accommodate the youngsters, the a9ernoon got underway. What followed was great excitement, enthusiasm and fantas*c fun. The Sport Leaders were superb as they guided, encouraged and supported the group of forty 5 and 6 year olds around an obstacle course. A special men*on must be given to Louis Clarke who must have made over 400 football saves during the course of the session; A great success. The Haddon Dene students went home excited and s*ll full of beans whilst our Leaders hit their beds very early, exhausted but delighted that everything went well.

BOYS REPORT
•••
Both of our U15 Handball teams
emerged victorious from the Thanet
Handball Tournament. With the boys
and girls teams securing success
against both Ursuline and Chatham
and Clarendon they will now go on to
represent Thanet at the Kent School
Games next year.
The boys passed the ball well to
secure two relatively comfortable
victories. Whereas the girls had to
work extremely hard and it took an
extraordinary goal from Morgan
Theodosiou (our goalkeeper!!!!) to
secure a 1-0 victory over Chatham
and Clarendon in their last game.
Well done to all involved!
Hartwell Loves to Score in the Cup
Following in the footsteps of the Year
9 boys, the year 7 team have made it
into the quarter final of the Kent
Cup. Having already beaten Castle
Community and Dover Grammar
Schools, we hosted Simon Langton
Grammar and were soon 1-0 down.
At this point, our midfield took total
control with Finlay Jarman-Hume
pulling all the strings. The increased
pressure brought 4 well taken goals
for Mackenzie-Hartwell and an
another for substitute Rhu Galloway.
The boys handball team celebrating
alongside the successful girls team
Mr Wallace delivering some interesting
words at half time.
Year 11 Football
The U16 boys continued their Kent Cup run with a convincing 4-0 victory over
Fulston Manor. Dane Court dominated the game and played some excellent
football; Alfie Foster scoring a hatrick, including two well placed free kicks. Todd
Jordan scored Dane Court’s other goal to consolidate what was a well deserved
victory. Dane Court are now through to the quarter finals and will be hoping to
reach the final and go on to win, as they have previously done twice before.
Year 7&9 Futsal Success
After a slow start to their first Futsal tournament, the Year 7s soon warmed to their
task. Victories over the Ursuline and King Ethelbert got us into a rhythm, so when
they played big rivals St Georges we dominated from the start, with superb
performances form the whole squad. This left us with two more games to play, and
another pair of sterling performances brought us overall victory and takes us
forward to the County Finals. The year 9 team also claimed their title going through
the tournament unbeaten.
NETTING PLENTY OF FISH...
Ollie Hampton-‐Saint is clearly a man with a keen eye for fishing. He recently WON the Bri*sh Open in October 2013 which places him as No. 1 in England for Under 16 sea shore fishing!
Moreover, he has spent a day with the England Squad and has been invited to apply for membership of the Home and Interna*onal Under 16 Junior Sea Angling Team 2014.
His passion for fishing is obvious and we wish Ollie all the best in his future fishing career!

Futsal Success
November saw the girls Futsal teams achieve a clean sweep in the District tournaments, which was an excellent achievement. The U12 team are quite small in stature but what they lack in height they make up for in skill and they were always going to be strong contenders. However, they drew their first two matches, albeit against strong teams. Goal difference was thus going to be the deciding factor and the team delivered by scoring 11 goals in ten MESSAGE FROM M
