VALENTINE’S DAY ROMANCE
ON THE MORNINGTON PENINSULA
Intimate dinners, magical entertainment, white sandy beaches
for moonlit strolls and warm mineral bathing under the stars
It’s one of the most romantic destinations in Victoria – so why not express your love or rekindle your romance on the
Mornington Peninsula this Valentine’s weekend. We have exquisite suites, intimate dinners, magical entertainment, beautiful
gifts and white sandy beaches for moonlit strolls.
And if you’re seeking the perfect place to say ‘marry me’, there are grand gardens, remote clifftops, deserted ocean beaches
and bird-filled bushlands.
Lindenderry at Red Hill is set in 30 acres of vines, landscaped gardens and lakes, and promises an unforgettable Valentine’s
Day. Book the ‘Lunch and Lovin’ package and you’ll wander off into the gardens with a gourmet picnic hamper and a bottle of
estate-grown wine, then stay overnight in five-star luxury and enjoy a lazy full breakfast next morning. From $326 per couple,
more information and bookings at www.lancemore.com.au.
Brooklands of Mornington (www.brooklandsofmornington.com.au) suggests arriving on Sunday afternoon for high tea in the
sunny gardens, followed by a tapas platter in Gillo’s Bar before retiring to your spacious deluxe spa suite. In the morning, a
romantic champagne breakfast will be delivered to your room to enjoy in bed or in your private courtyard. $390 per couple,
book on 03 5973 9200.
Limetree Hideaway at Dunns Creek Estate (www.dunnscreek.com.au) will woo you with a Valentine’s Day Package
including luxury accommodation on February 13 and 14, two complimentary all day passes to Peninsula Hot Springs plus
a celebratory bottle of Mornington Peninsula sparkling wine. There’s a double spa bath, a gourmet kitchen if you’d like to
snuggle in for the night, and your obliging hosts will organise champagne on ice, chocolates and freshly cut red roses
if requested. $550 per couple for two nights.
There are still a few fully self contained apartments left at Quest Frankston (www.questapartments.com.au), which is close
to Frankston foreshore if you fancy a romantic stroll along the beach. Call 03 8796 1000 for accommodation between
Friday February 11 and Monday 14, quote ‘Facebook’ and you’ll receive sparkling wine and chocolates on arrival plus a late
checkout at 11am.
Now, what about that romantic evening? Montalto Vineyard and Olive Grove (www.montalto.com.au) has that most famous
love story of all on Sunday February 13, when a twilight performance of Romeo and Juliet takes place on the lawn in front
of the restaurant. The performance only is $45 per person, or you can book the Sweethearts package for $140 for two,
including the performance, a bottle of Pennon Hill wine or two glasses of Montalto Cuvee, plus a tasting platter to share.
Morning Star Estate (www.morningstarestate.com.au) at Mount Eliza has one of the most spectacular settings
on the Mornington Peninsula, with vineyards and lavish gardens overlooking the sea. Under the stars on
Saturday February 12 from 7.15pm you’ll be enchanted and entertained by Pot-Pourri and acclaimed soprano
Greta Bradman (granddaughter of Sir Donald Bradman) as they sing your favourite Broadway and opera classics.
General admission is $59.30, VIP tickets $130 including a three-course meal, wine and reserved area, and Hamper tickets
are $95, including a three-course hamper which must be ordered at least 48 hours prior.
La Petanque Restaurant (www.lapetanque.com.au) at Main Ridge is perfectly French, perfectly charming and perfect for a
romantic lunch or dinner over the weekend and on Valentine’s Day. Arrive early, and you can enjoy a game of petanque
or wander through the pretty gardens which surround this rustic restaurant.
Nearby, at Max’s Restaurant at Red Hill Estate (www.redhillestate.com.au), owner/chef Max Paganoni has dreamed up
the ‘Food for Love’ dinner for Valentine’s Day on February 14. Put a sparkle in your eyes with a glass of bubbly on arrival,
then enjoy a superb 4-course menu as you look out over the vineyards and countryside towards Port Philip Bay. $95 per
person, bookings essential. Max’s Retreat at Red Hill is also available that evening for $220 per couple, including full breakfast
provisions and a bottle of Red Hill Estate sparkling wine.
If a seaside dinner followed by a moonlit stroll takes your fancy, the Rye Hotel (www.ryehotel.com.au) will welcome you
to a 3-course dinner including a glass of Juliet wine from T’Gallant Winery. Every diner goes into the draw to win a lunch
or dinner at T’Gallant Winery to the value of $100. Bookings essential on 03 5985 2277.
And if you’re thinking about a surprise gift for your Valentine, Cheryl Petersen Galleries (www.cherylpetersengalleries.com)

has tempting hamper gifts from less than $50 to $200, including indulgent pamper hampers. You can order online or visit
