Neighborhood Corner:
Bridge Anyone?: Anne Deckert is looking for anyone that is interested in
playing bridge one or two evenings or afternoons each month. You can contact her
under “Bridge” in the “Contacts” tab at myserenoa.com.
Alarm Contacts: Planning on going away for a while?
Please make
sure and update your alarm contact information with your alarm company and a
trusted neighbor. We recently had an alarm sound at a house with invalid contact
information that caused problems for the owners, their neighbors and the police.
Do you know of contractors, handymen, lawn-care,
painters, etc., that you would recommend? We have had quite
a few new neighbors added to Serenoa lately and they are looking for workers
that we have used and would recommend. The list includes lawn and pool care,
plumbers, electricians, roofing, painters, drywall, tree trimmers, etc. We would like
to build a list that we could include in our welcome package as well as be available
for all our residents for their use. Please forward information on anyone you would
recommend to John Rice using the “Newsletter” contact, in the Contacts Tab at
myserenoa.com, or drop it in my mail tube as listed in your directory.
Board Meeting:
SCA Board Meeting is August 15, 2011 at the Club House.
As a reminder, Serenoa does have
a leash law for all your pets....

The summer Bunco play was held at the
home of the Bells on July 13 with four full
tables of dice-rollin’ women!! The most Buncos
prize $$ was shared this time by Linda Moody,
Debbie Johnson, and Carolyn Masters with two
Buncos each. Suzi R. says that Nancy F. jinxed
her “most Bunco” wins!!! Lucille Smith had the
most wins while Carol Pezowicz and Sue Bell
were the biggest losers this time. High points
were accumulated by Ronnie Lichtenstein and
on the low point end was Carol Van Buskirk.
The Bunco Bag, which contained cool summer
items, was carried home by Carol Smith who
graciously filled in at the last hour!! We were
all pleased to spend some fun time with our
new neighbor- to- be, Diane Briggs. Welcome,
Diane.
The next Bunco night is scheduled on August
17. More information will come to you Bunco
Babes later as this is the beginning of our
regular schedule. So “regulars” -- put August
17 on your calendars, and subs keep the date
open just in case. We love having 5 tables.
Our Hostes, Sue Bell

Needless to say our community celebrates
the Holidays in a big way with the Children’s
Party on December 9th and our fabulous Adult
Party on the 16th featuring Rickie & Frankie.
Mark you calendars to join your neighbors
for some fun-filled nights.
There have been no requests since our last
report that required a decision by the ARC. We
have had a number of requests for clarification
as to whether what the home owner was
contemplating did require an ARC decision.
These were mainly landscaping replacement or
exterior changes that did not affect the exterior
foot print of the home.
The ARC would like to ask all of our residents
to let us know if they are contemplating any
exterior changes to their homes. This includes
painting, landscaping, structural additions,
driveway changes, or anything else. It is much
easier for the ARC to approve changes, than
make home owners undo non-approved
changes that could possibly be costly to the
homeowner..Please make a phone call before
making a commitment. Jay Van Buskirk,
Chairman 923-8623

next few months. We are a very divergent
community and have many different interests. If
you haven’t participated yet—Try it, “Mikie likes
it.”
B-I-N-G-O is the name coming to Serenoa
August 12. It promises to be a great evening
beginning with a supper of make-your-own
fajitas followed by Bingo. This is not retirement
home bingo or bingo hall play. This is Serenoa
Fun. Due to state law however, it is limited to
adults. Please see enclosed flyer or check your
tubes to make reservations.
September will feature our annual fall Ladies
Coffee on the 9th. This is always a popular fun
event for the gals to get together, meet new
neighbors and have a great morning.
October is our Golfing 9 and/or Dine and the
Spook-Mobile.
RSVP: By August 5th to Carol VanBuskirk via her
mail tube or Marcy Abbott’s mail tube for Serenoa Lakes.

Grilled Chicken, Grilled Beef, Flour Tortillas, Peppers,
Onions, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Cheese, Sour Cream,
