Walk‐in Baths are designed for people who are finding it difficult to safely use a normal bath. These baths are a world‐wide item and have been available in the UK for over 30 years. They are a relatively new item in Australia where they have been available only in recent years.
These baths have a door which allows the user to get into and out of a bath easily and safely. The user gets into the bath, closes the door and fills up the bath. These baths are fitted with specially made fast‐fill taps to fill the bath quickly. Once in the bath the user is safe from falls. Even in the event of dizziness caused by a steamy atmosphere the user is safe from falling. With the optional hydrotherapy air‐spa system included, the user has an in‐house, true hydrotherapy spa system to alleviate pains from arthritic and similiar conditions. This system purges itself between uses to minimise the chance of cross or reinfection. These baths are usually fitted into existing showers and used as combination bath / shower base. The doors do not leak as during closing the door mechanism pushes up against the door seal. The seals do not perish as they are made of medical grade silicon "rubber". There is an overflow outlet near the top of the bath to prevent accidental over‐filling [all too easy when snoozing] We are a registered provider for Page | 2 WHO

e | 3 HYDROTHERAPY AIR SPA OPTION
Would you like to relieve the pain from arthritis, rheumatism and body aches? Here's how.
OUR ENTIRE HYDROTHERAPY AIR‐SPA SYSTEM IS SOURCED IN CANADA FROM ONE OF THE WORLDS LEADING SUPPLIERS. Purpose designed to alleviate pain symptoms from rheumatism, arthritis and other similar painful conditions. David D. of Doncaster East VIC sent us this note,
“Just a short note to let you know the bath has been installed for about a week and my wife loves it. Very hard to convince her that she does not need two baths a day. Again thanks for all your assistance and overall I am very happy with the product (and so is my aching back)”. Safety
The air distributors, as well as the security mechanisms are critical and essential components in all massage systems. The safety mechanisms in your massage system are elements that cannot be ignored. They ensure that the water will not come into contact with electricity. Automatic System Purging Between Uses
Twenty minutes after you leave your WINDSOR bath, the system automatically purges itself to prevent passing any bacteria [e.g. from a skin infection] back to yourself or another user. Spring valves
This check‐valve has the advantage of functioning in every position. The air pressure opens the jet by pushing on the stainless steel spring. Once the pressure is released the spring immediately returns to its initial position rendering the jet watertight to maintain a perfect hygiene level at all times. Motor Quality
A motor specially designed and engineered for air blowers. Already tested and approved, it has been on the market since 1998. Thermally protected. Specially designed for quieter performance. All motors are equipped with high quality exclusive long life brushes: Page | 4 ‐ Tested for over 1500 consecutive hours. – That is more than three times the life expectancy of a standard motor. Shown with clear case for illustration Air Heater
This innovative high quality ceramic air heater was created with a unique design that optimizes the heat exchange through the small openings for a better heat distribution through your system. The air heater temperature is always calibrated with the selected speed of the blower. When the blower is at 80% of its speed, the heating will function proportionally for the best effect. Muffler
The blower muffler combined with a special sound damping foam significantly reduces the sound of the motor. This specially designed muffler is integrated within the blower to reduce the overall size of the casing. The muffler has a new design deflector for better air intake. Completely Variable Speed
From a low power relaxing massage to a much invigorating massage created through a high power air flow, the integrated control is completely variable so that the user can choose exactly what is needed. WHY AN AIR SPA? We use ONLY heated air spas, as water spas can be harmful to delicate or aging skin, and are not suitable. You don’t need water in the bath to use it. Many people turn it on 5 minutes before getting into the bath to gently warm the bath inside. The air massage relaxes your muscles while stimulating the production of natural analgesic hormone known as endorphins. The use of an air massage system produces an effect of well‐being throughout your whole body. The variable speed makes it completely adaptable to the users needs, whether soft and caressing or more vigorous. Making this even more interesting is the “wave” effect where the speed alternates between strong and soft to create a very efficient lymphatic massage. Page | 5 INSTALLATION "I was concerned about the installation more than anything else. The thought of the noise, dust and
disturbance was worrying. When the time came Peter and his helper arrived at 7am and were gone by 3 o
clock. Because the new bath was going into my shower it was over so quickly, quietly and cleanly. I can
highly recommend Peter and the bath is a dream".
Margaret from the NSW North Coast
The most commonly asked question with installation is,
DO I HAVE TO RENOVATE THE WHOLE BATHROOM? The answer is NO.
Most of our baths go into existing showers, where they are used as a combination bath and shower base.
There is no need to do anything to the floor, the drainage kit that comes with the bath includes a flexible HEPLEX pipe that goes straight into your existing floor drain hole. Your plumber taps into the hot and cold pipes in the wall behind where the new bath is going, and installs 2 stop‐cocks [like the small taps where the water goes into your toilet]. He then runs 2 flexi‐hoses from the stop cocks to the underside of the fast‐fill taps that come with your bath. If you take the hydrotherapy spa option, the only additional installation item is a water‐
proof power point that goes onto the wall behind the new bath. A normal 3 pin plug from the bath, goes into the water proof power point ‐ that's it. The installation is straight forward and can be done by any plumber. If you prefer, we can organise installation on your behalf, let us know if this is your preference. Our walk‐in baths do not need framing, cladding and tiling like a normal bath, making installation simpler. Windsor Baths come complete with a worlds‐best fast‐fill tap set from the UK and a full drainage kit which will reduce your plumbing cost. Warranty claims are via the Melbourne based manufacturer. We selected this company after diligently checking their long history and service standards, to ensure they meet out high criteria. GST] Page | 16 LAY‐IN MODEL BATHS Can you recall the pleasure of lying in a conventional lay‐in bath at the end of a busy day? Sadly, lay‐in baths are one of those things that must be left behind as we get older and stiffer. Years ago we used to sell lay‐in baths with doors, but discontinued them after clients got "stuck" in them i.e. unable to rise and get out of the bath. One client wasn't found until 6 hours later and had to be embarrassingly rescued by her neighbour after he heard her calls for help. Because of this, we stopped selling this type of bath years ago. We have found that if you need a door to simply get into a bath [the easy part], you are a prime candidate for getting "stuck" and unable to rise and get out of your bath [a much harder task]. We have tried lay‐in baths with power belts, lay‐in baths with seats, lay‐in baths with lift‐
seats, lay‐in baths with doors but they are all too dangerous, even for those with only moderate disabilities. At best, they will provide a solution for only a short period. From a commercial point of view we could successfully and profitably sell this type of bath.
There will always be a market for lay-in baths with doors amongst those dreaming of the
past and those in age denial.
From an ethical point of view we cannot do this. The best outcome is that you will have a
useless ornament after a couple of years, and still have no bath.
The more likely outcome could be a fall that would change your life disastrously forever.
This is why these types of baths are not permitted in any aged/disabled placements. Are you willing to risk future calamity to yourself, your parents, your partner or your clients for such a minor gain? IS THE RISK WORTH IT?

Page | 17 WHAT PEOPLE USING OUR BATHS HAVE TO SAY
From Irene on Sydneys Northside "I used to hate bathing" "It started by being really hard to get out of my old bath and then I nearly got caught in a situation where I couldn’t rise out of the bath. I then tried a bath lift‐seat, and found that I nearly snapped at the waist when it lowered me from a sitting position to a legs‐out position. A good idea in theory, but not in practice. Then I went to a horrible chair in the shower. I felt really insecure sitting on it, plus the steam from the shower made me giddy. No chance of that working I was resigning myself to washing with a cloth [which I found very demeaning] when my sister told me about a walk‐in and sit‐down type bath she had seen in the UK. My son did an internet search of what was available in Australia and gave me a brochure. We ended up getting one of these and what a revolution it has made to my bathing. I can now get into and out of the bath easily and safely [I always used to worry about slipping over]. It has a hydrotherapy spa which has made a total difference to my arthritis. It is a real pleasure to have a hydrotherapy spa in‐house. For someone getting on in years, it has turned a dreaded task into my daily pleasure. I can’t understand why these aren't a standard item in any aged environment. From David from Doncaster East [Melbourne] "Just a short note to let you know the bath has been installed for about a week and my wife loves it. Very hard to convince her that she does not need two baths a day. Again thanks for all your assistance and overall I am very happy with the product (and so is my aching back)". From Lola at Yowie Bay [Sydney] The comments below are from a Sydney lady who paid in excess of a million dollars for a superior home in a village that resembled a resort. ”We looked through the home and the standard of fittings and room sizes were fantastic. We then walked into a huge bathroom with fabulous tiling and fittings, but the shower was a normal shower that made no concession to it being a village for the aged, with a plastic chair in it, a total let down". Lola had a walk‐in bath fitted into the shower very soon after moving in. Page | 18 AFTER SALES SERVICE A very important aspect to consider when buying a walk‐in bath. This is one area that distinguishes one supplier from another. The best after‐sales service is to not need it. Our baths use Australian plumbing parts which have never had a failure. We use a Canadian Hydrotherapy system which very rarely fails, which we install in our own Australian workshop to meet our quality needs. As much as we try to have a world‐class, faultless product, we do have about 2 warranty calls annually from the hundreds of baths sold. So what happens if you are one of the few? Firstly, you call our 24 hour, 1800 number and let the person answering know your situation. We then call you and organise a local service person to see you. They look at the situation and usually fix it on the spot. If you live in a remote area and need a special part, it’s send by Overnight Express and it’s fixed ASAP. Naturally it’s all at no cost to you. COMMENTS FROM OUR CUSTOMERS An SMS text message from a customer after our service person had been to fix her parents’ bath “The bath repair looks good and very strong. Thanks for your good service” Another comment from an elderly client –“ my baths spa stopped working, I phoned around 10am on a Monday morning, their electrician was around that afternoon to look at it, and he returned the next day with the part and it was all done in a little over 24 hours, surprising service in this day and age”
THE DIFFERENCE
Page | 19 TIPS WHEN BUYING A WALK‐IN BATH The things to look for to ensure you are happy with your purchase. WARNING: There is another Australian web site that has the words “MANUFACTURER AND SUPPLIER OF
THE REVOLUTIONARY WALK IN BATH”. This is not correct, they are 100% Chinese imports and ARE NOT
manufactured in Australia.
1. Because you are locked in the bath you need FAST FILL taps. NEVER buy a walk‐in bath without taps fitted. Special fast‐fill taps are needed, even for the smallest walk‐in bath. They are not available in tap shops, they are custom made. The taps used on Windsor Baths are made in the UK to the highest standards, to ensure every component of the tapware is designed to fill your bath as quickly as possible. A user of a walk‐in bath with standard taps found it took 18 minutes to fill the bath. Fast fill taps deliver 30 to 40 litres a minute [more with ¾” inlets], standard taps deliver 5 to 15 litres a minute. The worlds’ major vendors use custom made fast‐fill taps for a good reason, most commonly made in the UK, US or Australia. 2. Following on with the above point, the second most important thing is FAST DRAINING.
Some walk‐in baths come with a low quality, one piece, ribbed hose of around 35mm diameter. This results in a long wait for the bath to drain. Better walk‐in baths come with a complete drainage kit with a 40mm Hepflex hose which is smooth bored inside. This prevents the pipe getting waste matter caught in its internal ribbing, which happens with drains with internal ribs. The extra diameter increases the pipe by one third of extra area, to drain the water that much quicker 3. Does the spa use water or air? We use only body‐temperature heated air‐spas to prevent bruising to delicate skin that a water spa can cause. Our air‐spa system is made for hydrotherapy applications by the worlds’ leading provider in Canada. The system automatically self‐purges 20 minutes after usage, to help prevent passing on infections the next time it is used. Page | 20 The spa jets are designed to prevent skin bruising that can happen with normal spa jets. The 16 jets are roughly the size of a 10 cent coin with 6 outlets on the RIM of each jet. This creates a flower pattern of vigorous massage instead of a centralised blast. Others use standard water/air systems used in pools and standard spas which cost less than a quarter of the price. You can turn on a heated‐air spa before you enter the bath to heat the bath shell, you can’t do this with a water spa. Again, the worlds’ leading vendors like Seabridge Bathing of Canada, ONLY use air‐spas for a good reason 4. Avoid conventional lay‐in type baths unless using it for overhead shower access. While a door may help you get into the conventional lay‐in type bath, the big risk is getting stuck on the floor of the bath. This is why lay‐down type baths aren’t fitted into aged care environments in Australia. As a general rule, if you can’t step into a bath, you are in the high risk category for being unable to get up and out of a lay‐in type of bath. The larger water capacity of lay‐in type baths means you are standing [or laying] in the bath for a longer period while it fills. Can you reach the taps at the foot of the bath? Sit‐in baths represent over 98% of walk‐in bath sales world‐wide. Lay‐in types of baths ARE suitable where you have a shower over your bath, and you are having trouble stepping over the bath to get into the shower. 5. Should you have a hand‐held showers incorporated into the bath shell or a wall mounted adjustable shower head? Because of the weight of a metal flexi hose and shower head that go into the bath body, these are clumsy and difficult to use. Sliding a 1 to 1.5 metre metal hose into the hole in the bath is difficult and clumsy. This type of shower rarely has a WELS rating as required by Australian Standards. To overcome the weight issue, some suppliers use low weight [and quality] metal‐looking plastic hoses and plastic showers. Page | 21 You are better to use a vertical Australian external grab bar above the bath, with an attached, sliding, removable shower head on a flexi hose as shown here. Your plumber can supply these for about $350. They are easy to fit, as the flexi‐hose screws into the existing shower outlet. Again, the worlds’ major walk‐in bath suppliers, Seabridge Bathing and Premier Baths use use this method, as it is far better, safer and easier to use. 6. Will it fit through the doors in your house? A standard door is 2’8″ wide [81cm] less the door jambs giving you about 31″[79 cm]. If the smallest dimension of a bath you are looking at is over 30″ [76cm] you may not get it through your doors; check this. 7. Be cautious if thinking of a seat‐lift or belt‐lift in a bath. These look good in theory, but many people find they feel insecure with these and find the transition from a seated to laying position, and the reverse, very awkward. Many people also find it difficult to reach the taps quickly, this makes scalding more likely. We looked at introducing a bath with a lift seat, but our testing group found them extremely harsh on backs. When the seat took them from a seating position, to a legs‐out position, all testers noted extreme back strain. Overall, like a plastic shower chair, a very second rate solution. 8. Australian Standards Compliance. This is a key issue as it is largely about user safety. Having Australian sourced plumbing fittings is a key factor here. Ask also where the spa systems come from, and are they installed in Australia to Australian Standards. Here are questions to ask before buying. ‐ What is the IP [waterproof] rating of the electrics. ‐ If there is a hand held shower in the bath, what is the WELS rating? ‐ Do their spa motors have Australian Compliance test certificates [ C tick] ‐ Do the spas have multiple one‐way water flow protection systems to stop water reaching the 240V electrics? If there is a heated water‐spa, are there TWO thermostats as required by Australian Standards? Failure of a single thermostat model can have tragic results. These standards are about giving you a bath that is safe and will give years of trouble free ownership. Don’t compromise your safety and security. Do your research BEFORE you buy Page | 22 PHOTO GALLERY We are pleased to announce our NEW worlds-best, superfast-fill
