Business Spotlight
Keith and Sylvia Carstens
have been in business for 27
years out of their home.
They specialize in three
different areas: woven lawn
furniture, custom made
framing and matting, and
custom made furniture,
shelves and small gift items
from wood.
The lawn furniture is woven
with macramé yarn designed
for outdoor use with 70
colors available. There are
many designs available and
they draw patterns to fit
customers’ wants. They can
personalize the chairs.
Keith routers and makes the
picture framing styles from
both
hardwoods
and
softwoods. They have a large
number of colors used in
matting.
Some samples of
the possibilities
from Carstens
Crafts.
The furniture can be made
from
hardwoods
or
softwoods. Keith has made
end tables, coffee tables,
shelves and bunk beds to the
customer’s size and design
needs.
He also refinishes
furniture.
Check the website for
pictures and prices of the
woven furniture and more
details. Visit our home for
details, samples of picture
framing styles, matting and

The Holstein Chamber is taking an active role in helping
Holstein become a Home
Base Iowa (HBI) location. HBI
businesses are committed to
hiring transitioning service members and veterans for semiskilled and skilled positions in Iowa. Even if you are a small
business and have no job openings, please sign up as a
show of support in our veterans and military. Communities
can show support via promotions, housing, secondary jobs
and education to name a few. Businesses interested in becoming an HBI business can sign up at https://
