RESPECT RESPONSIBILITY RESILIENCE
Dear Parents,
There was a great turn out at the Run
Wollongong event on Sunday. I am sure that
if you ran or walked you enjoyed the day!
I look forward to seeing all of the
Grandparents on Friday at the morning tea,
the children will share written pieces and
artworks to thank them for the ‘special
moments’ that they spend with them.
Preparations are being made for the Spooky
Halloween Disco on Friday 30th and I have
heard students talking about their costumes
already.
Well done to Ji who went to the State
Athletics last week for running!
Next week the year 2 students will
participate in the Special Swimming Scheme
at Corrimal swimming pool.
Mrs Liddle returns to school on Wednesday
and I will go back to teaching 1/2S. Thanks
for all of your support, I have enjoyed being
able to work with more of the school
community in this role.

WAVE FM “Apple for the Teacher” Competition
This is a great opportunity for WEPS to have a go at winning some of $15,000 of prizes on
offer, including a Macbook Pro, iPods and iPad Minis.
Four teachers from WEPS have been nominated for the competition. It doesn’t matter if they
are not your child’s teacher - all of our teachers are worthy of the prize and we’re sure if
successful, the nominated teacher/s will share them around the school! Also, the teacher/s
could be your child’s teacher in coming years, for which your child’s class will benefit from the
prize/s.
To vote, go to the following link:
http://www.wavefm.com.au/apple-for-the-teacher-2015
Or if you are on the Home Page, go to “What’s On” then “Competitions and Events”
Go to the last drop down box entitled “School T to Z” – click on one of the following nominated
teachers from our school:
Go back and do it again as many times as you can for all teachers over the next week or two –
the more votes the better!
So please take a moment or two to get online and get voting!
Language Classes
There are still places available for your child if you would like them to participate in either
French or Spanish classes. The classes will run parallel to each other on Wednesday mornings
from 8.00 am - 8.45 am. French will be held in the library and Spanish in the hall.
If you are interested please pick up a note from the school office or you can
contact Nicole Weber on 0433513006 for more information.

Grandparents Day acknowledges the vital role that grandparents play in the lives of our
students. Many grandparents are highly involved in their grandkids’ schooling. They drop-off
and pick-up their grandchildren, they attend school sporting events and performances and many
volunteer their time to assist with reading activities or with the canteen. Grandparents Day
recognises the irreplaceable role grandparents have in their families and in the wider
community.
The Grandparents Day 2015 theme is ‘Moments that Matter’.
This year students will be asked to write or draw (in class) about a special ‘Moment’ with their
grandparents. On Friday 23rd October Grandparents are invited as special guests on
Grandparents Day to a morning tea where students share written pieces and artworks around
the theme “Special Moments with my Grandparents”.
Students will be asked to make and bring some cupcakes for the morning tea. (Tea and
coffee will be provided)
