OVERVIEW
Emrill, a leading FM (Facilities Management) company in the UAE, chose
36S to revolutionize their procurement. 36S’ cloud-based e-Procurement
platform brings their paper-based procurement process online and mobile,
so purchasing orders can be approved in minutes, at any time, from
anywhere. Once a purchasing order is approved, 36S arranges delivery of
the items within a 72 hour window. As a result, Emrill has reduced its
order-to-delivery lead time by 40% and are estimated to achieve over 1
million dirhams in savings during the first year of operation.
THE BACKGROUND
THE SOLUTION
The GCC’s FM sector is booming, and as
the market is becoming more and more
competitive, Emrill was seeking innovative
ways to increase efficiency and sustainability
across their business units, and chose to
engage 36S in reviewing their procurement
and supply chain set up.
36S assigned a dedicated client manager
supported by a team of procurement
and supply chain management experts to
implement the following services:
THE CHALLENGE
To understand Emrill’s existing procurement
and supply chain processes, 36S conducted a
“P2P (Procure-to-Pay) Health Check,”
from which the following challenges were
identified;
• The
paper based procurement process
was leading to a lag in approvals
• Uncertainty
in demand and inventory
level was causing delay in delivery
• Petty cash was used as a means to deliver
the required items on time
• Similar
products were procured from
different suppliers, resulting in lost rebate
opportunities and inconsistent quality of
products
Process Design
36S’ six-sigma-certified process experts
designed an optimized procure-to-pay process,
while preserving corporate governance and
customer service requirements.
Catalogue Management
Creation and maintenance of a catalogue of
items for each site, approved by Emrill. Preselecting products for each site according
to its unique requirements and service
level agreements ensures greater contract
compliance and customers’ satisfaction in the
long term.
E-Procurement Platform
An online tool for procurement requisitions
and approvals, replacing the paper based
process. Products and materials can be ordered
over the internet and approved by managers
using the mobile app.

THE RESULT
In addition to better service and 40% shorter
order-to-delivery lead time, Emrill has achieved
significant cost savings across the business, through
reduction in petty cash and in resources which used
to be spent on managing suppliers and chasing
after approvals.
