The famous ‘writing tablets’ found at Vindolanda were written on thin pieces of wood using an iron pen.
Try writing your name, or even a letter of your own using the Roman alphabet shown above.
Because the Roman alphabet was slightly different to ours and some letters like j, w, y and z were missing, you might
have to use the closest letter you can find. For example a instead of a ‘J’ you would use and ‘I’.
