INTRODUCTION
Over the past five years, the Emmanuel College Saints have achiev-
ed an outstanding record of 78 - 28. The highlight af last season was
winning the Massachusetts State Championship for the first time in
history. Furthermore, the Saints reached. the finals of the E. C. A. C.
New EQg1and Regionals, lOsing to Colby in the final seconds of overtime. A special ten-day trip to Ireland found the Saints playing and
winning against some of the top teams in Ireland. At season's end,
the Saints final New England Ranking was 5th in the division III.
The 1985-19,86 season promises to be exciting. The Saints will host
the top Pre-Season Tournament in the country with such outstanding
teams as the NCAA Division III Champs, Scranton University and
the NCAA Division III runners up, the College of New Rochelle.
The Saints face strong opposition this year, playing Pine Manor,
Southem Maine, RLC., Westem Connecticut, Merrimack, and the
nationally ranked Division II power, Bentley. During the season,
the Saints will travel to Washington, D .C . to play in the eight-team
Catholic University Invitational .
Ten letter winning players return to the Saints line-up this year.
The front court is led by CC?Captains Melody Livramento, Mary
Kamb, Lisa Dennis and Julia Damon. Playing in the back court are
Marlayna McDuffie, (co-captain), Tara Forsberg, Sheree McClain
and Kathy Kennedy .
An excellent recruiting year brought five freshmen to the team ,
including Marie David from "Bishop Stang," Cindy Sealey from
"Charlestown," Tiffany Nicholson from "East Orange N.J.," Yvonne
Stigas from "Blue Hills Regional HS," and Nicky Vasquez from "St.
Mary's in Lawrence."
