At Teaching Strategies, our mission is to provide quality
support for the important work you do every day. Over the
years, we have demonstrated our commitment to innovation
by consistently expanding our offerings and engaging with
educators to implement best practices. Today, with technology
playing a significant role in our daily lives, we too are “going
digital.” I’m pleased to introduce you to some of the exciting
ways Teaching Strategies is using technology to offer you
innovative new forms of support.
This school year, we will launch a free documentation app for
Teaching Strategies GOLD® online. This exciting new app will
enable users to easily capture documentation in the moment,
using an iPhone, iPad, or iTouch. Our new app truly represents
technology at its best—a way of saving teachers valuable time
without compromising security, quality, or accuracy.
We’ve also greatly expanded our online offerings to provide
you with anywhere, anytime access to valuable support
and information. The all-new Teaching Strategies blog,
written by author and early childhood expert Kai-leé Berke,
offers a place to find ideas, inspiration, and information
on early childhood education. We hope you’ll take a look
at TeachingStrategies.com/blog.
We’ve also recently launched the
Teaching Strategies Community, a virtual
learning environment where early childhood educators
can engage in a wide range of online discussions. The
Community offers another way to connect and collaborate
with peers and Teaching Strategies authors, no matter where
you’re located.
Finally, our newly redesigned Web site features simple, userfriendly navigational tools and a wealth of information, including
product overviews, research, alignments, and author information.
Please visit us at TeachingStrategies.com.
From all of us at Teaching Strategies, we wish you a very fulfilling
year—one that is greatly enhanced by the innovations available in
this exciting digital age!

How the Curriculum Works
Our specially designed Resource Organizer enables teachers to assemble
all the resources they need to keep close at hand.
Plan ahead for the day or for the week with materials listed in the
“At a Glance” charts in each Teaching Guide. These charts give an overview
of the next several days.
On the left, teachers store Intentional Teaching Cards™.
This side also holds children’s books and Book Discussion Cards™
for interactive read-alouds.
How Do I Know What Goes in My Resource Organizer?
Each “At a Glance” chart shows all the materials and books that teachers will need
to gather for each week, saving teachers valuable time.
How Can I Customize for My Program?
Each weekly plan can be customized to reflect the specific interests of each
classroom and community. From local cultural celebrations to classroom traditions
and children's interests, teachers can easily integrate unique content into the
Curriculum's daily plans.

for Infants, Toddlers & Twos
Second Edition, Revised
Diane Trister Dodge; Sherrie Rudick;
Kai-leé Berke; Cate Heroman;
Diane C. Burts, EdD; and Toni S. Bickart
The Creative Curriculum® for Infants, Toddlers
& Twos, Second Edition, Revised helps teachers
understand developmentally appropriate practice;
provide consistent and responsive care; and create
daily routines and meaningful experiences that
are responsive to children’s strengths, interests,
and needs. With 36 research-based objectives
for development and learning and two additional
objectives for English language acquisition,
teachers can focus on what matters most for
very young children. Fully aligned with Teaching
Strategies GOLD®, this new revision helps teachers
intentionally care for infants, toddlers, and twos.
Volume 1: The Foundation discusses the five
central components of nurturing care and
teaching and provides the knowledge teachers
need to create responsive environments and
individualized care.
Volume 2: Routines and Experiences discusses
the five routines and eight experiences that are
essential to the development and learning of
children from birth to age 3. It explains how to
plan intentionally while maintaining flexibility to
respond to the changing interests and abilities
of young children.
Volume 3: Objectives for Development & Learning:
Birth Through Kindergarten explains the skills,
knowledge, and behaviors that are essential to
the continuing development and learning of very
young children. This resource helps teachers
observe effectively so they can plan for a child
or a group of children.
The Creative Curriculum® for Family Child Care
Second Edition
Diane Trister Dodge; Sherrie Rudick; and Laura J. Colker, EdD
The Creative Curriculum® for Family Child Care is the only comprehensive,
developmentally appropriate curriculum that addresses the unique challenges and
benefits of a family child care setting and helps educators partner with families.
With objectives for children’s social–emotional, physical, oral language, and cognitive
development and for their learning in the content areas (literacy, mathematics,
science, social studies, and the arts), it helps providers plan activities intentionally
and integrate learning for children ages birth through 12.

Start Child Development and Early Learning
Framework or state early learning standards.
Family Reports
The “Development and Learning Report” can be
shared with families to help them understand
their child’s skills, knowledge, and behaviors,
and convey the next steps for development and
learning.
The Growth Report
NEW!
“The Growth Report” shows gains made by
children over time, independent of widely
held expectations. This report enables
administrators to examine any changes made
between two checkpoint periods to evaluate
whether children are progressing in order to meet
their achievement goals.
Comparative Data Reports
NEW!
“Comparative Data Reports,” including
the “Comparative Widely Held Expectations
Report” and the “Comparative Normative Report,”
will enable users to generate comparative
data by putting children’s scores on a uniform
scale, allowing for comparison of skill levels
across areas.

About 1st, 2nd & 3rd Grades
An Essential Guide to Your Child’s Education, Second Edition
Toni S. Bickart, Diane Trister Dodge, and Judy R. Jablon
This book explains how children really learn and how good teachers really teach—
by encouraging active learners and challenging them to explore and solve problems
collaboratively. Teachers will be helped to shape their classroom approach and
describe it to families. Families will learn to appreciate their child’s classroom, how
to discuss with teachers what their child is learning, and how to help at home.
