Guitar Lessons Update
Jim and I are so very, very sorry to inform you that we
will not be able to come to Arizona this season. We
were all packed and ready to head that way this coming
weekend. Unfortunately Jimmy’s mother has been
diagnosed with dementia/Alzheimer’s. This could not
have come at a worse time. Well NO time is a good
time for this disease, but we were so looking forward to
seeing our Mesa Regal family, neighbors and students.
I can tell you we are absolutely heartbroken.

COME OUT AND JAM
REMINDER SAFETY
COMES FIRST! PLEASE
Stop at all Stop signs whether
you are traveling by Car,
Truck, Motorcycle, Golf Cart,
Bike or Walking.
We have a jam session every
Sunday at 1:00 to 3:30 P.M. in
the Royal Hall.
Everyone is welcome. If you sing
or play an instrument please come
and play with us. We also
welcome anyone who wants to sit and listen or get up
and dance. We have a nice big dance floor and lots of
people who use it. The music we play is Old Country
and Gospel and now and then something else gets slid in
and believe it or not we do pretty well. We hope to hold
a 50/50 at intermission to help acquire more sound
equipment and donate to things that Mesa Regal donates
to.
We also serve coffee and donuts at intermission for a
small donation and we thank you in advance for your
support.
I can hardly wait to see each one of you this year at the
Jams. Please feel free to call me if you have any
questions at 989-289-2648. Pauline Recker

MESA REGAL COMPUTER CLUB
We meet weekly in Royal Hall each Thursday at 10 AM following coffee and Donuts. Our meetings are open to all Mesa Regal
residents. Club membership is $10.00 per season which entitles you to take our many classes and enter the weekly prize draw among other
benefits. Each week we provide an interesting speaker on a variety of computer related topics (see below).
The Mesa Regal Website www.mesaregalcc.org (updated regularly) provides quick, convenient access to email servers; class schedules;
information on upcoming presentations; local reputable repair companies and tips regarding your own computers. It is the home page of
our computers in the computer lab.
The club teaches computer classes for Club Members. Check the Class Signup Book next to the printer in the Computer Lab for classes.
Currently scheduled are: Advanced Genealogy, Beginning Genealogy, Windows 10.0, iPad and Android tablets, Cleaning up Your
Computer, MS Publisher, and Beginning Computers. Cost for classes varies. Check frequently as classes are added weekly.
Do you have a specific skill with some aspect of computers? We would love to have you teach a class either on a regular basis or a single
class. Contact Tom Arnold ([email protected]) to discuss what you can offer.
Thursday, January 7, 2016 – Gary Stanley - Gary is a retired Jet Pilot, former Radio Personality, Author, Teacher, Computer
Consultant, Speaker, and Photographer. His “Joys of Photography” Presentation will increase your enthusiasm for taking photos and he’ll
demonstrate how to make your photos look their best no matter what kind of camera you use, including your cell phone!
Thursday, February 6, 2016 – Tom Watson – Bits N’Bytes Computers – Tom and his son TJ have a booth at the Mesa Flea Market as
well a local computer repair shop in Mesa on East Apache Trail west of Ellsworth. They will discuss the various problems that people
encounter with their computers. This is your chance to question experts on all things computer related.
Thursday, January 22, 2016 – JB Burke – The Dark Web – JB is coming in from Prescott to show you things on the Internet that you
were not aware existed. Almost 90% of the web is hidden from Google searches. As the name implies he will discuss and show you where
the underworld resides. His presentation last year amazed our members and we were asked to have him back this year.
Wednesday, January 27, 2016 – Our Annual Computer Expo – Note that our annual expo is being held on Wednesday and it is in
Regal Hall not Royal Hall. We plan on many more vendors and teachers this year as this hall is much larger. Come out and see and learn
all about your electronics, computers, tablets and smart phones. Tons of door prizes for club members and refreshments too.

Welcome back Mesa Regal Shuffleboard players. Our shuffleboard started up once again the first part of November and is now in full swing. We play every Monday, Wednesday & Friday mornings at 8:30, but ask that you be at the courts by 8:15 to get your sticks and number for which board you will be playing on. If you have never played Shuffleboard, come down to the courts as there is always someone who will show you the ins and outs of the game. It is fun, sometimes strategic and you meet a group of great people. Shuffleboard is a game that doesn’t hurt any part of your body. The object of the game is to outplay your opponent. You shoot pucks down the board and try to count points, but stay out of the kitchen as you lose points. We would like to see new faces this year, so come join our group. It is located at the West End complex below the bocce ball courts. In January, if you want a little more competitive challenge, we start league play which takes you out of the park to play other Shufflers from their parks. Again it is fun and you get to meet people. In addition to meeting new folks we also have a couple of pot luck barbeques and every Friday is free coffee and doughnut mornings. On the Fridays we change up the game to add variety and challenges. So come out. You don’t have to play every Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Pick your days and see how you like it, but come, because we would like to see the Shuffleboard courts filled to their capacity once again.
