MESSAGE FROM
THE MANAGER
Carl J. Miller, General Manager
Dear TCC Family,
We are really excited for our 2015 golf season. There’s an extra buzz around recent
improvements made at the Golf Shop, as well as our new Men’s and Women’s evening
golf programs on Wednesday and Thursday nights respectively. Be sure to create a fun
new mid-week golf habit and connect with old friends while making new ones.
Membership growth is still a top priority. We are seeing momentum going into May
with those joining under the “Friends and Family” membership referral program.
Thanks to all your efforts, our TCC community has grown by over sixteen families so
far with additional applications coming in. In this newsletter edition, we have
listed all new families by name. Once we receive all family photos, as requested, we
will include them in the next newsletter.
Why mess with success? Since we are receiving some late inquiries from members
wanting to participate in our “Friends and Family” referral program, we are extending it
through May 21st. Now is the perfect time to invite someone you know that is
interested in learning more about Toledo Country Club. They will get in ahead of
summer and enjoy Memorial Day weekend along with the rest of our members. Keep
up with all your recruiting efforts and get credit for it…up to $45/month for two years
or $1,080.
6th Tee will be in transition for a few weeks as we do some minor renovations. We will
need to work around construction at times while servicing your food and beverage
needs on the course. Thank you in advance for your patience as we make further
improvements to your golf experience.
I want to make sure you are getting all the information that we send out to our
membership. Please find a Contact Information sheet in this newsletter. When in doubt,
fill it out. Toledo Country Club has a lot happening and you do not want to miss it.
Are you looking for a place to host your corporate breakfast, luncheon or dinner? Do
you want to host a golf outing at the best location in NW Ohio? We would like to be
your venue of choice for entertaining. Let us know how we can be of ser vice in
providing for all your personal and business needs. It is really important that you
know…we will work harder and appreciate you more
Lastly, please look through the entire newsletter and see what’s happening at your club.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
Best regards,
Carl J. Miller

CHEF’S CORNER
Main Dining Room
& River Room
Richard Grimm, Executive Chef
My favorite time of the year...sunny spring
days. It’s the time of year to uncover your
old seasoned grill or get a new one, if it
didn't survive the long cold NW Ohio winter.
Either way you can’t lose when grilling your
favorite foods. Please look at the recipe I
included with my article. It is one of my
favorite grilled foods that you should try.
Don’t be afraid to let your inner chef come
out and make the recipes your own.
You could always head to the club and try
some of our new menu items...featuring fresh
salads, sandwiches and a la carte entrees,
including our popular Friday seafood
features like 1 1/2 lb Maine whole lobster,
Alaskan king crab, shrimp and more. Our
culinary team looks forward to seeing you
around the club and hearing your feedback.
Looking forward to another great season at
the best club in town...Toledo Country Club.

MEET THE 2015 RIVER RATS SWIM TEAM COACHES
Kaitlyn Hersch
Brooke Edwards
I am excited to start my third
summer coaching for TCC. I
graduated from Springfield
High School and then
volunteered as the assistant
swim coach for two years.
During the winter, I coach for
Fort Meigs YMCA Stingrays.
This fall I’ll be a senior at the
University of Toledo. I will
be applying for graduate
school for physical therapy
with the hopes of attending
THE Ohio State University.
I am a student at the
University of Toledo. I also
swim for the University of
Toledo Women's Swimming
and Diving Team. I have been
around
the
competitive
swimming world for over ten
years and have coached and
taught swim lessons to
children of various ages. I am
currently
majoring
in
Communications with a focus
in Public Relations.
Jamie Skowronek
Adam Whitehead
I am a sophomore at the
University
of
Toledo,
studying Physical Therapy. I
am originally from Carmel,
IN. I have been competitive
swimmer since 6 years old. I
am a proud member of Alpha
Chi Omega, where I have
held many positions. I also
am
very
involved
in
RockeTHON,
a
dance
marathon to raise funds and
awareness for the Children’s
Miracle Network. I am super
excited about my first season
here at Toledo Country Club!
I am finishing my freshman
year at Ohio State University,
as a physics major and will
soon add an astrophysics
minor. I recently graduated
from Springfield H. S. While
there I spent 3 years on the
school's swim team and one
year on a local club team. I
was able to set a few school
records
at
Springfield
including some individual
events and relays.
My
favorite event is the medley
relay, and I'm very excited to
start coaching.
MEMORIAL DAY POOL PARTY
LADIES DAY AT THE POOL

TCC chefs will also be providing lunch. So don’t miss out

GOLF NEWS
Tony Searl, Head Golf Professional
I am happy to report that the golf shop
renovation is 99% complete. I would
encourage you to stop by and check out your
Golf Shop if you have not seen it yet. We
have spring apparel lines for Men from Nike
Golf, FootJoy, LevelWear and Full Turn
Direct in stock right now. We also have
Ladies apparel lines from LevelWear and
Nike Golf. We will have spring lines for the
ladies coming in from Sport Haley and JoFit
this month, as well as Peter Millar for the
men. We have full lines of golf clubs in from
Titleist, Callaway and TaylorMade and will
be receiving clubs from Cobra Golf in the
next few weeks. We also have a launch
monitor from Ernest Sports that will allow us
to fit you properly for your woods, irons or
wedge purchases. Everything we have in the
shop is a “demo” and we have all of our
clubs priced at the same price as all of the big
box golf retailers (Golfsmith, Dick’s Sporting
Goods, etc.). We encourage you to test out
any new equipment on your range and golf
course before purchase and after we fit you
for it. We also have accessories from
Winston Leather Company, CMC Golf,
Tervis Tumbler and Sterling Cut Glass in the
Golf Shop. If we do not have something you
are looking for, we are more than happy to
special order it for you.
Our TCC Men’s, Ladies, and Couples
Events all start in May. We are beginning our
Men’s Wednesday Night events and our
Women’s Thursday Night events this month.
These events are 9 holes and are a great way
to meet some of the members you may not
have met already. Both will begin at 5:30
each Wednesday and Thursday evening. The
women’s 18 hole and 9 hole groups will also
be begin their season this month. It is not too
late to sign up. We have our first couples
event coming up on Friday, May 8th. The
Kamanawanalaya couples mixer begins at
5:30 pm and is a great way to spend a social
and fun Friday evening with your friends at
the club. Please contact us in the golf shop
for more information or to sign up for any of
the golf events in this
May newsletter.
Cody Knapp will be our
Golf Shop intern this season and he will
begin working with us around May 15th.
Cody is in the Golf Management Program at
Trine University and plays on the Trine golf
team.
We had a great showing at the Summer Sign
Ups event in April. If you could not make it
to the event, it is not too late to sign up.
Registration for the Junior Golf Program will
continue until June 2nd. Our Saturday Junior
Clinic Series begins in June as well.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have
any questions, comments or concerns about
anything.
Sincerely,
Tony Searl
