welcome all handicap levels at every tournament!
In 2008, we need your continued support more than ever.
We have set a goal to reach 1500 members by the end of

Course Rating Volunteers Needed
FWSGA is looking for volunteers to train and serve as golf course raters in the USGA Golf Course Rating System.
Currently, team members and captains are needed to cover courses in Broward, Dade, and Polk County.
Course raters follow the USGA Course Rating System Guide. The USGA Course Rating System is designed to ensure
that the rating of a course is in proper relation to the ratings of other courses in order to address the portability of handicaps. Under the System, courses are rated according to the relative difficulty for both the scratch and the bogey golfer.
The Course Rating System takes into account the factors that affect the playing difficulty of a course and adjusts a player’s
USGA Handicap Index according to the relative difficulty of the golf course being played.
Course rating teams must have the ability to travel to various courses throughout their rating areas and follow guidelines
and rules established for rating teams by the USGA.
