AL-MADINAH VISIT
Program in Madina
1-Stay close to the Prophet Mosque. Pray all prayers there. Try to read the
whole Quran there.
2-Visit the Baqee’ graveyard- participate in Janaza / funeral at least once
3-Visit the historical mosques, locations of battles (Review the Prophet
Seerah so that you can relate the site visits to the historical events).
4-Visit the library in the Prophet (Al-Nabawi) Mosque.
5-Visit King Abdul Aziz Library /very close to the Prophet Mosque and see
the Qur’anic Museum. It contains the largest copy of the Holy Quran in the
world.
6-Do your shopping from Madinah.

History of the Prophet Mosque
•When the Prophet (pbuh) established the Mosque , it
was 805 m2 then the Prophet expanded the mosque
area to become 2475m2.
•Omar Bin Al-Khattab added extra 1100m2.
•Othman Bin Affan did an other extension of 2400m2.
•The Amawi Khalif Al-Waleed bin Abdul Malik did
another extension of 2450m2
•The current area of the Mosque after Late King Fahad
extention is 400,327m2 which can accommodate about 1
million worshippers.

additional minarets,
each 105 meter high.
The Minarets are
crowned with a 4 ton
gold-plated crescents.

A unique feature of the current expansion
of the Prophet Mosque is the addition of
the 27 main plazas. Each plaza is now
capped by a state-of-the-art sliding dome,
which can be rapidly opened or closed
according to the weather.

has the reward of performing Umrah

Islam. Its foundation stone
