The Studio is located in
a converted barn in
Ayton, Ontario about
2 hours northwest of
Toronto.
The focus of this autumn retreat is on individual artistic development through a shared group experience.
We will collectively and individually look into the integration of design and process as we establish a new direction for an exploratory
body of work.
The workshop is hosted in the well outfitted studio of Tina Lee Degreef in the
farming community of Ayton Ontario. Pastoral studio vistas of wooded rolling
hills and tranquil countryside make the perfect backdrop for an introspective
intimate collaborative group experience. Gourmet meals are included, featuring
local fresh ingredients prepared with culinary expertise by Praparat Sturlin,
director of the Thai Gourmet House Cooking School in Scottsdale Arizona.
The daily sessions of the retreat will be a combination of demonstrations in technique and process followed by an exchange of ideas about the approach and implementation of evolutionary design as the guiding principle in developing new
work. Our communal investigation will be the impetus for each participant’s personal exploration of the creative journey from concept to completion expressed
as a series of wearable jewelry.

All materials and supplies are the responsibility of workshop participants. Some tools
are provided in the studios. A memo detailing the workshop supplies, will be sent out
to participants.

Lower Keir Cottage:
New 2 bedroom (king and 2 single beds), 2 bathroom house about 3 minutes from the
studio in a wooded lot with deck overlooking rolling farmland. Private pond, air conditioned, fully equipped.
Suitable for 2 to 4 students.
Rental: $700 Cdn for one week. $2000 for a month
B&B:
There are a number of B&B’s nearby in Mount Forest, Clifford and Neustadt. Please
email Tina for more info on B&B’s close to the studio. Prices range from $65 to $150
per night.
