Before you start, charge the
PND-K3msn for at least three
hours, using the included AC
charger.
> HOW TO MOUNT THE PND-K3msn
1 Find a spot suitable for the
navigation device. Stick the
suction cup against the desired
mounting location. Press the
lever to secure the suction cup.
2 Guide the navigation device onto
the cradle.
INSTALLATION NOTE
Certain state and local regulations may prohibit the placement of any object on windows or the
dash. See your authorized Alpine dealer for other installation options.
MAPS
All map coverage includes only roads and regions that have been mapped in a digitized format.
3 Gently push until a click sound
is heard and the device is locked
in place.
> HOW TO REMOVE THE PND-K3msn
1 Press on the button immediately
behind the navigation device.
This will release the unit forward.
Gently lift the device from its cradle.

> The PND-K3msn comes with three months of free MSN

Software and/or map updates can be accessed by connecting the PND-K3msn to a PC.
The PND-K3msn’s Owner’s Manual can also be accessed the same way (internet connection
required for either function).
1 Turn on the PND-K3msn.
2 Connect the PND-K3msn to the PC using the provided USB cable.
Direct service.
To activate your free trial:
1 Install the cradle in your vehicle and place the charged PND-K3msn in the cradle.
2 Turn on the PND-K3msn and press the MSN Direct button (butterfly) on the
Main Menu screen.
3 Write down the Product Key for your PND-K3msn device.
4 Log on to http://www.msndirect.com/Alpine and follow the instructions to
activate MSN Direct.
3 Open “My Computer” on the PC. Click the “Alpine Update” icon that appears.
NOTE: The PND-K3msn must be in the cradle to receive MSN Direct. To receive MSN Direct service, you
must be within an MSN Direct coverage area; see www.msndirect.com/coverage for current coverage
maps. Coverage areas are affected by reception limitations of the FM network as well as other factors,
which may affect the ability to receive FM broadcasts. Coverage areas are subject to change. Some
services available only in select cities where coverage exists. See www.msndirect.com/whatyouget.
