Hiking
With most of the town backing onto forest, Squamish offers some of the best hiking
trails. Ranging from gentle walks to vigorous hikes, choose either short strolls or long
day trips! The most popular hikes include hiking up the back of the Stawamus Chief,
the Four Lakes trail, and Mount Garibaldi.
Climbing
Being internationally recognized for the stunning Squamish Chief, the second largest
granite monolith in the world, Squamish has become a famous climbing spot. With
other rock climbing sites such as the Smoke Bluffs and Comic Rocks, there's a suitable
climb for every skill level. Certified local climbers also teach lessons for beginners.
Biking
With a rugged landscape, Squamish is the ideal spot for biking. Hosting the famous
Test of Metal year after year, Squamish is known as a biking hotspot. Try coasting
along Jack's trail, or if you're feeling daring, try your hand at the Powerhouse
Plunge! Or better yet, explore Squamish and find a trail of your own.
Whitewater Rafting
Sail down the breezy Cheakamus river, or race down the whitewater rapids of the
Elaho. Local outfitters offer guided tours, equipment, a barbeque, pickups, and special
packages. Fun for the whole family!
Golfing
Squamish is home to the Squamish Valley Golf and Country Club and the new
Garibaldi Springs executive course. Enjoy the Squamish Valley's squash facilities and
gourmet restaurant, a great way to complement a fantastic day of golf.
Windsurfing
Head on down to the Squamish Spit to either try windsurfing or watch! You can rent
equipment and Howe
