There is more joy in heaven...

Most of us are familiar with the commercial where someone knocks on the door of an
unsuspecting resident and presents them with a big check from a sweepstakes they entered.
As the commercial comes to an end we’re told, “This could be you!” It’s definitely a party on
the porch!
What gets you excited?
Is it when your favorite team is victorious? Is it when you receive some unexpected good
news? How about when you purchase a new car, welcome a new baby, celebrate a graduation … you get the idea.
While God celebrates with us on many of these occasions, there is only one thing that
generates that kind of excitement in heaven, “ … there is more joy in heaven over one lost
sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and
haven’t strayed away!” Luke 15:7 (NLT)
There is a grassroots effort underway in Louisiana that has the opportunity to light up
heaven. I encourage you to begin to pray, plan and participate in the “Harvest” events that will
take place across the state in 2017-2018. Led by local churches and Associations, this effort
will use every possible means to share the Gospel and encourage people to respond to the
Spirit’s leading.
I’m excited about what God’s going to do in and through this Harvest emphasis. I hope
you are too. God has already told us what His response will be.

The Louisiana Baptist Convention exists to serve the Baptist churches in Louisiana as:

minister or a lay youth leader in the state of Louisiana, you are
eligible and encouraged to attend our regular meetings. The
cost is $20 and includes the meal. No payment is required to
