Great Grove
New Year’s
Resolutions Happy 2014!
By Patricia Guarch Wise, Editor • www.miaminicepopup.com
It’s that time again to start thinking about goals for the
New Year. This year, instead of focusing on giving up
what you don’t like, why not indulge in what you do
like. Here are ten suggestions we know you’ll enjoy.
1 Ohhmmm
Every Tuesday at six o’ clock in
Peacock Park you can live up to
your New Year’s Resolution to
get more focused, more in shape
and more centered – for FREE,
with yoga led by the Grove’s
very own Dharma Studio.
Practicing under the stars, in the
fresh air is the perfect way to get
into your yoga groove.

an astounding amount
of ethnic restaurants
representing cuisine
from all around the
world. Try something
new and taste the food
of India at
Bombay Darbar,
Greece at Acropolis
Greek Taverna and
Thailand at Atchana’s
East/West Kitchen.
Get Balanced
3
Get
Outdoors
There are few better ways to get
up close and personal with nature
than boarding a paddleboard and
navigating through Coconut Grove’s
waters by paddleboard. Make good on
your resolution to spend time outside and
check out the paddleboard opportunities
at Shake-A-Leg in Coconut Grove.
If you’ve pledged year after year to
hit the gym and get in shape but it
just hasn’t worked, throw that idea
out the window and try a new
mind-body approach with Pilates.
This relaxing exercise strengthens the
entire body – even places you never
knew you had – trust me! Schedule a
class at Pilates In The Grove.
8
Listen to
Live Music
7
Maybe you didn’t think of this as a resolution, but hey, it can’t
hurt to listen to more live music, right? The Grove’s restaurants
and bars including Peacock Garden Café, The Grove Spot
and Vino’s offer rotating schedules of talented musicians to
scratch that itch and get your live music on.
Stay Well
Mayfair Hotel & Spa
offers unique, holistic
treatments in their sunlit suites.
The Jurlique Spa ensures that
all their products are organic,
biodegradable and
not tested on animals,
so you can treat
yourself to a wellness

Whether you live
in the Grove or
you’re just visiting,
you should take
advantage of the
bay and start your
new year with a new
perspective of the
city. Take a sailing
lesson. Sailing has
a reputation as a
calming, therapeutic
sport – book a lesson
at the Coconut
Grove Sailing Club
and see for yourself.
