Play a game with your children to help them see the benefits of obeying
right away.
1. Play a game of Simon Says. Instead of saying “Simon,” you can say, “Mommy”
or “Daddy”.

2. Prior to playing, explain that the first person to obey what Mommy or Daddy
says will get a check mark next to their name on a piece of paper. When a
player gets ten check marks, you can give them a ticket that can be redeemed
for rewards after the game. You can give the children extra reading time or
game time for obeying right away. You could also give them an extra treat
after dinner that night for obeying right away.
3. Pray together, thanking God for reminding your family that it’s always good
to obey right away and ask Him to help you remember to obey right away
every time.
You can pull out this game again anytime your children need a reminder of
the benefits of quick obedience.
