Momon Construction hosted a ribbon cutting luncheon on their newly-constructed headquarters located
at 443 Elm Street on Thursday, November 19, 2015. Founded in 1982, Momon Construction, Inc.
is a family-owned and operated business that has made character, competence and dependability an
integral part of the construction process. Owners Matthew Hibberts and Mark Momon operated from a
building on Stones Loop for years but are happy to have a new location in the heart of Calhoun. Give
them a call at 706.625.1881 to set up a tour or visit them online at www.momonconstruction.com.
There’s a new Goodwill in town, located at 261 Highway 53 East, and management is
very excited about creating forty new jobs in Gordon County as they opened for business
on December 3, 2015. So many customers were waiting for the doors to open that it
took almost four minutes to video their grand entrance. Shoppers can call Goodwill at
706.624.1680 for information about their programs or to make donations. Visit them
online at www.goodwillng.org.
Shaheda owner Mohamed Momin invited the Gordon County Chamber of Commerce to a ribbon cutting
for his new store, located at 455 Belwood Road, Suite 49, inside Calhoun Premium Outlets. The ribbon
cutting was held on Wednesday, December 9, 2015. Chamber President Kathy Johnson and Vice-Chair
of the Board, Chrissy Bryant, welcomed the crowd of Ambassadors and then stayed to shop afterwards.
The store phone number is 404.918.7629 and you can browse them online at www.shaheda.com.
Owen Security Solutions celebrated the opening of their new location in
the historic Fox Ford Building at 209 South Wall Street on Thursday,
December 10, 2015. Owner Justin Owen welcomed the crowd to the new
location, which is just down the street from the original location owned and
operated for many years by his parents, Gary and Rebecca Owen. Check
them out at www.owensecurity.com or call them at 706.629.7398 to set up a
tour of the new facility.

GROUNDBREAKING
GEORGE CHAMBERS RESOURCE CENTER
The Gordon County Chamber of Commerce presented a groundbreaking ceremony for the George
Chambers Resource Center on Wednesday, November 11, 2015. The Gordon County Board of
Commissioners and other community partners joined the Chamber’s Ambassador committee at the event.
“We are very pleased that construction of the George C. Chambers Resource Center is now underway,”
said Commissioner Chair Becky Hood. “I want to express our sincere gratitude to the George C. Chambers
Resource Center director, Ms. Mary Barclay, and the George C. Chambers Board of Directors for your hard
work, dedication and compassion,” said Hood. “By expanding the center’s ability to teach critical life skills,
such as purchasing groceries, preparing meals, and money management, local citizens with developmental
disabilities will be equipped to interact in the real world and serve as productive members of our community.”
Killian Clark Partnership, Architects and Momon Construction provided their services for the
project, which is being funded by a State of Georgia Community Development Block Grant and is a
joint venture that will benefit the entire community. The facility should be complete by May 2016.
