By 1870, Phoenix had been named. An exact
town site needed to be selected, and the town
had to be administered. Thus was the Salt
River Valley Town Association formed, and an
area 1 mile long and 1/2 mile wide was
designated the town site. It ran from Jackson
Street north to Van Buren, and 7th Street to 7th
Avenue; the intersection of Washington Street
and Central Avenue (originally Center Street )
was considered the center. The town site is mostly the present day downtown business area.
The territorial legislature created Maricopa County in 1871, by dividing Yavapai County.
The first church and store were also established in that year. The first elected sheriff, Tom
Barnum ran unopposed, also in 1871; his two opponents had a shootout, which killed one,
and lead the other to withdraw his name.
1872 saw the first school, and 1874 the first telegraph line, which was operated by Morris
Goldwater from his father's downtown store. By 1875, Phoenix was home to 16 saloons,
and 4 dance halls, plus a couple of gambling establishments, mostly along "Whiskey
Row" (north side of Washington Street )-not bad, for a town not yet 10 years old!

Our professional stage barricade is mostly used to contain or control large groups of people, especially in
front of a stage or celebrity viewing area. It includes a “step” on the inside which allows our guards
leverage when they are working the barricade area during shows, or need an elevated view of crown density
or activity. It is also made to be very durable and sustain the active crowds that tend to stand in front of it
at concerts. It is specifically manufactured to withstand many thousands of pounds of force. With our
barricade you can lock the pieces together to create a strong line that will hold together, and don’t have the
pieces moving apart from each other when they are being pushed against. The easy inter-connecting pieces
also save time and make setup easy. Another feature that makes the barricades more maneuverable and
easy to store, is the ability to fold-down flat. At the end of the show, you can break the barricade down
quickly into a ready-to-store state. We can also create custom pieces and curved pieces to create the look
as shown below on the far right side. Another custom feature we can add to any configuration of our stage
barricade is room underneath to run wires and cable clusters for mix or remote locations. A stage
barricade needs to be strong, yet practical and flexible in application, and ours definitely is what you will
want to use.

Eclipse Cash Systems, founded in 2003 by Arizona State University
graduates Derek and Justin Smith, is a valley based ATM company
that has grown since its inception to provide nationwide service.
Eclipse began its business operations by providing portable ATM solutions to some of the largest events in the United States including
the Super Bowl and larger State fairs. Eclipse was able to standout by
providing innovative solutions to event venues, such as being one of
the first companies to incorporate wireless communication into our
ATM services. As a result, Eclipse was able to offer unique location
placements that had previously been restricted by the need for
phone line access, in turn leading to greater visibility and increased
transaction volume.
Eclipse’s growth in the event ATM placement business led to opportunities to become a national distributor and processor of ATM’s. Although the company has grown in size, Eclipse remains true to its local roots, continuing to operate and maintain ATM’s throughout the
valley. In regards to the company’s success, Derek Smith stated “We
take great pride in offering complete transparency to our customers,
and have built our reputation upon providing exceptional customer
service and support. We look forward to continued growth into the
future through utilizing the same work ethic that has brought us to
where we are today.”
