TAKING ACTION TODAY.
FOR TOMORROW.
2008 UPL ANDER
At General Motors, our commitment to environmentally friendly
transportation starts right at the top:
“What we do at General Motors profoundly affects the lives of many people.
As the world’s largest maker of cars and trucks, we realize our impact extends
beyond those who drive our vehicles, who work here and who live in our
communities. We also know that our actions today can positively affect the lives of
future generations. It’s a huge responsibility, but also a great opportunity. And
that’s why corporate responsibility is an integral part of everything we do at GM.
We’re determined to be part of the solution to the environmental issues that
we as a global community are facing. To that end, GM is investing billions of
dollars in a broad-based advanced technology strategy to help reduce the world’s
dependency on oil. This includes everything from biofuels like E85 ethanol, to
plug-in hybrids, to electrically driven vehicles powered by advanced batteries and
hydrogen fuel cells. We’ve also made steady and significant progress over the past
five years to reduce our own energy use, conserve natural resources and decrease
greenhouse gas emissions from GM products and facilities.”
Rick Wagoner
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, General Motors

2008 UPL ANDER
WHERE IT ALL COMES TOGETHER.
It’s about spending time together, doing the things you really
enjoy. You set the agenda: we build the vehicle that not only
takes you there, but serves as an integral part of the journey:
Chevrolet Uplander. The fun begins even before you step
inside – Uplander’s styling gives it an unmistakable presence.
The driving experience is equally captivating, thanks to the
powerful, yet efficient 240 horsepower 3.9L V6 with variable
valve timing. Uplander is also built with an understanding that
the last thing you want to worry about is your family’s vehicle.
So you can take comfort in Uplander’s five-star frontal crash
safety ratings,* as well as the standard StabiliTrak™ and
OnStar® systems. Uplander is also backed by the best
coverage in Canada, with our 5-year/160,000 km Powertrain
Limited Warranty,** in addition to 5-year/160,000 km
Courtesy Transportation** and 24/7 Roadside Assistance.**
Let’s Go make it happen. In Uplander.
*Five-star frontal crash rating is for driver and front-passenger seating positions, in the frontal
crash test. U.S. Government star ratings are part of the National Highway Traffic Safety
Administration’s (NHTSA) New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) (safercar.gov).
**Whichever comes first. Conditions and limitations apply, see dealer for details.

THERE’S NOTHING REGULAR
ABOUT UPLANDER’S TECHNOLOGY.
When it comes to family transportation, one size definitely does
not fit all. Which is why Uplander comes in two wheelbases:
Regular (RWB), and Extended (EWB). Both share advanced
technology that’s now standard on all Uplander models,
including the StabiliTrak electronic stability control system,
traction control, and a tire pressure monitoring system.
Extended Wheelbase models add 338 mm (13.3 in.) of overall
length and a substantial 465 L (16.4 cu. ft.) of additional cargo
space. It’s the very capable van that will fill you with confidence,
no matter how big your adventure – or how large your Uplander.

INTERIOR
A rear cargo convenience centre is integrated into the
cargo area behind the third-row seat on EWB models.
One of the compartments is water resistant, allowing
you to transport wet gear.
Lower your tray tables – Uplander offers available
utility trays in the front-row seatbacks, providing a
handy writing surface or a tabletop for food.

CONTROLS
KEEPS YOU RIGHT ON TRACK.
Uplander doesn’t only make you feel very comfortable; it also keeps you
well informed. The Driver Information Centre that’s standard on LT2
models monitors a series of important vehicle functions. In addition,
the standard OnStar system keeps you in contact with an Advisor, who
can contact emergency service providers and direct them to your precise
location. Or if you’re looking for detailed directions, opt for the available
DVD NAVIGATION SYSTEM
The DVD navigation system* (shown below) available on LT2 with
extended wheelbase models uses Global Positioning System
technology to accurately locate your vehicle's position and assist you
with directions to your destination.
*At time of print, detailed map coverage is available for most major urban areas of
the United States and certain metropolitan areas of Canada (Vancouver, Calgary,
Edmonton, Winnipeg, Windsor, London, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City
and Halifax). Coverage is significantly limited outside these areas.
IT HOLDS YOUR STUFF AS WELL AS
YOUR ATTENTION.
The Overhead Rail System is an innovative, mobile storage system. The
203 mm (8 in.) fold-down LCD monitor mounted on the rails. The
storage compartments slide along the rails for easy access. But sunglasses

and wallets aren’t the only things that can go into the Overhead Rail System.
and two sets of wireless headphones. So you can add some of your favourite

steering wheel mounted controls and other available equipment.

The Overhead Rail System is standard on all but RWB LS models.

4. REMOTE STARTING SYSTEM
The factory-installed remote vehicle start system enables you to start
the engine from a distance of up to 60 m (200 ft.), at the touch of a
button on your key fob. The system is integrated with the factory-installed
security system. Standard on LT2 and available on all other models.
TECHNOLOGY
ENGINEERING THAT’S VARIABLE,
FLEXIBLE AND STABLE.
9. FOUR-WHEEL DISC BRAKES WITH ABS
Every Uplander is equipped with large vented disc brakes at all
4 corners. Also standard is a 4-wheel anti-lock braking system (ABS).
6. STABILITRAK SYSTEM
StabiliTrak applies brake pressure at the appropriate wheel or wheels
to address the causes of understeer or oversteer. It responds in
thousandths of a second when a lateral skid is detected, helping
you maintain control and remain headed in your intended direction.
For 2008, StabiliTrak is standard on all models.
10. AUTOMATIC REAR LEVEL-CONTROL SUSPENSION
The rear level-control system automatically adjusts the ride height
of the rear suspension to match the load, optimizing both handling
characteristics and the aiming of the headlights. The system is
available on LT1 and LT2 models.
7. ONSTAR SYSTEM
Another way that Uplander delivers on its commitment to safety:
OnStar and 1 year of the Safe & Sound Plan are standard on all models.
That means you can enjoy the added peace of mind provided by this
comprehensive in-vehicle communications and assistance service.
Ask your dealer for more information on the OnStar plans and services.
6
Look under the skin of Uplander and you’ll find a range of
11. ULTRASONIC REAR PARKING ASSIST
When in Reverse, Uplander’s ultrasonic rear parking assist detects
obstacles in your path that are at least 25 cm (10 in.) in height. The
system then activates audio and LED warnings. Available on EWB LT2.
technologically advanced features that do everything from
boost torque to reduce emissions and enhance driver control.
*Five-star frontal crash rating is for driver and front-passenger seating positions,
in the frontal crash test. U.S. Government star ratings are part of the National
Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) New Car Assessment Program
(NCAP) (safercar.gov).
1
And for 2008, there’s even more standard technology in
2
Uplander, including the StabiliTrak electronic stability control
system, traction control and tire pressure monitoring system.
3
**A NOTE ON CHILD SAFETY: Always use safety belts and proper child restraints,
even in vehicles equipped with air bags. Children are safer when properly secured
in a rear seat. Never place a rear-facing infant restraint in the front seat of any
vehicle equipped with an active frontal air bag. Refer to the vehicle Owner’s Manual
and child safety seat instructions for more information.
4
7
There’s even an available FlexFuel version of the 240 horsepower
V6 with variable valve timing (VVT) that can run on E85
9
ethanol. Engineered around your priorities: Uplander.
10
5
8
1. 5-STAR SAFETY RATING
We know how important safety is to you. That’s why you’ll take added
comfort in knowing that the Uplander has earned the highest U.S.
government safety rating – 5 stars – for the driver and front passenger
in the frontal crash test.*
11
2. V6 POWER
Uplander’s standard 3.9L V6 VVT engine produces 240 horsepower.
Variable valve timing helps the engine achieve close to peak torque
of 240 lb.-ft. across a wide range of engine speeds. The engine is
backed by the 5-year/160,000 km (whichever comes first) Powertrain
Limited Warranty.
3. E85 ETHANOL COMPATIBILITY
An available FlexFuel version of the 3.9L V6 VVT engine can run on
regular gasoline or a blend of up to 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent
gasoline. This E85 renewable fuel is made from biomaterial, helping
reduce carbon dioxide emissions, decreasing greenhouse gases and our
dependence on petroleum.
10
5. TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM
The all-speed, full-function traction control system controls engine,
transmission and brake functions, enhancing traction while accelerating
on slippery surfaces. For 2008, traction control is standard on all models.
8. AIR BAGS
Uplander features standard dual-stage frontal air bags.** This 2-stage
inflator system adjusts the deployment velocity of the air bags
automatically, depending on the severity of the impact – lower-power
at slower speeds of impact and higher-power if triggered by a higherspeed collision. Front-row seat-mounted side-impact air bags are
standard on LT2 and available on LS and LT1 models.
11
ACCESSORIES
GO YOUR OWN WAY.
You can personalize your Uplander by first choosing the model that best reflects
who you are. Then go even further with the added style and functionality of
GM Accessories. They are the only accessories that are integrated into the
process of designing your vehicle, ensuring that they look right and work right
on your Uplander. And only GM Accessories are backed by the 3-year/60,000 km
New Vehicle Limited Warranty.* They can also be included in your new-vehicle
lease or finance agreement through GMAC. Ask your dealer for a complete list
of the GM Accessories available for Uplander, or visit gm.ca
