Young Masters at Play Today in
CV Whitney Final: Audi vs. Lechuza
A fantastic match-up this afternoon between Audi
and Lechuza. At left (photo by Sergio Polite) is Hall of
Famer Gonzalo Pieres enjoying the moment at Palermo
last December as his sons Gonzalito and Facundo just won
the Argentine Open for Ellerstina, defeating three times
defending champion La Dolfina. Gonzalito and Facundo’s
teammate with Ellerstina is Juan Martin Nero, below left,
who was just raised to 10 goals in Argentina. Wednesday in
the semifinals, Juan Martin Nero showed a lot of poise and
finesse handing Pony Express a 1-7 deficit in the second and
winning 14-7. Nero is quiet on the horse, very accurate with
the mallet and has some of the magic Gonzalo Pieres Sr.
displayed in the 80’s and 90’s. Below, Author of the book
“Flirting with Finance” Gwendolyn Beck with friend Bibi
last Sunday at Polo. (ph Frederic Roy)

With great lines and anecdotes from
their illustrious careers, the three train-

Legends, an exclusive partnership raising between $60 and $100 million to buy
and race the best horses they can find.
Said Bob Baffert, “We’re going to make

horses, you want to have fun.”
