The current regulatory climate challenging the core business of US based power companies is overwhelming. New and proposed environmental regulations have forced
numerous power companies to literally shut down coal fire power units to meet impending regulatory deadlines. One of these regulatory challenges, the USEPA Coal
Combustion Residuals (CCR) Rule, has the potential to significantly impact the coalburning power generation industry and literally force US based, coal-burning power
providers to re-think and re-strategize the industry’s futures on how to deal with coal
ash in the United States.

Great American Cleanup Day of Action | 2013
April 27, 2013 | 9:00AM-12:00PM
AL PALONIS PARK
5040 Culbreath Key Way, Tampa, FL 33611
The 2013 GREAT AMERICAN CLEANUP is here. Presented by CARGILL, our GREAT AMERICAN CLEANUP (GAC) DAY OF ACTION will be on Saturday, April 27th from 9am-12pm.
HMSHOST will be sponsoring the “After Trash Beach Bash” at WHISKEY JOE’S from 12pm2pm. Please join KEEP TAMPA BAY BEAUTIFUL (KTBB) and TBAEP and take part in the Great
American Cleanup, Saturday, April 27th, 2013 at 5040 Culbreath Key Way in Tampa. AL PALONIS PARK is located at the east side of
Gandy Bridge, north of Gandy Boulevard and adjacent to the Marine Corps Reserve Center.
KTBB (Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful) will provide the trash bags and supplies. It will be warm, so please bring a water bottle to fill up
and carry with you. There will be limited coolers full of water, but we will be scattered throughout the site during the cleanup. Also, it
is recommended that you wear shoes that tie to your feet, like old sneakers or water shoes. Wear a hat, sunscreen, bug spray and
bring garden gloves. Depending on the weather, you may also want to consider a change of clothes. We will be working in and at the
edge of Tampa Bay so please let us know if you have a canoe or kayak that you would be able to bring out to assist in the cleanup.
If you have any questions or concerns please see below for our contact information. Thank you all very much for your participation
and we look forward to seeing you on April 27th.
Many thanks to the small but intrepid group that showed up at the BLACKTHORN MEMORIAL PARK located on the North Pier of
the Skyway Fishing Pier State Park on Saturday, March 16th, as part of the TAMPA BAY WATCH and KEEP PINELLAS BEAUTIFUL’S land and sea based cleanup. Thanks everyone for taking part and giving back!

Networking Social Event Update
On March 28, 2013 TBAEP hosted our third networking social of the year at FOUR GREEN FIELDS
(FGF) in Tampa. The event was made possible with sponsorships from ENVIROTEK ($250), PINE
ENVIRONMENTAL ($250) and SURVTECH SOLUTIONS ($250). About 125 Tampa Bay area professionals attended the event, including ten students with USF St. Pete and USF Tampa. Our
group enjoyed both the indoor area of FGF and the great outdoor deck and bar. Attendees enjoyed abundant networking opportunities and delicious Shepard’s pie, fish and chips, Caesar salad
and delicious chicken curry rice, thanks to the generosity of our sponsors.
Our March sponsors were represented at the event by Shane Billings, Fred McCay and Wyatt Grant
of ENVIROTEK, Ted Witteman, Brandon James, Lucy Adkins, Pat Bingaman and Charlene Carson of
PINE ENVIRONMENTAL and David O’Brien of SURVTECH SOLUTIONS. If you would like to know
more about our sponsors, please visit WWW.TBAEP.ORG and click on their logos. These events
utilize all of the sponsor’s money for appetizers and a poster board that acknowledges their sponsorship.
TBAEP will host our next networking social on April 25th, 2013 from 5:30-??? (location to be determined). We are still looking for sponsor commitments for the April social. For additional
