We are so grateful for all of our
volunteers. They are a blessing to
us and a joy to have in our
building every day.
Every year we dedicate an
evening just to thank them. This
Volunteer Appreciation Dinner
will take place Monday, April 18,
at 5 p.m.
We will be having a couple of
volunteers tell us a little bit about
why they enjoy volunteering. Our
residents will be giving a small
dedication to them as well.

Spring is in the air
New Activities!
The Lincoln Project will be speaking to
us on April 8. We look forward to
hearing all about former president
Lincoln. We will also be hosting the
Missing Man Table presentation.

team. It is Spring and I'm
so excited for us all to
get back outside. We
have some great events
this month so please
come join us. We have
found our new families
need support as well as
our new residents. We
would really like to get
volunteers from existing
families to come help us
make the transistion
smoother.

This spring we will be going back to
the YMCA to attend the water
aerobics class. The residents have the
opportunity to go every Monday to
work out and have a good time in the
swimming pool.

Betty Johnson
Welcome Betty
New to the Morning Pointe Family
Betty was born in Oklahoma City
but grew up in Modesto, California.
Her family moved there after the
Great Depression. Betty attended
Medesto High School and attended
San Jose State for a year.
Betty, Neil and Sheryl

Betty loves to play cards, especially
bridge. She grew up playing softball
from high school up to 65 years old.
She was a pitcher for 48 years. She
mainly played on local teams and
church leagues. Their team won the
church league championships. They
also won the best all-around team
award twice.
Betty is a team-oriented gal. She
loves to socialize and spend time out
and about in the community.
Betty married the love of her life
Neil Johnson in 1951 in Carson City,
Nevada. They had a blessed 56 years
of marriage and raised four children-three girls, Karen, Kristen, and Sheryl,
and one boy, Dale. She is very proud
of her successful children. She also
has 7 grandchildren and 2 great
grandchildren. Family is a big deal to
Betty.
Betty was a Director of Christian
Education in the Episcopal St. John
Church in Charlotte and the Trinity
Church in Asheville for 20 years. She
planned the curriculum for the year
and recruited teachers. Her favorite
part was leading the youth.

Betty's favorite memory is when she
was baking pies for the church and
the kids thought they were for them.
She loved that they realized that they
should do all things for god.
