THE CHALLENGE
In the past, Advocate Lutheran General Hospital has worked with multiple mechanical contractors
to maintain the wide variety of machinery and equipment in their facility. In order to streamline the
machine maintenance, the hospital wanted to consolidate and work with a single company who could
handle everything from their large chillers critical to the hospital, to the smaller, non-critical machinery.
Lutheran General’s equipment includes:

THE SOLUTION:
For the last 25 years, Lutheran General worked with Kroeschell, primarily to provide service and
support to smaller mechanical devices. However, the hospital selected Kroeschell as the main
service provider to manage the entire operation because, unlike the major manufacturers, we have
experience working on all brands of machine. Now, the hospital has one point of contact for the
maintenance of the critical (and non-critical) equipment that keeps the facility functioning 24/7/365.

Up to two seasonal inspections and up to 12 operating inspections yearly
Response to emergency calls in under two hours
Preform seasonal start-up and shutdown and to perform winter maintenance
Equipment adjustments and furnish labor and material for equipment repair
To furnish and replace filter media as needed
Power wash condensers up to once a year
THE RESULTS:
With a Kroeschell Service team available 24/7, there have been no major breakdowns or unscheduled
downtime since taking on this service project. Our familiarity with the hospital provides us with a
complete understanding of the facility and has expanded Kroeschell’s role with the company to
include construction jobs, boiler retrofits and general service calls.
