Day 1: Thursday, June 25, 2015
Kansas City/Independence/Liberty
Upon arrival in Kansas City we will drive to Independence to visit the
LDS visitors center and temple lot--the site where the first temple was
commanded to be built in this dispensation. Following dinner we will travel
to Liberty to visit the jail and visitors center. It was here during the winter
of 1838-39 that the Prophet Joseph Smith was imprisoned. During his
incarceration, he received Doctrine and Covenants, Sections 121-123.

Day 2: Friday, June 26, 2015
Richmond/Far West/Adam-ondi-Ahman/
Nauvoo
Following breakfast, we will drive along the banks of the Missouri River to
Richmond to see the Three Witnesses Monument. We will then continue
on to Far West to see the temple site and have a picnic lunch. Our next
stop is Adam-ondi-Ahman. Following dinner we will continue our scenic
drive to Nauvoo. Overnight at the Nauvoo Family Inn & Suites. (B,L,D)
Day 3: Saturday, June 27, 2015
Nauvoo
Today we will begin our tour of old Nauvoo. Among our stops will be
the Joseph Smith Homestead, Mansion House, gravesites of Joseph,

Emma, and Hyrum, and the Red Brick Store. Next we will visit the brickyard,
blacksmith shop, and the homes of Lucy Mack Smith, Heber C. Kimball, and
Wilford Woodfruff. Tonight we ll enjoy a musical production at the Cultural
Hall performed by missionaries. Overnight at the Nauvoo Family Inn &

Day 4: Sunday, June 28, 2015 Nauvoo/Carthage
Following sacrament meeting we ll visit the visitors center, view the film
Remembering Nauvoo, and walk through the statuary park dedicated to
women. After lunch we will visit the pioneer cemetery and then depart for
Carthage. We will tour the jail where the Prophet Joseph Smith and his
brother Hyrum were martyred. Following dinner, we will walk the Trail of
Hope and read excerpts from diaries of the Saints who joined the Mormon
exodus from Nauvoo in 1846. Overnight at the Nauvoo Family Inn & Suites.

Day 5: Monday, June 29, 2015
Nauvoo
We begin today with a morning temple session at the Nauvoo Temple.
(Attendance is optional and subject to the temple schedule.) In the afternoon
we will have free time to visit the Riser Tin Shop, Scovil Bakery, Browning
Gun Shop, Times and Seasons Print Shop, Brigham Young home, or other
historic sites. Tonight we will see the production “Sunset on the Mississippi”.

Day 6: Tuesday, June 30, 2015
Nauvoo
As we say our farewell to Nauvoo, we continue on to Mark Twain’s Hannibal
on the Mississippi River where we’ll take a luncheon cruise on a riverboat.
Following lunch, we’ll drive to St. Louis for our evening flight home. (B,L)
About Hank Smith:
Anybody who s heard Hank Smith teach falls in
love with him and his fun style with both adults
and youth. If you love to laugh while learning
you re going to enjoy traveling with Hank and
his wife Sara. He currently teaches in the CES
program & Religious Education Department at
BYU.
Hank is a favorite speaker for BYU Education
Week, Especially for Youth and Time out for
Woman & Girls with several of his talks on CD/DVD
being best sellers at LDS outlets. Both Hank and
Sara, were raised in St. George, Utah. They are
the parents of one daughter and now four sons. In
his sparse fee time Brother Smith enjoys running
marathons and eating lots and lots of ice cream
(which is why he runs marathons). More than anything, Hank loves being at
home spending all day with his wife and children.
