Beginning last May, the Coalition has been celebrating our 25th Anniversary. Since 1989, we have found forever families for 2,500 children, and counting. It has been a wonderful year of celebrating – in 25’s! Here are just a few ways we’ve honored our families: • Last May, we fêted 25 special foster moms who had been nominated for this honor. • 25 Dads were celebrated too at a fun get-together in October. • The Coalition provided 25 scholarships to resource parents to attend the annual NACAC (North American Council on Adoptable Children) conference in July. • 25 families have been helped by our Urgent Needs Fund. • We provided more than 25 beds so children can move right in with their forever families. • 250 children and families were able to attend a special evening at The Magic House and a St. Louis Rams game! • 2,500+ Little Wishes were granted • 2,500+ prom dresses were donated to The Cinderella Project We owe a big thank you to all the wonderful committee members who, led by Chairs Holly Demerath and Connie Lohr, are dedicated to improving the lives of our most vulnerable children. We also thank the many Coalition volunteers who are selling raffle tickets, staffing the tables, and working in the bank this evening. It will close at 7:30PM. Pink Section 2 is located in the far left corner as you enter the ballroom. It will close at 8:00PM. White Section 3 is located in the near right corner as you enter the ballroom. It will close at 8:30PM. Bidding • Starting bids are printed on each bid sheet. Bids must start at the starting bid. • PRINT Bid Number, Name Legibly. • Each bidder’s first entry on a bid sheet must clearly state bid number, name and bid amount. • Subsequent entries by same bidder on same bid sheet must clearly state bid number and bid amount in order to be considered a successful bid. • Bids must be raised by a minimum of $10.00. • Announcements will be given to alert you of section closings 10, 5 and 2 minutes prior to the closing of each section. • All bidding ends when the section is announced closed. • After section closes, bid sheets will be removed to determine winner. • Winning bid will be circled and bid sheets will be returned to auction table as soon as possible. • If bid is not complete, is illegible, or does not meet the minimum raise requirement, the next highest bid will be considered the winning bid. • Decisions made by the Foster & Adoptive Care Coalition staff are final. Payment • The bank opens at 9:00pm. To bypass paying at the bank, please Express Pay. • Express Pay must be secured by 7:10pm. • When checking out at the bank, present your bid number to the banker. The bank will have record of your winning bids. The bank will provide you with receipts to present to table monitors for item collection. Collecting Purchased Bags • Auction items may not be removed from the auction table until released by the table monitor. • Once bid sheets are returned with the winning bid circled, winning bidders should check out with the table monitor by presenting their bid number. • Items must be paid for by Express Pay or in the bank by cash, check or charge prior to removal of the item from the table. • The winning bidders must sign the bid sheet confirming their bid and receipt of the item. ix Old Bags 2015 Terms & Layout Buy-Now Bags • Buy-Now Bags are located on the left side as you enter the ballroom • If you see a bag you like, buy it immediately for only $30.00! • A volunteer is there to help you. Mystery Bags • Mystery Bags are located in the left corner as you enter the ballroom. • One Mystery Bag contains a NEW Kate Spade Tote valued at $275 • All of the Mystery Bags contain goodies such as great gift certificates. • Buy a Mystery Bag for $25. • As soon as all of the Mystery Bags are sold, you may collect yours. • There is no limit to the number of Mystery Bags you can purchase. Raffle Tickets Buy a raffle ticket for a chance to win a brand new Prada “Vitello Daino,” a Day of Indulgence for four at Neiman Marcus (includes beauty makeovers and lunch in The Zodiac), and a $250 Neiman Marcus gift card. This package, worth $2,380, was generously donated by Neiman Marcus. • Tickets are sold by volunteers throughout the ballroom and at the raffle table in the center of the ballroom. • Tickets are $25 or 5 for $100.00. • Raffle winner will be drawn at 8:15pm. • You need not be present to win. • No refunds, exchanges, or returns through the Coalition or Neiman Marcus. CENTERPIECES To purchase a centerpiece, please take it to the Mystery Bag volunteer. They will fill out a ticket and put a SOLD sticker with your bid number on it. All centerpieces are just $15.00. All items are sold “as is.” Foster & Adoptive Care Coalition has made every effort to describe items correctly based on the information provided by donors. The value listed is an estimate of fair market value. Any amount you pay above this fair market value is normally tax-deductible as a charitable contribution. Please consult your tax advisor. Any auction items not claimed by August 1st will be considered a donation to the Foster & Adoptive Care Coalition and may be used by the Coalition as it deems appropriate. Good Luck!
