NEWS RELEASE
For immediate release – July 5, 2013
Tecumseh Corn Festival Entertainment Line-Up
The Tecumseh Corn Festival is excited to announce that it has booked its headline
entertainment line-up for the 38th annual Tecumseh Corn Festival at Lacasse Park.
Friday, August 23rd – Shawn Desman
Saturday, August 24th – Kira Isabella
“This year, the Tecumseh Corn Festival continues its tradition of bringing big-name
Canadian entertainment to the stage. Names like the Rankin Family, Natalie MacMaster,
Hedley, Finger Eleven, Theory Of A Deadman, Our Lady Peace, and The Tea Party
have graced the festival stage, so Shawn Desman on Friday night and Kira Isabella on
Saturday night are a natural fit, and will be sure to entertain,” says Corn Festival
Committee Chair, Deputy Mayor Cheryl Hardcastle.
With a platinum debut album, a sophomore Juno Award winning album for Best R&B/Soul
Recording, chart-topping singles & vides, movie roles and international accolades under his
belt, singer/dancer/songwriter/producer Shawn Desman is poised to launch his highly
anticipated fourth album. His high-energy, infectious single, “Let’s Go”, exploded onto the Top
40 radio chart after just 1 week, peaking at #1 proving he is a superstar entertainer worthy of all
the critical acclaim and destined to be at the forefront of the global music stage. His Platinum
selling single “Night Like This” reached # 1 in Canada, and the video reached # 1 on both the
MuchMusic and MuchMoreMusic Charts consecutively as well as garnering MMVA for Video of
the Year.
From her hometown roots of Ottawa, Ontario, Kira Isabella has been performing her up-tempo
country music across Canada. In 2011, Kira released her first single “Love Me Like That” and it
was a runaway hit crossing over into Canadian Hot 100 Chart, while also earning a 2012
Canadian Radio Music Award in the Country category at Canadian Music Week. In 2012, Kira
was awarded with the Canadian Country Music Award for Rising Star, and was added as
support for the Canadian dates on Carrie Underwood’s Blown Away Tour. Earlier this year, Kira
was nominated for a Juno award in the category of “Breakthrough Artist of the Year” and named
“Female Artist of the Year” at the Country Music Association of Ontario’s inaugural awards
show.
Also performing on Saturday evening is Ontario native Leah Daniels. Blending country, pop
and everything in between, Leah’s upcoming album, Leah Daniels, is a distinct mix of heartfelt
lyrics, catchy hooks, unique composition and a passionate delivery, that when combined, add
up to something truly special.
