soy wax products at home and selling them at
a local market. Although no longer produced in
the kitchen, the brand still maintains its sense of
home. Darceys products are still crafted by hand
in our Scottish workshop.

The Benefits of Soy Wax
The soy wax that Darceys have chosen is 100% GM free
and no pesticides or herbicides are used at any stage in its
cultivation. Soya beans are, of course, a renewable source
and the wax is naturally biodegradable, so it is really is an
eco-friendly product.
Soy wax burns cleaner than paraffin wax, which is made from
crude oil. During burning, petrol-carbon soot is released that
can blacken walls as well as releasing toxic carcinogens in to
the air. Paraffin candles not only release toxic chemicals but
they are also a much larger risk for fires due to the build up
of these toxins.

Our Bestselling
Product
Our wax melts are designed for use in burners. They do
NOT mix with water. Pop your melt into the well of your
burner with a tea light underneath (preferably soy wax
tea light - see page 20).
A commonly asked question:
How long does each melt last?
The answer varies due to the melting process and soy
wax not burning like a candle. It all depends on your
scent tolerance, size of your room and scent being
released. Stronger scents could last a little longer.
It is only the scent that is released and will eventually
evaporate, not the wax. Most customers average two 4
hour tea lights per heart melt. Melts come in a box of 8
hearts with minimum of 24 hours burning time.
When you are ready to change your wax, you can soak
up melted wax with kitchen roll or if your wax has
already solidified, place the burner in the fridge for 10
minutes.
The cold shrinks the wax and it will pop out easily, ready
for your replacement. Wait until your burner is back to
room temperature before using again.

wax our products provide a scent throw that
is the envy of the industry and have a long
burning time.

1 & 2 Wick Candles
Soy wax is an amazing natural wax with many benefits, however it can change due to the climate
when it is harvested. If produced during a really cold season this has an impact on the wax. It makes
the wax harder and therefore our candles need to be made using double wicks to allow the heat to
melt the full candle.

Soy wax has a memory and candles should always be burned for 1 hour per inch of the diameter of
the candle jar. If burned for less than 1 hour, the candle will tunnel not allowing the candle to burn
to its full potential.
Wicks should always be trimmed too. A longer wick produces a larger flame which can become a
dancing flame. Our candles create the perfect relaxing ambience and if cared for properly then they
will allow you to relax and enjoy them to their full potential. Your safety is our priority.

When paraffin tea lights are used in oil burners the build up of paraffin/soot gathers inside
the burner between the tea light and the bottom of the well.
If burners are not cleaned properly, this paraffin build up could have the potential to catch

Never Ever Ever use scented tea lights in your burners.
Most scented tea lights are made from paraffin wax. The space where your tea light is situated is a contained
space and with the build up of the chemicals in the scent and the paraffin this is a huge fire risk!!
Although unscented tea lights are also paraffin wax, as long as your burner is cared for properly the risk is reduced.

Check your burner for build up of paraffin which is the black soot and wash out burners regularly.
To reduce the risk even more use soy wax tea lights.
Wax melts are a fantastic way to accessorise your room whilst getting the scents you love filling the space. They
are also perfect if you don’t have a lot of time. Once the tealight is lit in the burner the wax on top will start to
melts and the smell will be released within 5 - 10 minutes.
Our wax melts come in bags of 8 hearts , each hearts has a burning time of 8 hours (roughly 2 x 4hr tealights)
When used and cared for correctly they are completely safe. To ensure that your oil burner continues to work
safely and effectively please follow these instructions:

Rinse the inside of the burner, preferably between each new tealight. Soot can build up inside the burner
from the tealight (particularly if using parraffin tealights)

Ensure that all tags, safety instructions, labels, etc are removed from the burner before use.
Use a heat resistant mat underneath the burner to prevent marks on counters, shelves, etc.

Never use scented tealights in oil burners
Never leave burner unattended when in use.
When the scent has ran out you will be left with the soy wax in the burner. Leave it to cool and then place
in the fridge. Once it has gone cold you will be able to pop the wax out and put in the bin. Ensure that you
leave the burner to return to room temperature before using again to avoid the burner cracking.

Scented Soy Wax Candles
Our scented soy wax candles are an ideal way to fragrance your home if you aren’t keen on Oil burners.
Our small jar candles hold 130ml of scented wax with a burning time of up to 40 hours.
Our large jar candles hold 300ml of scented wax with a burning time of up to 90 hours.
For best results please follow these instructions:

Make sure that you are only using candles when you are likely to have them lit for some time. When burning
the candle you should allow the wax to melt across the full top of the candle before extinguishing to avoid
welling.
Use a heat resistant mat underneath the candle to prevent marks on counters, shelves, etc.
Never leave a candle unattended
Always to remember to trim candle wicks. After first burning, check wick and trim before re lighting candle.
