The Philippine Water Works Association, Inc. (PWWA) cordially invites you to participate and
join us once again in Cagayan de Oro City for the holding of the 23rd International Conference
and Exhibition on Water Resources Management dubbed as Philwater 2015.
An annual project of PWWA, this year's Philwater with a theme “Water, Energy, Food Nexus:
Challenges of the Century” will be held in collaboration with the Cagayan de Oro City Water
District (COWD). Thus, from October 21-24, 2015, water industry professionals and experts as
well as water & waterworks suppliers and consumers from here and abroad are expected to
troop in the capital city of the province of Misamis Oriental, the City of Golden Friendship –
Cagayan de Oro City.
Once again, our warmest welcome and we assure you of an enjoyable stay in the country's
golden city of friendship and that each and every one of us will gain a lot from this conference.

THE VENUE
Cagayan de Oro is a first class highly urbanized and capital city of the province of Misamis
Oriental in Mindanao, southern part of the Philippines. It serves as the regional center and
business hubs for Northern Mindanao (Region X), and is part of the growing Metropolitan
Cagayan de Oro area, which includes the city of El Salvador.
The City of Cagayan de Oro is located along the central coast of northern Mindanao island facing
the Macajalar Bay and is bordered by the municipalities of Opol to the west; Tagoloan to the
east, and provinces of Bukidnon and Lanao del Norte to the south of city. According to the 2010
Census of Population, the city has a population of 602,088 people, making it the 10th most
populous city in the Philippines.
Cagayan de Oro is also known as the City
of Golden Friendship, the Heart of
Northern Mindanao, Gateway to the Land
of Promise, the City of Gold and
Adventure Capital of the Philippines for its
famous whitewater rafting or kayaking
adventures, one of the tourism activities
being promoted along the Cagayan de
Oro River.
Official venue of this year's Philwater is the Limketkai Luxe Hotel. This hotel is currently the first
LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) building in the Philippines to be
certified by the U.S. Green Building Council. The hotel was also endorsed as the first gold hotel
in the Philippines.
