Celebrate 40 Years Norwalk Truckers
1974 State Football Champs
1974 State Football Team to be Recognized at All-Classes Reunion
The 1974 football team defeated Louisville St. Thomas Aquinas for the first team state title in Norwalk High
School history. What a season! The NPSAA is planning to honor the ‘74 State Football Champions at this
year’s AUGUST 17, 2014 ALL CLASSES REUNION!
Anyone involved in any way from the classes of ‘75, ‘76, ‘77, and ‘78 , as well as coaches is invited to attend.
If you were a Truckerette, Cheerleader, Band Member, or just a fan, come and enjoy the afternoon! We are
going to have a great time at NHS from 2—5 p.m. on August 17th. This will be the first time the team has been
together since 1974.
Start spreading the word! Team members—Dan Hipp has designated a former player from each class to contact
team members. If you have not been contacted by now, you can reach Dan at 419-668-5320 or at this email

Dale Olcott ‘53 “The Reunion was pretty neat.
Somebody’s doing a lot of
work. I met some cousins I
didn’t even know would be
there. The Signal I’m holding is from Oct.1952. The
article states our football
team beat Galion 47-7 and
Bellevue 43-12.” Dale
was honored that year as
All-League end.

ATTENTION BAND ALUMNI for 2015
Dust off those instruments! Get your winds in shape!
Alumni have expressed an interest in having an
alumni band play at the Aug. 16, 2015, All-Classes
Reunion!!! Yes, 2015. Perhaps play the Fight Song, Alma Mater,
and some other selections. It would take interested former band
members to help organize this. That would be done over the next
year. No one group had more fun in high school than the band.
This could be a good time! We will have a sign up at the August
17, 2014 All Classes Reunion. If you cannot attend that day,
contact us at [email protected] or write to: Bob
Mitchell, 3309 Coopers Trail, Lorain, Ohio, 44053 and include
your phone number. It is important to tell us if you would like
to help get this off the ground. With emails, Facebook, and no
cost long distance calling, anyone could assist . We would need
a director, music, a way to disseminate music ahead of time, and
other logistics.
ORCHESTRA MEMBERS
Do you recall playing Mr. Laycock’s
Yosemite Suite? Mr. Laycock’s son,
Rand, has kindly given us permission to
make Yosemite Suite and some other
orchestral selections available to alumni.
As your alumni organization, we are
making efforts to build our Archives. The
original manuscript of Yosemite Suite has
been given to us by Rand and will become
a part of the Archives. We plan to
have a CD which includes Yosemite Suite available to alumni at the
August 17 All-Classes Reunion.

of four straight NOL titles and a string of 57 straight regular season wins. Another state title
