CigarFamilyCharitableFoundationhas
fundedmorethan$14.3millionthathascreatedaripplingimpactonnotjustthestudentsandfamiliesoftheCigarFamilySchool,
butinthesurroundingcommunitiesand
aroundtheworld.
Becauseofthegeneroussupportofsomany
overthepasttenyears,childrenwhonormallywouldhavedroppedoutofschoolare
nowinaUniversitystudyingtobecomea
doctor,ateacheroranengineer.Yourgift
hasbeennotjustaneducation,butthegiftof
hope.Hopeforafuturethatwouldn’teven
havebeenadreamwithouttheCigarFamily
CharitableFoundation.
Inmanyrespects,tenyearsisashortperiod
oftimeforaprivatefoundationtoestablish

timecigarindustrybusinesspartners,the
FuenteandNewmanfamilies,formalized
thedreamofimprovingpeople’slivesin
themountainousBonaoregionoftheDominicanRepublic.Byfocusingonfamilies,theyhopedtogivethechildrenin
thiscigarproducingregionanopportunityforabetterfuture.
Consistingof iveruralcommunities,the
regionsuffersfromextremepoverty,an
overcrowdedandinadequateeducational
system,poorwaterqualitywhichgreatly
affectsthepopulation’shealthandlittle
ornomeansoftransportationforsustainableemploymentinthearea.
TheFoundationpartneredwiththeInstitutoDominicanodeDesarrolloIntegral
mission:
(IDDI),aDominican-basednonpro itorganizationwhoforthepast30yearshas
been ightingpovertybyprovidingtrainingandtheskillsnecessarytomakea
positivechangeforthoselivinginboth
urbanandruralregionsoftheDominican
Republic.
Whatbeganasaplantoaddawingonto
anexistingschoolhasgrownintothe23
acreCigarFamilyComplex.TheComplex
includesaprimaryandsecondaryschool,
ahealthcenter,anorganicfarmingprogramaswellasasportsandrecreational
facility.
ThroughtheCigarFamilyComplex,childrenandfamiliesarebeingprovidedwith
theresourcesandtoolstheyneedtohelp
themselvescreateopportunitiesfortheir
future.
to provide a significant humanitarian impact to communities in
the Dominican Republic resulting in a better quality of life to
those who experience a lack of education, poor access to
health care and nutrition, and who have little or no sustainable
employment.

utilizedtheprojectinsomeway.

sports,communitycenter,etc.)
 ~4,500water iltershavebeendistributedtofamiliessincethe
foundingoftheproject.
ExtracurricularActivities:

schoolsinthesurroundingcommunitiesparticipatedinextracurricularactivitiesofferedattheCigarFamilySchool.

CigarFamilyBaseballAcademy

2014 program accomplishment highlights
I annual report 2014 page 6 Toast Across America: Each fall,
generous retailers across the country
provide Toast Across America packs,
including 2 limited edition cigars, to
their customers and donate the proceeds back to the Cigar Family CharitableFoundation.Sincethebeginning,
Toast Across America has been the
main source of funding for CFCF. In
2014,theToastfundraiserraisedover
$340,000.
Hockey for Hope: In partnership
with the Tampa Bay Lightning, CFCF
hosted this 3rd annual event. Tickets
included inecigarsandseatsinaprivate suite where food and open bar
are complimentary. Guests mingled
while cheering on the Tampa Bay
Lightning hockey team and enjoying
cigars.Theeventraisedover$15,000
forCFCF.
HavanaNights:AFuenteFamilyAffair:Anightoflatinmusic,clothes,
foodanddancing,theGuayaberaLady
hostedthis3rdannualfundraiserin
Miami,Florida.Theeventraisedover
$17,000forCFCF.
GodofFireDinner:Aftera5year
hiatus,theglamorousGodofFiredinner,delightedhundredsofLAguests
atthePeninsulaBeverlyHills.An
eveningofunbelievablefoodpaired
with inewinesandArturoFuente
GodofFirecigars,thiseventraised
over$46,000forCFCF.
