Colin Masterson - 1987 Nissan S12
For the past six year, the story of Colin Masterson and his 1987 Nissan S12 has been one that has garnered
the attention, numerous accolades, and has helped in changing the perception of Nissans from the ‘80s.
Commonly known as Project S12/26, this build has continuously been noteworthy with much promise in the
future.
What started out as to be a simple build in ‘05, Colin’s Nissan S12 has become much more than that. It first
began its ascent into the larger import scene in 2006 when it was the first RB-powered S12 in the US and
the second in the world. Four years later in 2010, Colin’s S12 attained a new height as it became the first
RB26DETT powered in the US and the second in the world.
With each step, Colin’s styling and keen sense of balancing the need for both form and function has led to
a build that has not kept to the current trends but instead has created its own. Although a dominating force
within the S12 community, Colin’s S12 has made significant inroads into the greater import community
proving that dreams and lofty goals can be attained.
As an international icon, Project S12/26 will be attending numerous events in the Pacific Northwest and in
California while pursuing features both online and in print. Exposure will be quite varied as there are many
interested in Colin’s S12 in addition to the many contacts Colin has accumulated over the past several
years with editors from both magazines and blogs. Because of this incredible range that both Colin and his
S12 has within both the domestic and international import scene, it is able to provide a great opportunity as
the audience he is capable of reaching have virtually no limitations.
