Next Steps for Light Rail
Maintenance Facility
After the second level of screening was completed for light rail maintenance facility sites,
several candidate sites (9) remain. The first two levels of screening included a series of yes or
no questions where if the answer to a question was no, the site was eliminated from further
consideration based on a fatal flaw. Due to the large number of remaining sites, additional
analysis screening will be completed to compare the remaining sites to one another based on
how well they meet the criteria. The additional analysis is a qualitative (good/better/best)
approach that uses the same criteria that were used for the first two levels of screening.
Examples of the criteria include reducing the number of properties that need to be purchased
and traffic impacts among others.
The sites that are most effective at meeting the screening criteria will be carried forward as
light rail maintenance facility candidate sites and will be fully evaluated in the draft
environmental impact statement (DEIS).
Recommendations from the additional analysis will be presented at corridor-wide meetings
this fall.

No
The I-70 East Corridor Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) will decide which transportation projects
will be built to improve safety and mobility, and address congestion in the corridor. The I-70 East
Corridor includes I-70 between I-25 and Tower Road and a rapid transit connection between downtown
Denver and Denver International Airport (DIA).
Tonight’s neighborhood meeting is being held to provide residents, businesses, and stakeholders with
information regarding the potential sites for RTD light rail maintenance facilities, to answer any
questions, and to hear the community’s thoughts and/or concerns.
Please take a few minutes to share any comments or thoughts about the topics that were discussed at
tonight’s meeting.
1. What comments or concerns do you have regarding the criteria and/or screening process for
