Discussion
• Only two species of fish, C. gachua and M. albus - due to high altitude level and low
water level during sampling time.
• High abundance of Channa gachua and Macrobrachium sp. along the hill stream –
suitable habitats.
• Palaemonid prawn (Macobrachium sp.) and and parathelphusid crab (Irmengardia
johnsoni) are the common foods for C. gachua (Ng and Kelvin, 1989).
Discussion
• The existence of the dwarf snakehead indicates a good water quality of the hill
streams.
