Offsetting Operations and Maintenance Costs

Modernization and Facility Upgrades can sometimes increase operations and maintenance costs





Depending on the age of facility / equipment
When implementing wide leaps in technology
Neutralizing energy usage not always possible on individual projects
Addressing recurring and nonrecurring costs at the time of system design can be challenging
Working across projects for offsetting opportunities benefits Government and Industry  Using a not‐to‐exceed agreement wherein full supporting documentation is not yet available
 Coordinating offsetting puts and takes across projects for overarching recurring cost pool to cover increases and decreases through a defined, agreed to process
