Buku keterangan ini adalah penjelasan
dari Peta Satuan Lahan dan Tanah lembar Toboali (1112), Sumatera, sekala
1:250.000.
This booklet is an explanation of the
1:250,000 scale Land Unit and Soil map
of the Toboali
mapsheet
(1112),
Sumatra.
Legenda peta berisikan satuan lahan
yang merupakan satuan geomorfik dan
dibatasi dengan cara menginterpretasi
foto udara, citra satelit dan citra
Radar. Isi dari tiap satuan lahan
diperiksa di lapangan dan kemudian
dicatat. Hanya sebahagian dari semua
informasi ini disajikan dalam peta,
sedangkan sebahagian lagi diberikan
secara ringkas dalam Buku Keterangan
ini ; informasi yang lebih lengkap
dapat tersedia jika diminta.
The legend of the map consists of Land
Units, which are geomorphic units,
delineated by interpretation of images
such as aerial photographs, satellite
imagery and Synthetic Aperture Radar.
The contents of each of the units is
checked in the field and recorded.
Only part of this information can be
represented in the map; the remainder
is briefly documented in the present
explanatory notes, and more complete
information is available upon request.
Simbol peta menunjukan grup fisiografi
(huruf besar), tipe batuan (huruf
berada dimuka kode grup fisiografi
menunjukan adanya tutupan dari bahan
lain, seperti tutupan abu volkan pada
perbukitan dari batuan sedimen atau
lapisan bahan organik tipis pada
dataran aluvial.
Hap symbols indicate physiographic
group (capital letter),
rock type
(lower case letter), and subdivisions
according to slope and dissection (in
sloping and uplifted areas) or to
sedimentary/hydrological environment
(in recent alluvial and marine areas),
indicated with numbers. Lower case
letters preceding the physiographic
group code are used to indicate covers
of material with differing composition, such as volcanic ash covers on
hills of sedimentary rocks, or thin
peat on alluvial plain units.
Grup fisiografi tersebut adalah :
Kubah Gambut, Aluvial, Marin, Teras
Marin, Dataran Tuf Masam, Dataran, Tuf
Masam Toba, Volkan, Karst, Perbukitan,
Pegunungan/Plato dan Aneka Bentuk.
Grup Dataran Tuf Masam, Tuf Masam
Toba, Volkan, Kubah Gambut dan Karst
pembagiannya didasarkan pada tipe
batuan dan morfologi yang spesifik
yang hubungannya erat dengan sifat
tanah yang spesifik. Grup yang lainnya
sebahagian besar hanya berdasarkan
pada morfologi.
The physiographic groups are : Peat
Domes, Alluvial, Marine, Marine Terrace, Acid Tuff Plains, Plains, Toba
Acid Tuff, Volcanic, Karst, Hill,
Mountain/Plateau and Miscellaneous.
The Acid Tuff Plain, the Toba Acid

1. PENDAHULUAN
1. INTRODUCTION
1.1.Latar belakang
1.1.Background
Buku Keterangan dan Peta Satuan Lahan
& Tanah ini merupakan sebaglan has il
akhir survëi tanah tinjau Sumatra yang
dilaksanakan untuk Proyek Perencanaan
dan Evaluasi Sumber Daya Lahan dan
diprakarsai tahun 1988 oleh Pemerintah
Indonesia serta dibiayai oleh Bank
Pembangunan Asia.
Pelaksanaan survei dilakukan antara
bulan Februari dan Maret 1989 oleh Tim
Survei Tanah dari Pusat Penelitian
Tanah (PPT), sedangkan korelasinya
dilakukan pada bulan Januari
Februari 1989.
This explanatory booklet and the included maps are part of the final
results of the reconnaissance soil
survey of Sumatra, which was carried
out for the Land Resources Evaluation
and Planning Project (LREP), initiated
in 1988 by the Goverment of the
Republic Indonesia and financed by the
Asian Development Bank.
The sheet was surveyed
between
February and March 1989, by teams of
the Center for Soil Research (CSR).
Hap correlation was carried out in
January - February 1989.
1.2.Konsepsi legenda
1.2.Legend concept
menginterpretasi citra. Legenda satuan
lahan memungkinkan adanya pembatasan
setiap satuan dengan sembarang ukuran
yang masih dapat dipetakan (tergantung
skala peta) dengan memanfaatkan namanama morfologi sederhana
dan
berulang. Pendekatan ini menunjang
Struktur hirarki dan merupakan sistem
terbuka sehingga dapat diperbaharui
sesuai dengan penerapannya
di Indonesia; ia tidak memuat parameter
iklim (parameter iklim disimpan dalam
data base terpisah dan dapat digabung
dengan data base satuan lahan).
Tambahan pula legenda satuan lahan
bentuk
lahan, sistem lahan dan satuan lahan
tanpa k e l i r u
penggunaannya
(Desaunettes, 1977; RePPProT, 19851988; Kips et al. , 1981) .
The legend for this survey is based on
the Land Unit approach. This approach
is considered most suitable for this
survey,
because
at a scale of
1:250,000 , with low-density field
checks, all unit boundaries are obtained by image interpretation. The
land unit legend allows the delineation of mappable units of any size
(depending on map scale), it makes use
of morphologic'.j. names which are
simple and recurrent, it supports an
hierarchical structure, it is an open
system that can be amended for use
anywhere in Indonesia, and it does not
contain climatic parameters
(the
climatic parameters are stored in a
separate data base which can be combined with the land unit data base).
A Land Unit is defined here as an area
of land of which one or more attributes have special characteristics,
and it refers to an environmental unit
of any size that can be delineated.
The smallest unit that can be
Furthermore, the land unit legend is
closely related to previous Indonesian
land form, land system, and land unit
legends (Desaunettes, 1977; RePPProT,
1985-1988; Kips et al., 1981) without
being confusing.

dapat d i b a t a s i tanpa menghiraukan
sekalanya berukuran 2 mm lebarnya bila
bentuk memanjang dan kurang lebih 3
sampai 4 mm bila berbentuk bulat. Pada
sekala 1:250.000, suatu satuan yang
membulat dengan diagonal 4 mm meliputi
kurang lebih 80 ha.
Satuan lahan dikelompokkan dalam
grup-grup
f i s i o g r a f i dan kadangkadang dibagl lagi kedalam sub-grup.
Untuk informasi lebih lengkap, lihat
pada Buurman et al (1988) dan Balsem
et a l . (1989)
delineated on any map, irrespective of
scale is about 2 mm wide if it is a
linear feature and about 3 to à mm
across if it is a circular feature.
At a scale of 1:250,000, a circular
unit of 4 mm across has a surface of
nearly 80 ha.
Land units are grouped together
in
Physiographic Groups and, in some
cases, in Sub-Groups.
For more detailed informat ion, see
Buurman et a l . , (1988) and Balsem et

1.3.Struktur legenda satuan lahan
1.3.Structure of the land unit legend
Semua satuan lahan diberi kode berupa
huruf dan angka/dijit; masing-masing
dengan konotasi khusus tergantung
tingkat klasifikasinya.
All mapping units are coded by means
of a sequence of characters and
digits, each with its specific connotation which depends on its level in
the classification.

METHODOLOGY
2.1.Peta dasar
2.1.Base maps
Peta dasar untuk keperluan pencetakan
Peta Satuan Lahan & Tanah disediakan
oleh BAKOSURTANAL. Untuk lembar peta
ini, peta dasar yang digunakan adalah
peta JOINT OPERATIONS GRAPHICS (JOG),
Lembar SB48-15, Seri 1501, Edisi 2,
Toboali yang dikeluarkan oleh Royal
Australian Survey Corps, 1982.
Base maps for the printed Land Unit
and Soil map were provided by BAKOSURTANAL. For the present sheet, the base
map was the Joint Operations Graphics
(JOG), Sheet S348-15, Series 1501,
Edition 2, Toboali, published by The
Royal Australian Survey Corps 1982.
1112 - 3
2.2.Interpretasi citra
2.2.Image interpretation
Survei tinjau ini sebahagian besar
didasarkan pada interpretasi citra dan
batas-batas satuan sesungguhnya
ditarik berdasarkan citra. Macam citra
yang digunakan adalah sebagai berlkut:
The surveys are extensively based on
image interpretation and virtually all
unit boundaries are imagery-based. The
following imagery was used:
-potret udara hitam/putih sekala
1:100.000, Angkatan Udara Australia
1976 (umumnya kualitas rendah karena
dicetak berulang kali dan pemrosesan
yang kurang baik).
-LANDSAT komposit warna (band 4-5-6)
sekala 1:250.000 tahun 1985 yang
diperoleh dari LAPAN (kualitas bervariasi, sekala kurang teliti).
-citra Radar stereo STAR-1,
1988
(cetakan hitam putih, kualitas tak
optimal).
- 1:100 000 scale black/white aerial
photography, Australian Airforce,
1976, (usually poor quality due to
recopying and poor processing).
- 1:250,000 LANDSAT colour composites
(bands 4-5-6), 1985, obtained from
LAPAN (varying quality, inacurate
scale).
- 1:250,000 STAR-1 stereo Radar imagery, 1988 (black/white positive
prints, quality not optimal).
2.3.Survei dan data lapangan.
2.3.Field survey and field data
Pelaksanaan survei tinjau dapat dibagi
dalam beberapa tahapan kerja:
The implementation of the reconnaissance survey can be split up into a
number of essential steps :
1. penelaahan data dan informasi dari
peta dan laporan tersedia.
2. interpretasi citra dan penetapan
daerah kunci
3. pengamatan lapangan dan pemasukan
data ke komputer
4.penyusunan satuan lahan dan
pemasukan data ke komputer.
5.analisis contoh tanah
6.melengkapi uralan
satuan
lahan
dengan data analisis.
7. korelasi/verifikasi lapangan
8. produksi peta akhir
9.dijitasi peta dan pemrosesan data
base lainnya.
Laporan Tehnis PDBT No.5 (Balsem et
al., 1988).
1977; SCS, 1978; Gallup, 1978).
Contoh tanah yang représentatif
dianalisis sifat-sifatnya seperti yang
disajikan pada Tabel 2 .
1. perusal of existing maps and reports
2. image interpretation and selection
of sample/key areas
3 . field observations and computer data
entry
4. preliminary land unit descriptions
and computer data entry
5. soil sample analyses
6. completion of land unit descriptions
with analytical data
7. correlation/field verification
8 . final map production
9. map digitizing and other data base
operations.
All observations
in the
field
(auger ings and profile pits) were
described, coded and entered according
to standard
SDBM procedures
as
described in SDBM Technical Report
No.5 (Balsem et al., 1988).
These
codes are mainly adapted from standard
FAO and USDA codes
(FAO,
1977;
SCS,1978; Gallup, 1978).
Representative soils were analyzed for
the properties listed in Table 2.

As mentioned above, all field and
analytical data are stored in computerized data bases. The main data
bases are :
- field observations (auger and pit).
- analytical data
- land unit descriptions
Data base pengamatan lapangan berisi
semua parameter yang dapat diukur di
lapangan dari setiap tempat pengamatan. Yang didiskripsi dan disimpan
adalah nomor tempat/site, tempat,
lereng, vegetasi/penggunaan lahan dan
semua sifat-sifat tanah yang diukur di
lapangan seperti Struktur, porositas,
tekstur, warna, dll. (lihat Laporan
Teknis No 5a, Versi 1.1, (Baisem et
al. , 1988).
The field observations data base contains
all parameters
that
were
measured in the field, for each of the
observations sites. Described and
stored are site number, location,
slope, vegetation/landuse and all soil
properties that are measured in the
field, such as structure, porosity,
texture, colour etc (see Technical
klasifikasi tanah (Lihat Laporan
Teknis No 7a - Buurman, 1988; Laporan
Teknis No 17 - Muslihat et al., 1989).
The analytical data base contains all
results of chemical , physical and
mineralogical
analy ses and
all
properties used for fertility appraisal or class ification, that are
calculated with these analyses (see
Technical Report No 7 - Buurman, 1988;
and Technical Report No 17 - Muslihat

Pada data base pengamatan lapangan dan
data base analisis, data dapat
dikeluarkan dengan cara memanggil
/menuliskan nomor pengamatan, nomor
In both the field observations and in

2.6.Relaibilitas peta
2.6. Map reliability
Relaibilitas dari peta tergantung pada
beberapa faktor seperti: kerapatan
pengamatan, keragaman tanah, kualitas
dari citra penginderaan jauh, lokasi
dari titik pengamatan atau daerah
kunci, ketepatan dari batas tanah
maupun batas satuan lahan, tingkat
pengetahuan dan pengalaman surveyor.
Tidak semua dari faktor faktor ini
dapat diukur dan karena itu harus
diperkirakan.
The reliability of a map depends on
many such factors as observation density, soil homogeneity or complexity,
quality of the remote sensing imagery,
the location of sample/key areas, accuracy of soil units and soil boundaries, the level of education and the
amount of experience of the soil surveyor'. Not all of these can be
measured and so they have to be estimated.
Berdasarkan faktor faktor tersebut
diatas, terutama kerapatan pengamatan,
menjadi 3 grup (Gambar 2).
Based on the above mentioned factors
mainly on observation density, three
classes of map reliability have been
established (Figure 2).

4.1. Fisiografi
Bentang alam daerah lembar peta
Toboali dapat dibedakan kedalam Lahan
Basah (Lowland), Lahan Kering (Upland)
dan Perbukitan. Lahan Basah selanjutnya dibagi lagi menjadi Grup Kubah
Gambut, Grup Marin dan Grup Aluvial,
sedangkan Lahan Kering terdiri dari
Grup Dataran.
Lahan Basah (Lowland f
Lahan.

drainase terhambat, tanahnya umumnya
belum matang atau setengah matang
(half ripe).
Daerah demikian
biasanya ditumbuhi vegetasi nipah atau
mangrove dan tidak tergenang pada
waktu surut. Daerah yang jauh dari
laut menjadi rawa permanen dan bersifat payau, dan umumnya ditumbuhi
oleh hutan gelam atau vegetasi rendah
seperti rumput. Hutan lebat hanya
dijumpai pada daerah marin tua, dimana
semua kadar garam terlarutnya telah
tercuci.
Di bagian selatan peta dijumpai sisa
jalur beting pantai dan cekungan
(beach ridges and swales). Jalur ini
terdapat agak jauh dari laut dan
sebagian tidak memanjang garis pantai
dan telah tererosi. Beting pantai tua
ini umumnya telah kehilangan karbonat
yang turun kebawah sampai permukaan
air tanah, dan tanahnya telah mengalami perkembangan. Perkembangan tanah
ini pada daerah cekungan tidak nyata.
Pada garis pantai, Grup Marin ditandai
oleh adanya dataran mangrove dan
tanahnya belum matang. Daerah rawa
luas antara jalur mangrove dan beting
pantai tua kemungkinan mengandung
bahan organik yang cukup tebal atau
mempunyai tanah-tanah
yang serupa
dengan tanah-tanah pada dataran
mangrove. Daerahnya basah sepanjang
tahun.
Daerah yang termasuk Grup Aluvial
dijurapai disebelah barat dari Grup
Marin, terutama di bagian selatan
peta. Grup Aluvial ditandai oleh
adanya pelembahan aluvial luas dan
pelembahan erosif di daerah Dataran.
Pelembahan aluvial luas (A.1.2)
terutama membentuk rawa belakang yang
luas yang selalu jenuh air. Tanahnya
tebal.
Tanggul sepanjang sungai utama sedikit
lebih tinggi letaknya dari rawa
belakang, dan terbentuk dari bahan endapan halus. Tanah-tanah di daerah ini
hampir serupa dengan tanah pada rawa
belakang, hanya drainasenya lebih baik
sedikit.
Pelembahan aluvial di daerah Dataran
umumnya erosif dan hanya sedikit
mengandung bahan endapan.
Kubah gambut dijumpai pada bagian
utara lembar peta ini dan luasnya
cukup besar.
bahan organik bertambah jika makin
jauh dari sungai. Lapisan liât dibawah
lapisan bahan organik umumnya mengandung pirit dan karenanya terbentuk
tanah-tanah potensi sulfat masam.
Lahan Kering (Uplands)
laut dangkal. Di lapangan tidak selalu
dapat dengan mudah dibedakan dari
bahan Dataran Tuf Masam yang sudah
lapuk, raeskipun sifat kimia dan
mineraloginya berbeda, nyata. Tutupan
bahan ignimbrit Kuarter menipis dari
Teluk Lampung menuju arah utara dan
hanya ditemukan di bagian barat laut
lembar peta ini.
Karena Dataran punya sejarah yang
cukup kompleks, banyak sisa tanda
proses pembentukan tanah dijumpai,
seperti tutupan konkresi besi, lapisan
plintit, dll. Pada beberapa daerah,
dijumpai sisa dari teras sungai.
Di lembar peta ini, kisaran ketinggian
dari Grup Dataran antara 10-70m diatas
1112 - 15
muka laut.
Pembagian lebih lanjut dari Grup
Dataran berdasarkan morfologi bentang
alam dan tingkat torehan. Karena
proses pembentukan tanah jauh lebih
tua dari proses penorehan (erosi),
maka perbedaan adalah antara profil
tanah lengkap (tererosi sedikit) pada
daerah punggung, dan profil tanah
tererosi ringan sampai berat pada
lereng. Tanah hidromorfik terdapat
pada lereng bawah/ perali'han ke lembah.
Tanah umumnya mempunyai perbedaan
tekstur yang nyata antara horison A
dan B dan karenanya diklasifikasikan
sebagal 'Kanhapludults'.
Tropaquepts. Sifat-sifat kimia dari
tanah-tanah ini umumnya miskin dan
mempunyai kadar aluminium yang cukup
tinggi pada lapisan bawah.
Pada bagian yang lebih tua dari Grup
Dataran, tanahnya sudah mengalami
perkembangan lanjut dan diklasifikasikan sebagai Oxisols (Hapludox).
Perbukitan
Perbukitan pada lembar peta ini hanya
ditemukan di Pulau Bangka dan
merupakan sisa i n t r u s i sienit yang
terdapat di Batuampar sebelah utara
jalan
antara
Pampangan
dan
Tulungs e 1apan ( b a r a t l a u t Pulau
Bangka). Intrusi batuan plutonik ini
muncul dipermukaan sebagai singkapan
diantara sedimen Palembang.
4.2. Geologi
Pre-Tersier
Formasi batuan plutonik sienit (pTsy)
dan Formasi batuan plutonik granit
(pTgr) serta Formasi batuan metamorfik
skis termasuk dalam Pre-Tersier;
mengandung kasiterit (oxida timah).
Skis Toboali yang umumnya berwarna
hijau muda mengandung mika, khlorit
dan talk.
Tersier
Formasi Palembang Anggota Bawah (Tmpl)
dan Formasi Palembang Anggota Tengah
(Tppp) mewakili sedimen Tersier di
daerah peta ini. Formasi-formasi ini
masing-masing disebut Formasi Air
Benakat dan Formasi Muara Enim.
Bentuk wilayah intrusi sienit terdiri
dari bukit-bukit kecil terpisah
(.isolated
hillocks).
Berdasarkan
adanya singkapan batuan plutonik di
daerah ini dapat diduga bahwa gejala
t e r s e b u t merupakan akibat proses
peneplainasl.
Formasi Palembang Anggota Bawah yang
terdapat di baratlaut terdiri dari
batulempung, serpih- dan batupasir
glaukonitan yang merupakan endapan
lingkungan neritik. Batulempung berselingan dengan batupasir lempungan
glaukonitan.
kira-kira timur-barat.
Tanah diatas sienit umumnya mempunyai
perbedaan tekstur yang nyata antara
horison A dan B dan diklasifikasikan
sebagai Ultisol. Tanah yang telah
tererosi diklasifikasikan sebagai Inceptisol.
Formasi Palembang Anggota Tengah
(Miosen Atas - Pliosen) yang sebagian
besar terdapat di tengah dan selatan
terdiri dari batupasir, batulumpur
yang banyak berselingan dengan lapisan
batubara. Tppp di bagian atas umumnya
1112 - 16
Enim. Tppp terletak selaras pada Tmpl,
sebaliknya Tppp tertutup tak-selaras
oleh Tuf Ranau.
Ketebalan Tppp
diperkirakan berkisar antara 600 dan
800m.
Kuarter
Kuarter terdiri dari formasi Tuf Ranau
dan Aluvium termasuk Holosen.
Formasi Tuf Ranau (Qrv) terdäpat di
utara Pematangsipanggang membujur ke
timurlaut. Formasi Tuf Ranau berupa
tuf lempungan, tuf liparit mengandung
4.3. Hidrologi
Secara keseluruhan kawasan timur
Sumatera, Pulau Bangka dan P.Belitung
serta pulau-pulau lalnnya menunjukkan
ciri-ciri tenggelamnya dataran rendah
dibawah permukaan pada zaman Kuarter
tua. Maka oleh sebab itu, daerah agak
datar dan keadaan tata air di daerah
datar ini dikendalikan oleh gradient
kecil sehingga
drainase terhambat
dengan akibat penggenangan yang luas
dan bersifat permanen. Keadaan ini
dominan terjadi di rawa belakang dan
cekungan di sekitar Way Mesuji dan
Sungai Lumpur.
Berdasarkan pengaruh pasang surut
dataran rendah dapat diidentifikasi
sebagai daerah yang sedikit atau sama
sekali tanpa pengaruh pasang surut
yakni jalur aliran sungai perenial dan
tawar, dataran banjir musiman, rawa
belakang air tawar bergambut masam;
batas kawasan ini dengan pengaruh
pasang surut sangat ditentukan oleh
jauhhya intrusi pasang besar di musim
kemarau dan desakan balik air- sungai
waktu musim penghujan (NEDECO, 1981).
Oleh sebab itu sungai-sungai yang
relatif pendek dengan desakan air
tawar kurang kuat untuk menekan air
laut, kemungkinan besar pengaruh
pasang surut terasa jauh ke pedalaman,
a.l dapat diamati pada Sungai Mesuji
dan S.Lumpur yang tergolong pendek.
Dataran rendah yang langsung terkena
pasang surut di daerah ini tampak
jelas yakni sejauh alur-alur pasang
surut (tidal kreeks) yang panjangnya
antara 2 sampai 5 km, bahkan ada yang
10 km lebih: dari selatan ke utara
Sungai Siburbesar, S.Jerwu, S.Lebonghitam, S.Riding dan S.Pidada..
Daerah yang relatif kering adalah
dataran Formasi Palembang yang agak
meninggi dibandingkan daerah tergenang
di sekitarnya. Daerah pematang. bagian
selatan merupakan dataran berombak,
didrainase oleh Sungai Mesuji dan
cabangnya a.l. S.Dabukputih, S.Dabukitem, S.Talangbatin, yang berpola
dendritik.
S.Belidang (keduanya cabang S.Lumpur)
yang dendritik.
Keadaan tata air dl daerah Pulau
Bangka sekitar Toboall berbeda antara
daerah granit dan skis yang umumnya
berdrainase baik dan dataran rendah
yang berdrainase terhambat dan bahkan
setempat-setempat tergenang permanen
dan musiman serta daerah pantai dengan
pengaruh pasang surut.
1112 - 17
5.SATUAN LAHAN
tetapi sering raengandung pirit. Jenis
tanah yang mendorainasi satuan lahan
ini adalah Tropohemists dan
Sulfihemists.
Grup Kubah Gambut, Grup Aluvial, Grup
Marin, Grup Dataran, Grup Perbukitan
dan Grup Aneka Bentuk (Gambar 6). Pada
setiap satuan lahan umumnya ditemukan
lebih dari satu satuan tanah (pada
tingkat Great G r o u p ) , dan agar
memudahkan pembacaannya maka setiap
satuan tanah yang dijumpai pada setiap
satuan lahan ditentukan luas penyebarannya secara kualitatif, yaitu:
-Sangat dominan: apabila penyebarannya
>75% dari luasan satuan lahan.
-Dominan: apabiia penyebarannya antara
50-75% dari luasan satuan lahan.
-Cukup: apabila penyebarannya antara
25-50% dari luasan satuan lahan.
-Sedikit: apabila penyebarannya antara
10-25% dari luasan satuan lahan.
-Sedikit sekali: apabila penyebarannya
<10% dari luasan satuan lahan.
Dibawah ini akan diuraikan mengenai
keadaan tanah yang dijumpai pada
setiap grup fisiografi.
Grup Kubah Gambut
tergenang sepanjang tahun. Dalam
lingkungan demikian sisa tumbuhan
(oligotrofik). Bahan mineral di bawah
gambut umumnya miskin unsur, khusus
kalau teksturnya kasar. Bahan halus
dari sedimen marin umumnya lebih kaya,
1112
Daerah ini pada umuranya untuk jangka
pendek tidak mempunyai nllai untuk
dikembangkan sebagai daerah pertanian.
Kecuali sesetempat di bagian pinggir
yang ditempati jenis tanah Tropaquents
dapat dijadikan untuk areal persawahan
lebak dalam luasan yang sempit dan
dengan pengendalian air yang baik.
Penghambat utama di daerah ini adalah
kandungan unsur hara/miskin, ketebalan
gambut dan genangan permanen serta
bahaya keracunan pirit (Sulfihemists).
Grup Aluvial.
Tanah tanah pada grup fisiografi ini
umumnya berkembang dari bahan endapan
halus dan Hydraquents merupakan tanah
yang dominan dijumpai pada Dataran
Aluvial Luas (A.1.1), sedangkan tanah
drainasenya sangat terhambat. Tingkat
kesuburannya tidak begitu menjadi
masalah dimana diantaranya mempunyai
kadar P total dan nllai Kapasitas
Tukar Kation tinggi.
Tanah tanah pada Lembah Aluvial Luas
(A.1.2) cukup bervariasi, yaitu Tropaquepts, Tropaquents, Fluvaquents,
Dystropepts mempunyai drainase baik.

Grup Marin.
Pada Grup Marin tanah yang paling
banyak di jumpai adalah Hydraquents,
Sulfaquents dan Sulfihemists sedangkan
yang lainnya adalah Fluvaquent s dan
Tropaquents. Terbentuk dari bahan endapan halus. Sifat s i f a t dan permasalahan tanah Hydraquents saroa
seperti Hydraquents yang di jumpai pada
Dataran aluvial luas. Seperti halnya
Grup Dataran.
Tanah tanah didaerah i n i umumnya
berkembang dari batuan ^pHimen halus
maupun kasar yang berasal dari forraasi
Palembang Tengah dan Bawah.
lukan penelitian lebih d e t a i l .
Adanya lapisan kongkresi Fe pada
daerah perakaran pada penampang tanah
akan sangat menganggu pertumbuhan akar
tanaman. Adanya lapisan p l i n t i t juga
kurang baik bagi tanaman, karena jika
lapisan ini kontak dengan udara akan
menjadi sangat keras. Jadi pada tanah
tanah yang mengandung lapisan p l i n t i t
Disebutkan d i a t a s

yaitu <16 cmol(+)/kg l i â t . Tanah-tanah
ini kurang dapat nenyimpan pupuk jika
dilakukan pemupukan. sehingga cara
pemberian pupuk pada tanah ini mtujadi
masalah yang utama. Salah satu caranya
ialah dengan raemberikannya secara bertahap. Salah satu cara mengatasi rendahnya n i l a i Kapasitas Tukar Kation
ini ialah dengan penambahan bahan organik.
Menurut k l a s i f i k a s i USDA tanah yang
banyak dijurapai di daerah Dataran
ialah Kanhapludults, Dystropepts dan
Tropaquepts, dimana tanah yang d i s e but kan pertama mend orai nasi dal ara hal Tanah lainnya yang di jumpai i a l a h
