PRICE & INFORMATION GUIDE - INSERT
YOUR SUMMER SEAFARING STARTS HERE!
By reading this brochure you probably share our belief that there is a Seafarer somewhere within all of
us - that free spirit for adventure that can only be satisfied on deck at the helm on open water.
It doesn't matter whether you're a regular, weekend, occasional or even first time Seafarer, among
these pages you will find excellent company and the ideal holiday at exceptional value for money.
WHY THOSE IN THE KNOW CHOOSE SEAFARER…
●
Seafarer is a leading independent company large enough to offer a comprehensive range of sailing destinations, yet
small enough to still offer a truly personal specialist service, both at the booking stage and overseas. What’s more,
being independent means our prices are really competitive and great value.
●
All our packages are designed to suit you. Simply tell us what you want from your holiday and we will do the rest. We
specialise in tailor made holidays such as sail and stay and can meet your specific requirements on a range of yachts,
accommodation and destinations.
●
We have been trading since 1995, so we have a great deal of experience to offer.
●
We offer special savings for repeat bookers with some of our special offers exclusive to past clients, whilst our repeat
booking ratio is amongst the highest in the industry.
●
You can choose from a selection of fantastic destinations in the warm waters of the Eastern Mediterranean and
Caribbean, as well as a worldwide bareboat charter and exotic cabin charter selection.
●
Your holiday with us is financially secure as we are fully bonded and ATOL licensed and protected, so you can book
with total confidence.
●
Seafaring is a way of life for us, but we do understand this is your well-earned holiday and will do everything we can to
make your experience a happy one. That way we hope to have you returning to sail with us year after year.
●
It all adds up to the perfect holiday afloat - plot your course for adventure now and set sail with Seafarer this summer.

HERE’S WHY YOU’LL LOVE SEAFARER TOO:
SEAFARER FLOTILLAS
●
We have fantastic flotillas with modern yachts comprehensively equipped, all
of which are meticulously maintained and many less than three years old.
●
Our Crews are hand-picked for their experience and commitment, with good
knowledge of the area and the country.
●
Our flotillas tend to be smaller, typically 5-10 yachts for a friendlier
atmosphere and better service from our crew.
●
We give you the flexibility to do as you please, with plenty of opportunity for
free sailing or staying out later to enjoy sailing in the afternoon breezes.
●
During the 2014 school holidays, our flotillas in the South Ionian will have a
dedicated children’s rep with extra activities for children and teenagers, plus
extra equipment such as paddle boards.
●
Our regular flotilla fleets in the Ionian and Dodecanese in Greece, in Croatia
and in Turkey are equipped to British standards with slim-line auto life
jackets, gas and smoke detectors, fire blankets and jack stays fitted on deck
as standard. They also have fans in every cabin.
●
Whilst we recognise that our clients are our best advert, we do not force you
to be a garish floating advert during your sailing holiday, so we keep our
yacht branding low key.
SEAFARER BEACH CLUBS
●
Our beach clubs in Greece enjoy fantastic beach front positions in beautiful
surroundings so we, more than anyone, understand the importance of location.
●
We adhere to the principle that ‘small is beautiful’ with our beach clubs, each catering
for a maximum of 50 or so guests for a truly friendly atmosphere and exceptional
service from our instructor and safety team.
●
We offer a great range of equipment and courses, plus day yachts for day trips and
pre flotilla training. Nikiana Beach Club is an RYA training centre and since last year
we also offer instructor and safety boat training at this club.

Seafaring in GREECE – All Time Classic
The Greeks have been a nation of seafarers since time immemorial – no surprises
when large parts of your homelands are either islands or virtually inaccessible by land.
Homer referred to these waters as his ‘wine dark sea’, while Helen of Troy was the
legendary ‘face that launched 1,000 ships’.
And while this Eastern end of the Mediterranean has been both a highway and a
crossroads simply for ever, the shores around have provided safe harbour for the
travellers and adventurers of history. Today their legacy of picturesque harbours,
stunningly scenic bays and anchorages, Byzantine churches, crusader castles and
ancient temples is your playground.
We have seafaring options in Greece to suit everyone. More adventurous sailors should
set a course for the Dodecanese or Northern Sporades and Pelion Coast, while those
looking for a more leisurely time will enjoy the clement waters cruised by our Saronic
Gulf plus North and South Ionian flotillas. The latter coastline plays home to our beach
club, whilst Lefkas is our home port for our RYA yachting school.
If you fancy sailing on a larger yacht with a professional crew to do most of the work,
then join our ‘share a sail’ programmes in the Cyclades, the Sporades and the Eastern
Aegean.
Finally we offer ‘bareboat’ charters from a range of bases in the Ionian and throughout
the Aegean, including the Cyclades, the Saronic Gulf, the Sporades or the Dodecanese
– Whatever your choice you will be exploring some of the world’s very best!

SEAFARER BEACH CLUBS
LEFKAS & KOS
Back in the eighties and nineties, all you needed for a wonderful
holiday was a great beach, some dinghy sailing or windsurfing and a
really friendly sea front taverna with a swimming pool as a bonus. Our
Beach Clubs in Greece offer exactly this simple formula, with unlimited
sailing, superb and scenic beach front locations, a pool, a taverna and
simple comfortable air conditioned rooms, many with sea view.
Why Choose A Seafarer Beach Club?
•
•
•
•
•
•
We operate small & friendly clubs for up to 50 Seafarer guests
Superb beach front locations
There is plenty of equipment to suit all abilities
Real personal service from our experienced instructor team
Dinghy sailing, multi hull, windsurf and yacht tuition for all abilities
We offer Club & Flotilla 2 centre holiday combinations
Our smaller beach clubs, Nikiana on the island of Lefkas and Kefalos
on the island of Kos, are smaller family run properties in the most idyllic
of settings and are conveniently close to our flotilla bases for club /
flotilla 2 centre holidays. Mountain bikes can be hired for those times
when you may want a change from sailing.
We have added a stay option on the cosmopolitan island of Mykonos
this summer with a stunning beach-front location and a nearby world
class windsurfing centre ideal for experienced windsurfers.
At all our clubs you can be sure of a warm welcome and the friendly
atmosphere and service that only smaller clubs can provide.

NIKIANA BEACH CLUB
LEFKAS ISLAND - GREECE
Nikiana Beach Club yet again scored
the highest ratings amongst our clients
last summer and our formula of smaller,
friendly and welcoming ‘taverna style’
clubs like this has certainly won us
many regular guests. Located in Nikiana
village on Lefkas island, this small and
perfectly formed beach-front complex
has 26 rooms, a fresh-water swimming
pool and a very good family run taverna
in a quiet location with stunning
scenery. The beach is sand and shingle
and it’s a simple, traditional style
property where many of the rooms have
either full or partial sea view.
However, it is not without proper ‘mod
cons’, with new en suite bathrooms, a
balcony, refrigerator, electric kettle, air
conditioning and a TV with satellite
channels in every room.
Accommodation is offered on a BB
basis, since the family run taverna on
site is too good to miss, whilst the
village centre is just a short stroll for a
good choice of alternatives. During
school holidays we operate a kid’s club
with sailing and beach activities.

KEFALOS BAY BEACH CLUB
KOS - GREECE
This hotel was previously a dinghy sailing and
windsurfing centre so no doubt familiar to many in the
UK Market. New to Seafarer for 2014, thanks to
excellent equipment and ideal windsurfing conditions,
we know this will be an excellent centre. Set on the
sea front with a huge sandy beach, Our club at hotel
Kordistos in Kefalos offers simple comfortable
accommodation, a pool, a bar and an excellent
beach-front taverna. The well-equipped windsurfing
and sailing centre and the idyllic windsurfing
conditions are the real highlight of this club.
The Seafarer contingent is limited to a maximum of
around 36 guests enjoying unlimited use of the
windsurfing and sailing facilities.
The village of Kefalos with its choice of restaurants,
cafes and shops is just a short stroll from the hotel.
The wider area also offers great opportunities to
explore, with archaeological sites such as the
Asklepeion, the ancient home of Hippocrates the
father of the medical profession, is well worth a visit.
The attractive capital of the island is perfect for an
evening out and it is all within easy reach.
Accommodation is offered on a half board basis with
breakfast and either lunch or dinner according to the
programme included in the price.
12
club facilities

mountain bikes are available for hire as well as car hire with some
great day trip options. The simple bedrooms are comfortable with
a balcony, en-suite bathroom with shower, air conditioning, flat
screen TV and mini- fridge. Some rooms accommodate three
persons and full sea view rooms are available at a supplement.

IONIAN ISLANDS

Flotilla
Ionian islands
These Ionian Seas offer a stunning combination of cruising opportunities.
At one extreme you can still discover uninhabited islands and hidden away
coves. At the other you have harbour sides full of Venetian charm and
sophistication. In between, translucent waters, short passages and clement
conditions, ideal for the more relaxed sailor.
In the Northern Ionian, discover the mainland and islands from our new
base in Preveza to Corfu on one of our dedicated two week flotillas, with
plenty of time to explore the Island of Corfu, including the historic capital,
as well as renowned beauty spots at Paxos, plus Parga and Ligia on the
mainland coast.
In the Southern Ionian, sailing from our base at Lefkas marina we plot a
course for the pristine waters of Meganisi and onwards to the sophistication of Fiskardo and the picture postcard beauty of Kioni on Ithaca.
Week two explores the south coast of Lefkas, with Sivota and Vassiliki
within reach before heading to the unspoilt islands of Kastos and kalamos.
Each island has its own unique allure as part of the patchwork Ionian
experience. You can swim in iridescent waters, explore timeless villages set
amongst olive groves and vineyards, then indulge in the tastes and
flavours of native Greece in traditional tavernas and lively bars. It’s a
wonderful fusion of ease and adventure.
SAIL & STAY
The verdant island of Lefkas and neighbouring Meganisi are still more
popular with locals than foreigners which ensures you can still find
authentic local cuisine. Why not combine a week on flotilla with a week
ashore to explore the delights of this beautiful area. Our Nikiana Beach
Club is both convenient and ideal if you still want to do some sailing with a
great range of kit on offer. Alternatives include private villas, apartments
and a choice of hotels to suit most budgets. Simply call us to
greece
discuss your requirements and leave the rest to us.

LEARN TO SAIL
SOUTH IONIAN AND SARONIC GULF
The warm sunny Greek seas are the perfect place to learn
or improve your sailing skills and the professionally qualified
native English speaking instructors of our RYA recognised
sailing school are the ideal tutors. Courses are on offer for
all abilities from complete beginner up to Coastal Skipper
and Yachtmaster on our own ‘live-aboard’ tuition yachts
operating from Seafarer’s base at Lefkas from March until
early November. We can also organise tuition from Poros in
the Saronic Gulf.
Alternatively you can choose to charter one of our tuition
yachts exclusively for your own party and we can provide a
live-aboard instructor for an RYA course or pre-flotilla
training – it’s a great way to combine a holiday and sailing
course for friends or the family.
Some nights we meet up with the flotilla for social events,
and after one week’s training many guests progress to
skippering a yacht in the flotilla in week two.
Courses on our tuition yachts include continental breakfast
and light lunch plus fuel, port dues and taxes. Tuition with
private charter does not include any catering, fuel and
mooring, costs of which are extra.
Dinghy sailing, windsurfing and powerboat courses are
available at Nikiana Beach Club in Lefkas between May and
October. Here you can enjoy the accommodation and
facilities at the club during your tuition. This summer we
have introduced dinghy instructor courses in May, June and
September.

FLOTILLA
THE DODECANESE ISLANDS
We have long been fans of this beautiful and historic area which has until
now been the preserve of savvy bareboat clients who have already
discovered the tremendous amount that this beautiful area has to offer.
The combination of some of the better known and more cosmopolitan
Greek Islands such as Kos or Kalymnos, with some of the smaller and
lesser known gems of the Dodecanese such as Nysiros, Halki or Symi,
make this an irresistible proposition for more experienced sailors.
You can be virtually assured of some consistent fresh winds, so you will be
enjoying plenty of sailing, with wonderful destinations at the end of each
day at sea.
Join our flotilla in Kos, and if sailing for one week, choose from two great
itineraries: Explore the Turkish coast, Symi and Nysiros to the south or
explore our new route to the north, including stops in Kalymnos and Patmos
before returning to Kos.
SAIL & STAY
Kos is an ideal island to spend a few extra days or a week as an addition
to your Flotilla holiday. We offer a great choice of beach hotels and new for
2014 you can combine your flotilla holiday with a week at our new high
performance windsurfing beach club in Kefalos Bay, see page 12 for
details. We also offer the option of adding a stay in the Bodrum area in
Turkey.

THE SYMI ROUTE
THE WEATHER
Sat Kos – Arrivals and Departures: Fly to Kos and transfer to Kos marina for embarkation. Kos is the home
of the father of modern medicine Hippocrates and the ancient ruins of the Asklepieion medical complex

up to the high 30s between June
and September. Sailing conditions
are variable ranging from moderate

season from late July through to
late August, so we generally
recommend this area for more

dramatic location. In the evening, we dine in the solitary taverna ashore.
Mon Datca (20 nm) – Today we formally check in to to Turkey at Datca a bustling harbour town with a
traditional feel. Dine ashore in one of the many traditional restaurants, Our favourite is ‘Maradonna’s’
owned and run by a gentleman who just has to be the famous Argentinian’s Turkish twin brother.
Tue Symi (15 nm) – The stunning harbour of Symi is a great place to sail into. The town steeply climbs the
hillsides around the harbour like an amphitheatre. It retains its' traditional neo-classical character and
charm having been much renovated over recent years. Be sure to climb the steps to the church for a
superb panoramic view.
Wed Panormitis, Symi (14 nm) – A well sheltered scenic bay surrounded by pine clad hills and dominated by
the notable monastery of the archangel Michael, protector of Seafarers and well worth a visit. Dine

FLOTILLA
SARONIC GULF & PELOPONNESE
The narrow waterway between Poros and the mainland makes a great
natural harbour for our home base, complete with waterfront tavernas and
bars. From here our first week normally takes us north via Epidavros, with
its fabulous amphitheatre, to visit the floating fruit and veg boats in the
‘pistachio and pottery port’ of Aegina town. En route we drop anchor at
sleepy Perdika, Korfos and Vathi. Week two finds us south of Poros in the
mythical and sheltered waters of the Argolic Gulf visiting Hydra, rich in
local art where cars are banned and donkeys rule the road. Onwards to
historic Nauplion, with its imposing castle and Venetian quarter. We then
slow things right down for the final few days cruising around the delightful
fishing ports of Astros, Plaka and Ermioni. We usually hold our beach party
on the island of Spetses, then a day's free sailing before returning to Poros
– Make sure you don’t miss this ancient volcanic island’s neo-classical
wrought iron balconied buildings marching up the hillside. This flotilla is
operated in association with our long standing local partners the Kouvaras
family. In high season a 2 week south itinerary is offered going as far as
Kyparisia and Monemvasia.
SAIL & STAY
Poros plus the neighbouring islands of Hydra and Spetses offer a wealth of
choice for a two-centre holiday.
The proximity of the historic city of Athens, with it's unique and spectacular
ancient monuments, great shopping and cosmopolitan nightlife, presents
an ideal opportunity to take in some history and culture. Simply call us to
discuss your requirements.

FLOTILLA & SHARE A SAIL
THE SPORADES
Now most definitely ‘off the beaten track’ Greece, this coastline once played home not only to Jason and his Argonauts, but was the spot where
Achilles set sail to conquer Troy. The small islands here are beautiful with sandy beaches, wooded headlands and pretty villages. It’s a ‘must see’
area for Greek lovers with ‘must sail’waters for more experienced crews. From our homeport on Skiathos we take advantage of fresh sailing
winds heading west to the more sheltered Gulf of Volos to visit Paleo Trikeri and historic Pegadi in the lee of the Pelion peninsula and
Amaliopolis. Next we visit the splendour of Evia and Orei where an ancient Acropolis still guards the harbour. Our route back to Skiathos stops
off at one of the areas famed beaches, Koukounaries. The Sporades cruise plots a course around relatively undiscovered islands such as
Alonissos with its scenic harbours at Patitiri and Steni Vala. The beaches are simply lovely and the scenery is stunning.

Seafaring on the Turquoise Coast
The word ‘turquoise’ is often associated with these coastal ‘Turkish’
waters – a translucent iridescent shimmering mirage of blues that
constantly changes. The colour comes from the bright sunshine bouncing
off the golden sands and rocks in shallow coves – this is a fabulous part
of the world to explore, and many choose to return again and again.
Get a little offshore and the cruising can become more challenging – with
the reward for an exhilarating day on deck coming in the shape of dinner
and drinks in a solitary ‘lokanta’ in an idyllic secluded anchorage
inaccessible by road, and so typical of this tranquil and unspoilt region.
Our home ports are Orhaniye and Marmaris, with a choice of alternating
one or two week itineraries – the Lycean, Carian and Hisaronu. Cruises
can be booked for either one or two weeks with alternating embarkation
in Marmaris Orhaniye or Gocek giving the possibility of one way flotillas
or the chance to go ‘intercontinental.’ Our Gokova two week flotilla also
has intercontinental possibilities, crossing from Asia Minor to Europe in
the form of the Greek island of Symi, as well as exploring off the beaten
track.
Bareboat charters operate out of Marmaris and Gocek for the Lycian
Coast or Bodrum or Orhaniye for the Gulfs of Gokova and Hisaronu. We
have limitless Sail and Stay choices, and also offer Gulet cruises through
our Small Ship Adventures brochure.
SAIL & STAY
Try the nearby Palmetto Resort Hotel at Selimiye in an idyllic beach-front
location. We also offer resort hotels villas and apartments and can tailor
make arrangements to suit your requirements.

Seafaring in the wake of Marco Polo
This spectacular coast of a ‘thousand islands’ and its fabulous medieval walled
cities of Dubrovnik, Hvar and Korcula, would have been a welcome sight for
famed adventurer Marco Polo as he sailed back to his home port of Venice. We
think you’ll find the warm hospitality, relaxed charm and fine cuisine equally
welcoming.
There are four main cruising areas and bareboat charter customers can sail
from Biograd for the northern Kornati islands, Dubrovnik for the wine producing
peninsula of Peljesac, or Pula for Istria and the wonderful Kvarner region.
New for 2014, our flotilla sails from Zaton, near Sibenik and is ideally located to
explore Split and the southern islands as well as the beautiful Kornati national
park to the north. Wherever you sail you’ll be amazed how the serene beauty of
nature blends with a rich culture and lavish elegance harking back to the glory
days of the Venetian Empire when these waters were the final leg of the
Chinese Silk Route.
Mid-Dalmatia Flotilla
During the summer, gentle northerly winds provide great sailing and the Seafarer
flotilla makes good use of the sheltered coastal harbours and safe anchorages
amongst the islands. We set sail from our exclusive base in Zaton, exploring the
national parks and UNESCO heritage sites of the Dalmatian coast.
SAIL & STAY
Spending a week on flotilla followed by a second week ashore can be the ideal
combination. We can organise anything from a couple of days in historic
Dubrovnik or Split to a week in a beach hotel, private villa or apartment on an
island such as nearby Brac or along the mainland coast in places like Trogir and
Primosten. Tailor making arrangements is our speciality so simply give us a call to
discuss the many options available.

British Virgin Islands - BVI
If you were to define the perfect flotilla sailing area then the result would
almost certainly be the British Virgin Islands. Perfect consistent trade
winds combined with warm, safe seas and picture perfect pure sand
beaches make this a dream location for your sailing holiday. The island
group, a British Overseas Territory, is formed of some 60 islands, of which
15 are inhabited. Our 7 and 14 night itineraries have been designed to
showcase the best locations to be found.
You will fly to Beef Island (Tortola) via Antigua or Grenada and our base in
Hodges Creek Marina in Maya Cove is a 10 minute taxi ride away.
Our fleet, operated in association with the well-established Dream yacht
Charters offers an excellent choice of monohulls and catamarans from 34
to 52 feet in length. All yachts come with a sturdy RIB and powerful
outboard motor for getting ashore from the preferred mooring buoys
situated conveniently around the islands. You will get a chance to see
them all, from Norman Island, the inspiration for Robert Louis Stevenson’s
Treasure Island to Anegada with its breathtaking beaches via Virgin
Gorda and Jost Van Dyke, the birthplace of the Painkiller cocktail.
When you add superb snorkelling, friendly locals, great cocktails and fresh
barbecued lobster, the British Virgin Islands is a must for all Seafarers.
SAIL & STAY
Since most guests fly from the UK to the BVI via either Antigua or
Grenada, many chose to extend their stay on one of these larger
islands where there is an excellent choice of resort hotels and villas to
suit most tastes. We can tailor make arrangements for you.

SECURITY DEPOSIT & YACHT DAMAGE
PREMIUM
Although all yachts are comprehensively
insured, a security deposit is required to
cover the first part of any damage caused.
For flotilla holidays and some bareboat
destinations an optional Yacht Damage
Premium is charged which reduces the
insurance excess to £500 in the event of
accidental damage to the charter yacht or for
loss or damage to the equipment. This
premium is typically £100 for yachts up to 34
ft, £150 for yachts 35 to 39ft, £200 for yachts
40-45ft and £250 for yachts over 46ft. This
cover excludes the first £500 of any damage,
and also loss of or damage to dinghy and
outboard motor, anchor and chain or
helmsman’s seat for which you would be
liable up to the maximum of £500 which you
are required to lodge as a reduced security
deposit. As an alternative to YDP, you will be
required to lodge a refundable security
deposit of £1000 (up to 34 ft), £1500 ( 3539ft), £2000 ( 40-45 ft) and £2500 (46ft+)
collected either pre departure or an arrival in
resort. These deposit and YDW rates may
vary in specific locations and for certain
yacht types, especially catamarans.
CHILD DISCOUNT (FLOTILLA HOLIDAYS)
We offer a discount of £100 per child outside
of school holiday periods or £50 per child
during school holidays (age 2-16). Infants
under 2 years travelling by air are charged at
£50 and are not provided with a seat on
flights. We also ask you to provide your own
life jackets/buoyancy aids for infants and
children under 6. Child discounts are limited
to one child per full fare paying adult.
QUALIFICATIONS & SAILING
EXPERIENCE DO I NEED?
Skippering a flotilla yacht is immensely
enjoyable and relatively easy, particularly
during the summer months when winds are
steady and the weather reasonably
predictable. On flotilla, the mostly relatively
short passages between anchorages mean
that willing helpers on-board will not become
bored or restless. Skipper qualification
requirements vary between countries and
though not always required when there is
provable experience, we recommend that
the skipper has an International Certificate
of Competence (ICC) as a minimum, which
is equivalent to the RYA Day Skipper
practical qualification.
The Saronic Gulf or Ionian Isles in Greece
are where conditions are generally more
moderate. If you have only limited previous
sailing experience possibly gained by dinghy
sailing at local club level or perhaps acting
as an occasional crew member on a
cruising/racing yacht, we recommend you
enrol on a pre-flotilla or RYA training course
either pre departure or in resort, by prior
arrangement with us. Crews sailing from
bases such as The Dodecanese or
Sporades in Greece, The Dalmatian coast of
Croatia or the Caryan coast of Turkey on
flotilla or bareboat charter, can expect more
challenging sailing. Therefore formal qualifications plus a higher degree of sailing
experience and navigational knowledge are
usually required and recommended. In the
absence of qualifications, a resumé of your
sailing experience backed up by a reference
from a recognised sailing club may be
accepted in some areas in Turkey and the
Caribbean (though generally not in Greece
& Croatia). The larger yachts require
skippers with experience of handling yachts
of a similar size and an internationally
recognized qualification such as Coastal
Skipper or higher may be required, though
in general an ICC qualification is widely
recognized and accepted. In all cases
please check with us that you have
appropriate qualifications and experience.
Furthermore, original certificates must be
taken with you when you travel.

YACHT INVENTORIES
RESPONSIBLE TRAVEL
Premier Yachts
Our yachts are thoughtfully designed and
comprehensively equipped with an inventory
specifically chosen for Mediterranean sailing
holidays. Aboard each yacht you will find: Adult
and children size life jackets, life harnesses, an
inflatable dinghy (outboard available at
supplement), pilot book, navigation charts and
equipment, cooking utensils and a full set of
bed linen. Fitted to each yacht are: Shower
with hot water, deck shower, Bimini hood, an
electric fridge, a radio/CD player or media
centre, GPS or chart plotter and VHF radio.
Most yachts are equipped with depth, log and
wind instruments. The inventory and specifications described within this brochure are
given as a general guideline and a fair
representation of the yachts and their
equipment available from Seafarer Cruising &
Sailing Holidays and our suppliers or agents.
Specifications may change from one supplier
to another. If confirmation of specific
equipment is required on a particular boat we
will be pleased to provide this in writing. Note:
Whilst we endeavour to ensure that all flotilla
yachts have holding tanks, on some bareboats
or extra yachts hired in to our flotillas, this
cannot be guaranteed. This may especially
apply in Croatia due to their approach aimed
at encouraging marina use. Yacht crews are
encouraged to use marina or shore facilities
wherever possible. Croatian marina charges
range from £1.00 - £2.00 per foot per night
and most provide hot showers, toilets, a
reception with currency exchange, water,
shore power, shops, bars and restaurants. In
Greece and Turkey marinas are less common
so away from marinas mooring charges are
considerably lower or often not charged at all.
At Seafarer we endeavour to respect the
natural environment in which we sail as well as
the laws, people and culture of our host
countries. On this basis our staff will advise on
issues such as avoiding pollution through use
of appropriate eco-friendly detergents on
board our yachts, correct use of holding tanks
and disposing of litter responsibly. We will also
encourage you to conserve water which is an
increasingly scarce resource in these
communities and to sail rather than motor
whenever possible. We will advise on local
regulations you should be aware of.
Additionally, we actively promote the history
and culture of our host countries and
endeavour to participate positively in the local
economy and communities. For example we
try to make use of local suppliers, staff and
materials wherever possible. We support local
events as well as support and encourage local
conservation or recycling initiatives. In this way
we are hopefully doing our part towards the
common goal of ensuring that these beautiful
and largely unspoilt areas are there to be
enjoyed by future generations.
New or recent model Yachts,
entered service 2010 onwards.
Comfort Yachts Typically entered service
between 2006 – 2009.
Economy Yachts Well maintained earlier model
yachts that entered service
before 2006.
